Pillar of Yita

”Xi, let me introduce you, this is Miss Daisy.” Sophie held the Lady Cat, like holding a white fluffy ball under a dark cloud. Daisy only coldly looked at these two ridiculous women with her turquoise-like eyes.

The young girl, newly recovered from a serious illness, carried a kind of frail beauty, tentatively reaching out her hand, gently touching the top of the Lady Cat’s head. The latter narrowed her eyes dangerously, raising her paw, but it was caught by that woman. ”It’s so cute.” The mountain girl exclaimed.

Her eyes gleamed, so adorable that it melted one’s heart.

Annoyed, Daisy let out a ’meow’, wriggled out of Sophie’s embrace, and dashed into the crowd, watching the two women from a distance, remaining alert.

”Ah,” Xi was startled, speaking with regret, ”it ran away.”

But the Princess of Silver Weslan did not respond, only watched her calmly.

Xi was slightly stunned, looking up, only to see the other’s dark pupils sparkling as well, startling her: ”Su... Sophie?” The latter mischievously smiled, suddenly hugging her, whispering in her ear:

”Xi is the cutest!”

The mountain girl’s face flushed red, looking completely at a loss.

A firework shot up into the night sky.

Brilliant light bloomed across the sky, accompanied by a dull blast, multicolored magical light turning into a dreamlike scene.

A giant whale swimming through the clouds, swinging its phantom tail and long fins, glittering with every color, every scale shimmering with dreamlike hues, slowly drifting across the sky, quieting the crowd wherever it went.

Then the giant whale exploded into countless birds flying in all directions, eliciting a chorus of gasps.

The glow of the fireworks passed through the arched windows, illuminating everyone’s face in the inn hall.

Fang Hong turned back, glanced at the two, and couldn’t help but remind them, ”Miss Sophie, please mind the impression.” Making the mountain girl cover her face in embarrassment, steam practically rising from her cheeks, reaching out to push off the octopus-like Sophie.

But Sophie just grabbed Xi’s hand, turned playfully to wrinkle her nose at him, ”Tsk, only you can romance with Miss Hilveld? Xi and I also pursue freedom!”

What’s the logical connection here?

Fang Hong was speechless, glancing at Hilveld beside him, ”I, I and Miss Hilveld aren’t...”

”Aren’t what?” Sophie intentionally asked.

So he opened his mouth, and was left speechless.

Hilveld listened on the side, only covering her mouth to laugh incessantly.

Xiang and the Papalarians were outside the inn setting off fireworks, arguing endlessly over the right to light the fuse, the Big Cat People holding a pipe, their silver ash-colored eyes reflecting firelight, seemed to reminisce about Rotao’s past.

Tianlan and Gita stood side by side, one small, one big, like a pair of twin sisters, one clapping happily, the other holding a big book appearing serene, showing a stark contrast.

Inside the hall, Elisa was fastening the last silver button for Delice, the Little Princess of Westwood Sibika obediently and quietly in the hands of her twin sister. The girl half-kneeling, putting a shawl on her, carefully adjusting it, pressing down the flower sewn onto the collar.

She stepped back two paces, looked left and right, then nodded with satisfaction. Under her finishing touches, the little girl’s hair curled, setting off her porcelain-white skin, looking as exquisite as a delicate doll.

”Delice is so pretty,” Elisa couldn’t help but praise.

Delice was stunned, suddenly reaching out to gently stroke Elisa’s face.

Elisa was slightly stunned, looking up at the little girl, only to see Delice’s eyes redden, large tears like broken pearls rolling down her cheeks. Startled, she flustered and hurriedly asked:

”What’s wrong...?”

”Mom...”

”Mom?”

”Elisa Mom...”

Elisa was slightly stunned, seemingly hit in the softest spot of her heart, pulling Delice into a tight hug. She pressing Delice firmly into her embrace, softly comforting, ”Don’t be afraid, Delice, don’t be afraid.”

Another firework rose into the sky, its brilliance formed the shapes of mountains, like a sea of starlight slowly descending.

The rise and fall of stars and flowers pushed the celebration to a climax.

People softly marveled at such a sight.

As if it was the coming year, and as if it was now, people temporarily forgot the harsh winter, forgot all turmoil, the warm light flowing into everyone’s hearts.

Amidst a bustling atmosphere, the festive convoy began circling the town, people holding torches, weaving through the crowd. The large wagons draped in colorful curtains, ladies dressed up, charming and lovely, distributing candies and gold coins to the citizens.

Children ran after the wagons for a long way, each earning a full basket, giggling all the while.

On the wagons were also some bizarre figures, representing the legendary past of the Southern Region, and on the last wagon was a straw-made Phoenix Holy Sword. Citizens poured oil over it, striking a match to ignite a raging flame that lit up their hearts.

People cheered together, and the flames illuminated the city gate, the Phoenix Emblem on it shining brightly.

The Papalarians no longer argued with Xiang, instead, they went with the children to pick up a bag of ’gold coins’, only to discover they were all copper coins painted bright yellow, almost making him unable to eat dessert.

Of course, it was just ’almost’—
