Pillar of Yita

The Sunstone was the nemesis of all dark creatures, naturally including the undead and the Lizardman Prince. The latter merely used the Solar Ray emitted from the Golden Hand to reduce those succubi to ashes. As the squad of succubi perished, the Ancient Monarch Hunter stopped at a distance and suddenly raised the long horn in his hands. Without any visible motion, the distant sound of the horn traveled from the long horn, spreading throughout the dark underground world.

As the long sound of the horn rang out, the remaining Crow’s Claw Guards simultaneously raised their longswords, lined up, and charged toward Fang Hong and his group, while the Black Cloaked Knights also swished their long cloaks, placed their curved blades in front of their chests, and crouched to initiate the charge.

Seeing this scene, Fang Hong understood immediately that the opponent was going for a desperate attack—

Xiangzi and Parker, seeing this, instinctively turned around to retreat to the cave just as they had done before.

But Tainaric, who was behind them, easily grabbed the two, stopping them.

Seeing this, Fang Hong said, ”Don’t go, it’s pushing us to retreat, which would play right into its hands. It might just leave these Crow’s Claw Guards and take the Black Cloaked Knights away from here. By the time we find it again, who knows how long it will have been.”

He actually knew very well that if they were in the Cold Forest, this ancient monarch might have already retreated. In the past, eleven guilds had managed to surround and kill it by using a large number of people in an encirclement strategy. Of course, in this place, Toragotos was unlikely to let his phantom be used in that way, and then no one would be able to defeat this lord.

However, it was clearly no longer possible to use the tactics they used before.

This was the final battle; all that remained was to strike with all their might. They had been fighting here for so long, waiting for this moment, and if they couldn’t overpower it head-on at this stage, there wouldn’t be much left to say—it would simply mean they were not strong enough, and everyone would scatter in the face of danger.

Fang Hong took a deep breath, directed the Walkers to spread out to the left and right, and fixed his main attention on those Black Cloaked Knights, knowing that at this moment the biggest threat to them, other than the Ancient Monarch Hunter itself, was these twenty or more Black Cloaked Knights.

From the previous boss summoning the succubi, it was evident that these Black Cloaked Knights, clearly more formidable, were likely of a higher level than they had initially anticipated, meaning that even Tainaric, the strongest among them, might not be a match for these knights in one-on-one combat.

But the number of the enemy was even more than theirs.

Not to mention there were twenty to thirty Crow’s Claw Guards, plus the main body of the Ancient Monarch Hunter.

After the previous combat, Fang Hong and the others were somewhat fatigued, to take himself as an example: although the Reinforced Gloves were not very heavy, his hands had grown somewhat numb after being controlled intensely for such a long time.

Parker was also panting heavily, not to mention Xiangzi, who had rested three or four times, was tottering on his feet, and covered in sweat—yet it was unknown how this fellow had managed to endure until now, as he hadn’t even taken off his thick cap and mask.

Among the four, only Tainaric was in slightly better condition, but still far from his prime.

A fierce battle was no exaggeration.

But Fang Hong actually still had a method left; he turned his head and whispered to Xiangzi, ”Up—!”

The latter, exhausted, nodded and stepped forward, raised the Magic Guided Wand in his hand, and plunged it into the ground. An invisible ripple spread from under his feet to the front where the Black Cloaked Knights were charging and then, with a loud boom, a dirt wall rose up under the push of the Force Field Spell.

The Undead Knights were terrified, frantically pulling the reins in panic. But the great inertia did not shift with their will; the skeletal warhorses they rode collided with the dirt wall—the wall, formed by magic, was not sturdy, and as the knights wrapped in the forward momentum hit the wall, they broke through, but the skeletal warhorses were clearly not more durable than the dirt and scattered upon impact.

The Black Cloaked Knights along with the skeletal warhorses fell forward, a mass of riders and horses tumbling, falling heavily to the ground one after another.

Before they could scramble up, shadows flew overhead; Xiangzi used another spell to lift flying rocks and hurled them at these Undead Knights. His face was pale as if made of white paper, and from behind, Fang Hong patted his shoulder, saying, ”Leave these guys to you for now.”

Xiangzi nodded.

His flying rocks posed no threat to the Black Cloaked Knights, but they were enough to buy some time.

Fang Hong turned back just in time to see Parker’s explosive crossbow bolts land precisely among the Crow’s Claw Guard, and as the blast subsided, a spear broke through the air, pinning a skeleton Two-Handed Swordsman who had just risen to the ground.

Tainaric stepped forward through the swirling dust, grabbed the shaft of the spear, yanked it back, lifted it, and pointed it toward the encircling Undead coming up behind them.

By holding off these Crow’s Claw Guards, he naturally provided Fang Hong with the opportunity to pass through.

Two Walkers, one ahead of the other, met the impending Ancient Monarch Hunter, with Fang Hong following close behind.

Seeing this, the ancient king pulled on the reins for a sharp stop, halting not far away, with a gaze that didn’t truly exist, ”watching” Fang Hong who now stood before him—Fang Hong merely stretched out his hand, letting the Walkers block in front of him, then quietly locked eyes with the monarch.

One man, one rider, along with two Flexible Constructs, were quietly facing each other like this.

And in the outskirts shrouded in thick fog,

the knights of Silver Vislan were hurrying into the battlefield, with Sophie, accompanied by others, somewhat surprisedly raising her head to view this scene—behind her, a knight who had been incessantly talking, suddenly also stopped his chatter:

”I heard that during the battle in the Cold Forest, wherever the Ancient Monarch Hunter went, a cold mist would pervade, covering an area of several miles. Its minions would operate within that cold mist. Some veterans who participated in that battle later thought that it was a manifestation of Negative Energy; the minions of that Ancient Monarch Hunter...minions...”

He suddenly widened his eyes, staring dumbfoundedly at the battlefield scattered with skeletal fragments: ”Wait, where are its minions...?”
