Pillar of Yita

Inside the hall, the air fell silent for a moment, and a low murmur gathered like a strange ringing in the ears, making those immersed within uneasy and glance around. Many eyes were on the Earl, but even more were on the young man.

The Earl raised his hand slightly, asking everyone to remain calm. He replied in a solemn tone: ”The disaster of Fenris is behind us, yet we can never forget, whether the hero who sleeps here or the innocent blood spilled. And we must remember that the instigator behind these events has not yet faced rightful punishment. So, when our colleagues from the north asked for our help, despite the many conflicts between us and the new king, we still reached out with aid.”

He looked at everyone one by one: ”Among you are colleagues from Elfendo and noble families from all over the Southern Region, who all participated in the decision-making that day, so I won’t elaborate further. We acted as we did only because we always remember the crown and anvil on the Colin Ishurian coat of arms, remembering that this is a country formed by the convergence of many wills.”

A round of applause immediately erupted in the hall.

Fang Hong turned to ask Hilveld what the words meant.

Hilveld told him that after the Fenris incident, people have been searching for the whereabouts of the culprit Toragotos, and on this basis, alchemists from the north and south also set aside prejudices and worked together. What Lord Earl mentioned should pertain to this matter.

”Miss Sophie doesn’t fully understand,” Hilveld whispered: ”After all, she is not truly from Colin Ishurian. The alchemy community of the north and south is using this performance match as a guise to meet. It could even be said that the occurrence of the Fenris incident slightly mended some northern and southern divides.”

Of course, this only applies to the alchemy realm. The nobles and the Prime Minister’s side are still at odds, and the southern situation has only grown more severe by the day, without any improvement.

After hearing the background, Fang Hong couldn’t help but nod lightly.

”Today, I need to announce something first,” the Earl said: ”Although the exact news might take days to come back, the truth of the matter should be undeniable.”

The hall gradually quieted, and all eyes were focused on the center.

Only then did the Earl speak: ”After the day of the decision, what we have been pursuing all along wasn’t in vain—it has borne fruit. Prior to this, the army led by Sir Roban has already reached Idus.”

”Three days ago, they fought a fierce battle with the evil dragon there; as for the result of the combat,” the Earl paused slightly: ”Undoubtedly, we achieved the victory we anticipated—the evil dragon was slain in combat.”

There was the sound of drawing breath in the hall.

Fang Hong also looked up in surprise.

A servant brought up a glass of wine, and the Earl raised it, his tone firm and powerful, proclaiming loudly: ”Let us toast to this.”

The hall first fell into an eerie silence, then erupted in a sea of cheers and uproar.

”Did he say Toragotos is dead?” Tianlan widened her eyes, loudly asking: ”Is that true, or did I hear wrong?”

But people just gazed at each other, and no one could give her a definite answer.

Ai Xiaoxiao also asked on the side: ”Are you talking about the green dragon from the story?”

”This is no story,” a Papalarian said seriously: ”I am a firsthand witness.”

Unfortunately, no one paid him any mind; all voices were drowned in the ever-growing waves of discussion.

The Earl raised his hand once more, calming the crowd slightly: ”This is absolutely true, I have a letter from Sir Roban as proof. However, we need to remember that among the one hundred and thirty-two heroes involved in this battle, fifty-seven left us forever. Among them are colleagues from the Artisan Association and members of our Southern Region Alliance, who fell on the road to pursuing justice.”

”May the brave souls of the ancestors be with them, guiding us forward on our path,” people echoed in unison.

In this solemn atmosphere, Fang Hong couldn’t help but feel admiration.

The surrounding nobles, to some degree, also had some intel. Fang Hong heard them discussing quietly and learned that there were three leaders in this action. In addition to Sir Roban, the other two were Holy Chosen, one was Odin, the other was Ye Hua.

Fang Hong suddenly realized that the urgent task Odin and his team received was this. He also didn’t expect that the two deities who fought fiercely in Dulun would join forces in this battle.

And on the battlefield, it wasn’t just Sir Roban, the hero of the Battle of Bain; there was also Princess Briana. No wonder Toragotos met his end there, ambushed by these four, the evil dragon met its worthy demise.

Moreover, those who participated in combat on that day were probably of the same caliber as Lady Little Nine and the Handwasher senior.

This made Fang Hong long for that battle.

Still, he couldn’t figure out what this had to do with the Stargate?

When people calmed down a bit, someone finally asked, ”So, Lord Earl, this matter must have some connection with the young gentleman beside you, correct?”

”Indeed,” the Earl nodded: ”Rolin is not only an eyewitness of that great battle, one of the seventy-five survivors, but it is also thanks to him that during this battle, the tide was turned and we won our splendid final victory.”
