Pillar of Yita

Among the three, there was a magician who raised his magic wand and began chanting spells behind the other two.

Then came a gunshot—

The magician did not react at all before collapsing after his shield flashed.

Fang Hong turned back to discover the smoke curling from the muzzle of Hilveld’s silver handgun, realizing that Miss Ship’s Officer had already drawn her gun and shot first, taking down the opponent.

Her marksmanship was all learned from the old sailors under her father’s command. Bakins and his crew would often battle over the Sky Sea, and their marksmanship was incredibly precise. She surpassed them, excelling even more than the seasoned sailors.

”Their level is not high,” Hilveld then reminded.

Although the magician was fragile, the Ether Shield was continuously effective, so being shot dead by her indicated that the opponent’s level was lower than theirs.

The Shadow Throne might not be a Grand Guild, but the average member should not be so weak. Fang Hong thought of a term as he looked at these people—temp workers. They were likely peripheral members of the Shadow Throne, specifically tasked with dirty work.

In fact, every guild has such people, even Silver Weslan is no exception.

Once something goes wrong, the Grand Guild can easily distance itself from these individuals, and they can receive compensation and move on to other guilds to continue doing similar work until all the Starlight is used up.

Though it sounds somewhat base, it’s indeed a survival method for the lower-level Invokers.

But for Fang Hong, the phrase ’their level is not high’ was quite enough.

He had already released the Energy Angel.

The two had not yet recognized what it was but sooner identified Fang Hong.

”Combat Artisan!?”

Before the words fell, the two screamed, covering their eyes, bending down.

A wasp-like construct skimmed over their heads, its flashbang immediately blinding them. Fang Hong and Hilveld turned back in perfect synchronization; he raised his right hand, and the Energy Angel stepped forward, severing heads with a sword.

Two fine heads rolled down the steps, leaving a trail of blood.

White light flickered up, but Fang Hong paid it no mind, merely leading Hilveld past the bodies of the three. ”A tad too late.” Fang Hong looked up to see the silhouette of Feyos vanishing into the alley, shaking his head involuntarily.

Still a little late.

Below, there was only that inn left.

He pulled down his wind goggles, glancing to realize the opponent had not yet changed direction, still heading towards the inn—who knows what was inside that attracted them so much.

But that’s not bad news—

He looked around; it was too late to take a detour now, and catching up head-on was unlikely—because the Energy Angel couldn’t Blink with obstructions, the alleys significantly hindered its capabilities.

Currently, there was only one feasible route.

He raised his head, looking at the rooftops around. Though the alleys twisted and turned, taking the rooftops was a shortcut, but going that route meant he couldn’t bring Hilveld along.

He turned back and said, ”Miss Hilveld, wait for me here.”

Hilveld nodded without any displeasure.

”I will leave the Energy Angel to protect you.”

”No need.”

”This time, I insist,” Fang Hong interrupted.

Hilveld hesitated slightly, seeing the seriousness on his face, couldn’t help but smile lightly, and nodded a bit more at ease.

Fang Hong took a deep breath and then shot a flying claw towards a nearby tower—the sharp whistles rose and fell in the distance, the City Defense Force was clearly mobilized—he climbed onto the roof for a look, only to find several small black dots in the sky.

Pterosaur Knights, Fang Hong was startled, not expecting such a big commotion in an instant.

His heart filled with a desire to slay all those men, for though the Shadow Throne temp workers were as rats, his own identity was equally clandestine, and the Tulip Fortress incident remained unresolved.

Knowing he had to act swiftly and decisively, he calculated a logical path using the Clockwork Fairy’s vision, identified the rooftops on his route, and fired the flying claw continuously, advancing quickly through the alleys like a flea.

However, his high-profile actions garnered attention amidst the crowds, thankfully the nearby area mainly housed natives, attracting only local residents.

Otherwise, it would definitely become fodder for community video topics.

In a courtyard not far off, the woman had just picked up the clothes from the ground in a daze and looked up, her mouth agape at the scene.

All Saints above!

She wondered what on Earth is happening today?

As Odin walked out of the meeting room, he saw a guild official hurrying towards him, saying, ”Something happened outside!” ”What’s going on?” Odin immediately asked. ”Seems like people from the Shadow Throne are causing it.”

Odin paused, recalling what he had seen earlier, and furrowed his brow. Under the official’s guidance, he switched to another room, pushed open the door, and walked to a terrace to look.

Below, the natives were gathering, pointing at Fang Hong leaping across the rooftops a few streets away, and Odin followed their gestures with a glance, stunned.

The two intersecting lines tethered the figure of the youth leaping over the roofs, almost instantly overlapping with another shadow in his mind. But compared to the underground in Fenris, the opponent’s skills were clearly much more refined.
