Pillar of Yita

”And regarding this, there is an ancient prophecy in the Southern Region that has been passed down among us Alchemists for centuries,” he suddenly recited softly: ”The lost secret awaits its master; when disaster descends, the chosen of the stars will also arrive, selected by the Spire, the Dragon’s Mark shall return to the human world—”

The hall was filled with a low, deep voice.

Almost everyone was repeating this verse.

As for this prophecy, it has been passed down among the Alchemists of Aldofen for several generations. Even among the crowd, Phales, as an Alchemist of the Artisan Association, had heard of it:

Regarding the Spire in the prophecy, some believe it is the Aldofen High Tower, while others think it is the Four Seasons Tower, located separately at Osh, Giant Tree Hill, Rotao, and Colin Ishurian.

The former believe the Aldofen Spire existed before the birth of Colin Ishurian, serving as the legacy of the Numelin Elves, so it makes perfect sense for the prophecy to refer to it. However, supporters of the latter also have valid reasons, after all, the Guardian of the Summer’s End Tower is a Giant Dragon.

Speaking of the most famous Three-Headed Dragon in Colin Ishurian over the centuries, it is actually just the master of Nikopolas, Toragotos, and Nevade.

Now, Nikopolas has long become history, Toragotos has just perished in the desert, and of the three Giant Dragons, only the Cloud Dragon remains. At this moment, people can’t help but subconsciously link it to the fact that the master of Nevade had just left Holy Bow Peak not long ago—

Is there some kind of coincidence here?

Has the Overlord of Holy Bow Peak, as rumored, already selected a suitable heir?

But Count Westwood Sibika did not mention this, only replied: ”Now the disaster in the prophecy has already descended on Fenris Isle, and news from the north says that the Dragon’s Witch of yesteryear seems to have been resurrected, stirring restlessly...”

”Now, the signs of the prophecy have appeared, and you all know this prophecy was left by the Ancient Numelin Elves, related to the Dragon’s Mark and the magical legacy it left. So at the moment of disaster, I had a guess in my heart—has the latter part of the prophecy also come to us? I have even heard rumors that the Lizardmen are searching for the contemporary chosen of the stars; this might serve as evidence for this hypothesis.”

”Until I met Rolin.”

He looked at the young man.

The young man just raised his hand slightly, and amidst a buzzing sound—not seeing any mechanism on his hand’s Clockwork Fairy, it naturally suspended itself. Then, under his guidance, the dark star slowly flew from one side to the other.

And it was at that moment.

Fang Hong saw a mass of black light rise in the palm of the other’s hand.

Suddenly, he felt a heavy thump in his heart, dizziness overwhelmed him, nearly driving him to his knees, but he hurriedly pressed his hand to his chest, steadied himself, and managed to regain his footing. Yet his face was pale and cold sweat trickled profusely.

After a moment, two waves of warm strength supported his Mind World from front and back. ”Mr. Knight, steady your mind.” Miss Tata’s calming voice resonated from deep within. Although the other power remained silent, it quietly safeguarded his mental defenses.

Fang Hong instantly understood where the second strength came from, diving his consciousness into his inner world, seeing the Half-Dragon girl still peacefully asleep in her position, unmoving. ”Thank you, little one,” Fang Hong couldn’t help but say softly in his heart.

The power immediately felt a touch more intimate with him.

He then opened his eyes and raised his head, only to see that others in the hall seemed unaware of any anomalies, just watching this scene, holding their breath:

”Elf Legacy!”

”Dragon’s Mark!”

Such sounds echoed, rising and falling around.

Rolin glanced at the crowd, then retracted the dark star.

The Count nodded approvingly at him, then turned to the others and said: ”You all witnessed it, Rolin’s innate ability to manipulate the magic guided conductor of the Numelin Elves seems to validate that prophecy; this is indeed the power of the Dragon’s Mark.”

He paused and added: ”This ancient prophecy has been passed down in our Southern Region for generations, and today we are fortunate to witness it coming true, just as the alliance is in turmoil—this might be the guidance endowed to us by the Knowledge and Protector, Lord Angina, in the shadows.”

”Thus, I ultimately decided to make Rolin the next successor of the Rose Workshop. Of course, he still needs refining, so he needs your support.”

The hall fell silent.

Even Ande Ulriel was momentarily daunted. ”I have indeed done my best, little one, and the Mawei family’s girl,” he shook his head. While his foolish student also possessed some talent, compared to such a prophetic figure, it wasn’t merely a small gap.

The depth of this prophecy’s roots in the Southern Region was all too clear to him as a person of that land. Ironically, earlier in the afternoon, he had jokingly discussed this with an old friend, only to end up proving the saying true.

”It seems the rumor in the Hall of Thousand Doors wasn’t unfounded after all,” Phales remarked meaningfully to him.

Ande shook his head vehemently.
