Pillar of Yita

”Watch out on the left!”

”Web Rush, dodge it!”

”It’s turning around, get behind it—Watch out for the web attack, make sure you don’t get caught!”

”Aim for its underbelly!”

Accompanied by a shrill scream, seven or eight long halberds simultaneously stabbed into the round and fuzzy abdomen of the Spider-Lord, and green fluid surged out like a fountain, splashing all over the members of the Silver Weslan outside. The former went into a frenzy, wildly swinging its limbs in vain until it finally collapsed heavily to the ground—its ruined body bleeding profusely, green blood trickling down like waterfalls, gradually merging to form a small pond.

At this point, the life of this seventh-tier lord had finally come to an end, becoming transparent and vanishing, leaving behind a shimmering ring in its place. The knights were covered in negative statuses indicating poisoning and corrosion, and it was only then that the priests came running over, chanting spells and using divine arts to cleanse the sticky venom from their bodies.

The seventh tier of the trial was mainly a race, with every team that passed through the sixth-tier teleportation gate being transported to corresponding locations on the map’s edge, then moving towards the center of the map, killing any phantoms that blocked their way, with the fastest team reaching the center declared the winners and receiving all the rewards of that level.

Since they had a huge advantage in the previous tier, other teams had hardly even passed through the sixth tier, so in reality, they had no competitors on this level. As for the monsters along the way, with the alliance of Silver Weslan, they were of no account.

Until they killed this lord, they hadn’t spent much effort; Fang Hong simply followed the map to set up the tactics, and everyone from Silver Weslan cooperated in taking down the boss, even with a slight hint of showing off—as if to say, ”Look, we can easily handle the fight without your directions.”

But Fang Hong didn’t mind; he just felt lucky. The Spider-Lord was the lamest of all the lords on the seventh tier. They encountered the worst option on the previous level, but this tier made up for it, handing them the best ticket.

This ticket led to the ultimate reward for the first half of the trial.

Xi picked up the ring and handed it to him, then turned away without a word. Fang Hong checked the ring and found its attributes increased agility and calculative power, and without a second thought, he tossed it to Xiangzi who was standing nearby.

The adolescent caught the ring and paused for a moment before asking, ”This is for me?” The Giant Dragon had undoubtedly invested a lot in this trial; the spoils of war were no ordinary items. The ring’s design resembled a pair of spread bat wings, likely from the court of Osh, legendary in quality and possessing a bi-weekly charge of Web Art; it would also be considered quite valuable on the outside.

Xiangzi clearly didn’t consider himself a member of this team yet. Such precious items should, by rights, be allocated to one’s own people first, rather than to an ’outsider’ like him. He was used to this, as the difference in resources he received as part of Rain Listener, compared to regular members, was also significant.

Meeting the core members’ needs first seemed to have become an unwritten rule—

”Keep it to enhance your combat capabilities,” Fang Hong reminded him with a deadpan expression, ”Be careful not to lose it. That thing is worth a fortune outside. If you don’t use it well, we’d better sell it off.”

”No way, once it’s in my hands, it’s mine,” Xiangzi replied immediately. But though he said so, he was moved and carefully slipped the ring onto his index finger, meticulously polishing the wings with his thick leather gloves until they gleamed.

Fang Hong watched the boy’s embarrassing display and couldn’t help shaking his head—it was disgraceful.

So much for a heartless killer, it was just a piece of legendary equipment. If it were him—Fang Hong gave it some thought; well, legendary equipment indeed smells good. If he were honest with himself, he realized he really wanted a piece of legendary equipment.

And the thought that his first piece of legendary equipment was actually made for an outsider made Fang Hong’s heart bleed, as if he was about to bleed out from the loss.

He thought, if he had a piece of legendary equipment, he could use Fearless One a level earlier; with two pieces, that’d be two levels.

With three pieces...

Three pieces were out of the question, Fang Hong shook his head, dismissing those unrealistic fantasies.

Starting from the seventh tier, the entrance to the next level was no longer a teleportation gate but a sealed door. Of course, there were still two Guardian Colossi, each seven to eight meters tall, standing quietly on either side of the giant door. As the party approached, the colossi began to move conspicuously, wanting to attack the people of Silver Weslan.

But Fang Hong immediately ordered them to stop. It seemed the colossi didn’t recognize the team from before, or perhaps they only acknowledged the team arrangement when entering the trial, who knows.

Between the two colossi, in front of the great door, sat a massive wooden chest, the reward for the winners.

Parker couldn’t wait to run over, picking up a Tirio Dragon Crossbow from beside the box and prying open the lid. As everyone gathered around, they all inhaled sharply—when Toragotos spoke of a batch of Dwarf Heavy Crossbows, it really was a batch. Wrapped in oiled paper, the box contained layer upon layer of Dwarf Heavy Crossbows, at least twenty to thirty of them.

The Papalarians joyfully equipped one and tossed aside their previous Magic Guided Crossbows as if they were old shoes, leaving Fang Hong speechless. He walked over, picked it up, and returned it to the box—after all, even a mosquito’s meat has its value, not to mention that he had made this crossbow.
