Pillar of Yita

”But he hasn’t ’died,’” Xiangzi added from the side.

Indeed, Fang Hong had naturally noticed as well.

He suddenly remembered something: those people had mentioned leaving this place to meet up with their teammates, meaning their teammates hadn’t vanished into the Starlight either.

Where was the problem?

Those who were said to have been seen killed by that ’woman’ were undoubtedly dead for good; he had checked personally, and those corpses absolutely lacked any semblance of Starlight. Or could it be that this was the actual difference?

Only those who died at the hands of those cloaked figures were stripped of their Starlight.

Fang Hong suddenly realized he had overlooked another issue. He looked around and his eyes met with Sophie’s in the Light Page. The princess of Silver Weslan was clearly doing the same thing as him.

Only those resurrected through Starlight had the chance of leaving one or two pieces of Equipment on the battlefield.

And those truly dead unfortunate souls would likely leave all their gear in this place.

Both with this thought in mind looked around and, indeed, found the proportion of the former far exceeded the latter, meaning not many actually ’died’ on this seemingly gruesome battlefield.

Instead, most had been resurrected outside.

After Fang Hong realized this, a flash of inspiration struck him. He gestured to the others and said in a low voice, ”Hurry, let’s check up ahead.”

Though the knights were clueless, Sophie didn’t object, so they naturally raised no objections either and followed Fang Hong forward. It wasn’t long before they proved his speculation correct.

The ground became increasingly littered with corpses, and they even found several Invokers in a dying state.

”They’re people from Rain Listener.” Someone recognized the style of these individuals’ battle robes.

Fang Hong had already been aware of this and felt a sinking feeling in his heart. He hadn’t expected to encounter the people of Rain Listener in such a state after parting ways on the sixth level.

But not all of these individuals were from Rain Listener. Fang Hong knew Rain Listener didn’t have that many people; they must have allied with other small Guilds. But who could have foreseen such an event?

Although the Priests of Silver Weslan spread out to attend to those on the brink of death, it was to no avail. It was well known that injuries at death’s door in Eteliria couldn’t simply be remedied by restoring Life Points.

Moreover, even if they were saved, the injured would still be in a deep coma, yielding no useful information.

”Let’s look further ahead,” Sophie also spoke up.

But as Fang Hong was about to move forward, a hand suddenly stretched out from the pile of corpses and grasped his ankle.

He jolted, ready to draw his handgun, but a hoarse voice came through: ”Mr. Ade, please help, Elisa and the others are up ahead...” The person looked at him as if recognizing him, and opening their mouth said, ”We...”

”Leave me your ID!” Fang Hong saw the guy was about to die and quickly shouted, but alas, he was a moment too late; the other had already slumped and dissolved into specks of white light, disappearing into thin air.

Fang Hong cursed under his breath. If the other had left behind a communication ID, he could at least have inquired about what exactly had happened.

But at that moment, he remembered he still had the communication ID of the twin sisters. He hurriedly opened the communicator only to see one ID dim down, and after about ten more seconds, it lit up again.

Fang Hong’s mouth opened, understanding all too well what that scene meant.

One of the two sisters seemed to have already fallen out.
