Pillar of Yita

The main general for the Elite side was a delicate-looking girl. Not exactly beautiful, but her calm demeanor was not unpleasant either. As soon as she stepped down from her position, she glanced at the score and then Fang Hong, before quietly gathering her belongings and leaving the arena.

The audience was momentarily silent.

Perhaps they still hadn’t accepted the fact that Ragnarok’s main character not only wasn’t showy but also managed to score higher than the Elite side. People were staring at the numbers on the scoreboard, like a school of dark-backed fish washed up on the beach.

Among the crowd, only Sophie bent over laughing.

She felt like Silver Weslan had run head-first into a shark and was now silently watching as the Elite, clueless, did the same. If you were to list the vices of humanity, gloating would certainly be in the top three.

However, she wasn’t optimistic about Ragnarok defeating Elite either.

She glanced in Fang Hong’s direction, curious about the confidence he exuded.

...

The girl walked up to Virus and stopped.

Virus patted her on the shoulder and simply said, ”Win or lose, it’s all the same, don’t overthink it.”

The girl nodded quietly.

Virus also looked up at the scoreboard. Although it’s hard to support the weight alone, she wasn’t overly worried; besides the main character being a newcomer, the other two players on the Ragnarok side were just average.

”However, their main general is not ordinary,” someone remarked, ”If Ragnarok has a player of this caliber, the rankings among alchemy guilds might see some changes.”

Virus was slightly intrigued but calmly said, ”Don’t be distracted, there are still two matches left.”

The person fell silent immediately.

She then looked at the person next to them, saying: ”Evan, get ready, you’re up next.”

The latter, somewhat reticent, just nodded.

Then Virus told Shui Wuming, ”Go get the scores from Ragnarok’s previous matches for me to see.”

After saying this, she turned back to look in the direction Fang Hong had left.

Inside the box—

Phales paused while stroking his beard, and praised, ”Not bad, your student—”

”Yeah, not bad,” Ande muttered absentmindedly, looking through previous match results.

His expression suddenly turned odd as he paused on one page of parchment, then went back to check again. The glaring scores on the page caught his eye — he glanced at the scoreboard in the distance and couldn’t help but curse silently:

”This brat, might as well be an idiot.”

”What are you looking at?” Phales suddenly turned and asked.

”Nothing,” Ande shook his head quickly, ”Just something interesting.”

Phales wasn’t focused on it at all and didn’t comment when he heard that.

On the Ragnarok side, Soul Fingerprint felt an almost identical sense of powerlessness to Ande.

Fang Hong eagerly came off the stage only to get a scolding. ”It’s fine to hide your strength, but try to be more intentional,” Soul Fingerprint said, exasperated, ”What’s the difference between 98.5 and 98.6?”

”The numbers are different, obviously,” Fang Hong answered, oblivious.

Mulan and Hawk-Beak Bean were laughing so hard on the side they almost fell over.

But this minor hiccup was ultimately harmless —

Whether inside or outside the arena, although discussions about this unexpected main character match continued, most people wouldn’t think to look back at Ragnarok’s previous scores for comparison, except for a few interested individuals.

Only the livestream of the Wandering Horse had a different vibe.

After all, most of the viewers here had recognized Fang Hong from the last stream, and naturally, that match remained vividly in their memories. In fact, some eager fans had already dug up Fang Hong’s previous match scores, even all the way back to the knockout rounds.

Thanks to the wealth of information in this era, when people flaunted a series of scores in the stream, the chat exploded once again.

However, this time, it was mostly cheerful messages:

”Wow, precise scoring!”

”Haha, this guy isn’t subtle at all.”

”Then again, isn’t he a regular player? What’s he doing in an exhibition match?”

”This is just massacring the young ones.”

”Too much!”

”I feel bad for the girl from Elite.”

”Come to think of it, this guy always targets girls.”

The chat was filled with jubilation, akin to a festival.

But those who knew some inside information, like the Wandering Horse, had perhaps heard about the incident in the last match. It’s said that since then, people from the Elpaxin Artisan Association had been searching for this young man. It was unclear why he suddenly appeared at this tournament.

Could it be to rightfully secure a spot in a formal competition?

Wandering Horse seemed to be overthinking it.

However, when he saw Fang Hong’s previous results, his reaction was like the others; he was speechless for a moment. He vaguely felt that Fang Hong’s actions weren’t deliberate, but rather he was completely unaware of it.

Looking at the last score of 98.6, he couldn’t help but twitch an eyebrow.

As everyone enthusiastically discussed, naturally, the competition continued.

The third round began quickly.

This one was about plugin creation, the Swift Burst Plugin VI.

It’s a rather common topic. However, common doesn’t mean simple; the Swift Burst Plugin and the Strength Enhancement Plugin are the most used plugins in Eteliria — the former was invented in the three hundred and eleventh year after the Aithelin disaster, whereas the latter came a bit later, about three centuries ago —
