Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 1476 - 722: Three Months (Part 3)

”Brother!”

”How are you, weren’t you hurt by radiation?”

”No worries. But we have a problem.”

Xu Xin shared his discoveries from over there with the two.

”Can it really recharge?” Xu Ying furrowed her brows, ”This is a bit troubling...”

”It’s a good thing we thought of it and went to investigate.” Li Wenxi said with a mix of fear and relief, ”If we hadn’t discovered it, our World Tree would have been destroyed again!”

”Yes, so this matter needs to be addressed with priority.”

Xu Xin looked at Xu Ying: ”Yingying, I plan to return to the alien invaders’ base for investigation tomorrow. Given a day, even if things go awry, everything should have settled down by then.”

”... Yes, that’s good.” Xu Ying nodded slightly, ”I can hold out for a day without much trouble. You should quickly return to the World Tree. Wang Lei and the others have come out several times asking what’s taking you so long to enter.”

”What about you?”

”I’ll stay here.” Xu Ying stretched lazily while sitting on the bed.

”Yingying, come inside with us.” Li Wenxi held her hand, ”using the method you thought of.”

”That method... it might not necessarily be reliable. There could be risks, I...” Xu Ying hesitated.

”Weren’t you confident about it earlier, saying it was reliable? You even explained the principle to me.”

Xu Xin also took hold of her hand: ”Come on, you need a long rest in your current state. Waiting outside for one day is less beneficial than resting in the World Tree.”

”Hmm... alright then...”

The three arrived at the roots of the World Tree.

”I’ll go in first, adjust the time flow of the World Tree to match the outside, and then I’ll contact you directly. You can come in when ready.”

”Alright.”

Xu Ying and Li Wenxi watched as Xu Xin entered the World Tree.

In less than ten seconds, Xu Xin’s call already came through.

”It’s ready, you can come in now.”

Xu Ying and Li Wenxi exchanged a glance.

Li Wenxi could clearly feel the sweat on Xu Ying’s palm.

”Don’t worry, it’ll be fine.”

The two entered into the roots of the World Tree.

Once fully inside, Xu Ying stood still for two seconds, then her eyes lit up!

”Yes! Yes! It worked!”

She exclaimed excitedly.

Although her theory indicated this had a ninety percent chance of working.

If it hadn’t been so, she wouldn’t have chosen to enter. Waiting outside for a day would have been more prudent.

Yet there was a bit of concern.

If it failed, she might have been erased instantly.

Luckily, it succeeded.

”Are you inside? Let’s head up first.”

”Yeah!”

The two took the vine ball elevator up to the World Tree’s inner space.

The expanse remained vast, reaching skies over ten thousand meters high.

Not much had changed compared to before.

In front of them lay a bustling town under construction!

A large number of low buildings had been erected.

After all, they’ve been outside for over an hour, while four or five days have passed within the World Tree.

These low structures were temporarily built to house the ten thousand people.

However, their attention wasn’t focused on this.

”How is it, have you felt any discomfort?” Li Wenxi asked with concern.

”None.” Xu Ying shook her head.

”I’m going to restore the World Tree’s internal time flow now.” Xu Xin said over the call.

”...Yes, go ahead and restore it.”

”...”

”...”

”Is it restored?” Xu Ying asked, trembling.

”It’s been restored for a while.” Xu Xin laughed over the call, ”Seems like you’re really okay.”

”...Is that so...”

Xu Ying exhaled deeply, finally showing a relaxed smile.

”Looks like I can live a while longer...”

She could feel the rapid disturbances in her body’s time-space being greatly suppressed within the World Tree.

No, perhaps it’s not suppression but a correlation between the disturbances and external time flow.

If she spends a hundred days inside the World Tree, only one day passes outside, and her body’s disturbance progresses as if a day had passed.

This was why she had been eager to enter the World Tree.

In the World Tree, her remaining lifespan could be multiplied by a hundred!

Now she succeeded!

”Let’s rest here for a while.” Li Wenxi smiled, leading her towards the town.

People bustling everywhere, the World Tree was lively.

...

Time passed swiftly.

Life inside the World Tree was far more leisurely than outside.

Plenty of time to utilize or waste.

Three months soon went by.

”Yingying, it’s time for us to act.” Xu Xin crossed his arms, looking at Xu Ying lounging on the sofa, playing with a controller, speaking with a hint of helplessness.

This girl, after a few days inside the World Tree, fell into this lazy state.

Now she barely needed to go out, just staying home playing all day.

”Ugh...”

Keke sprawled in front of Xu Ying, flipped over to expose its belly, yawned wide.

”Huh? Time to act?”

”We still haven’t dealt with the war vehicles, and we need to revisit the alien invaders’ base, shouldn’t you...”

Xu Ying lazily put down the controller, saying, ”How about, Brother, you help me take a look, I don’t want to move...”

”You...” Xu Xin laughed in disbelief.

”Oh come on, just kidding.”

Xu Ying stood up from the sofa, stretching lazily.

She was dressed casually in shorts and a t-shirt, exposing her navel, her hair a bit messy, completely unkempt.

Even like Keke, she yawned, tears nearly coming out.

”Hmm... it’s finally time to act.” She rubbed her eyes.

”Yes, we’ve prepared everything, it’s time to set out.” Xu Xin shook his head, looking at her, helpless.

He honestly felt three months of leisure had made his sister forget her previous intentions.
