Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 1472 - 721: Our Treehouse Still Remains (2)

Not everyone likes the hundredfold time dilation.

There were people who preferred to live outside before.

However, now that things haven’t stabilized yet, if they still want to live outside the World Tree, they might as well just stay there.

Shi Wanyun nodded gently, ”Alright, I understand.”

”Okay then...” Lou Fei’Er nodded reluctantly.

”Huh? Me too?” Zeng Tao pointed at herself, then sheepishly backed away, ”Uh... You guys should be enough, right? Maybe I should just take a break...”

”Don’t run!” Lou Fei’Er grabbed her, ”You’re coming with us!”

”Wuwuwu... I’m so tired! I want to rest!”

”Tired of what? Everyone’s just as tired!”

And at this moment, the roots of the World Tree in front of them began to transform.

Zhao Xiaochuan climbed out from inside.

”Brother Xin, how long have we been inside?”

”About a minute,” Xu Xin checked the time and said.

”Hmm, then there shouldn’t be any problem,” Zhao Xiaochuan confirmed, ”I’ve been in there for more than an hour.”

It seems that this newly born World Tree hasn’t changed much.

”Brother Xin, why haven’t you gone in all this time?” Zhao Xiaochuan asked puzzled.

”I need to communicate with those giant beasts,” Xu Xin explained, then asked, ”So, no changes inside?”

”There must have been changes,” Zhao Xiaochuan lamented, ”The tall buildings inside and the vegetation we planted have all disappeared. However, there’s a surprise—the treehouses we planted in the World Tree are still there!”

The treehouses are still there?

Xu Xin’s eyes lit up.

Those survival treehouses of theirs, each one was a factory!

Most of them were planted in the World Tree before, leaving only twenty or thirty outside.

He thought those treehouses might have disappeared along with the wilting World Tree.

But unexpectedly, there were still some left?

This was indeed a huge surprise.

Those treehouses are their foundation!

”It should be because the treehouses planted in the World Tree are like ’parasitic treehouses’, right?”

Li Wenxi speculated, ”The characteristic of the parasitic treehouses is that as long as the main treehouse doesn’t die, the parasitic treehouses can revive freely.”

”Brother Chaoyang also guessed that way,” Zhao Xiaochuan nodded, ”The treehouses are still there, but all the objects inside are gone. All the treehouses are empty. Oh, by the way, Ji Chaoyang and the others went underground, saying they wanted to look around and check for potential threats.”

”So... our equipment...” Zeng Tao asked tentatively.

”Yes, all gone.”

”Ah...” Zeng Tao rolled her eyes slightly, sighing, ”Those automation devices were painstakingly created by me...”

”All created by you?” Xu Xin glanced at her.

”At least half were!” She puffed up her chest, then deflated a bit, ”But they’re all gone... Sigh, do I have to do it all over again? I had finally automated all the weapon manufacturing...”

Then she shook her head, ”Never mind, forget about it, let Ma Hongwei do it all!”

”Uh...” Zhao Xiaochuan seemed confused, ”Then I’ll head back first, Brother Xin. Chatting outside like this feels like such a waste of time, you guys should come in too.”

With that, he waved at them and went back inside.

”Since there’s no problem, we won’t go in,” Shi Wanyun said to the others, ”Let’s go, we need to bring those people back.”

They left through the Teleportation Array.

Meanwhile, Xu Xin, along with Li Wenxi and Xu Ying, approached a giant beast.

A giant deer was sleeping soundly.

Its snores were thunderous.

”Ah, it’s asleep.” Li Wenxi looked up at the terrifyingly large, nearly ten-meter-long antlers of the giant deer.

”Hey, big guy!” Xu Ying shouted at it.

”————”

The giant deer’s head moved, and its eyes slowly opened.

Xu Xin began to communicate with it.

The communication was simple, as beasts of such size had intelligence not inferior to humans.

He quickly gleaned the information he wanted from the giant beast’s thoughts.

”All the war chariots gathered around the World Tree, injecting a potion into the trunk to destroy it.”

”Subsequently, the wilting of the World Tree accelerated, and within two minutes, the leaves of its entire crown turned yellow and fell thoroughly, leaving the World Tree a barren giant tree.”

”Meanwhile, cracks appeared on the trunk of the World Tree and gradually expanded, resembling a cracking pottery.”

”Ultimately, in just five minutes, the entire World Tree collapsed with a bang. It didn’t topple to the side but shattered like a blasted building, crumbling instantly into a cloud of dust, then dispersed into the wind.”

Xu Xin squatted down, gently rubbing the dust on the ground with his fingers, while explaining the final state of the World Tree to Li Wenxi and Xu Ying.

Hmm...

It’s not all dust.

There is a sensation of very dry wood chips.

”So, we’re stepping on the former World Tree now.”

Li Wenxi stomped on the dry leaves on the ground, making a creaking sound.

”To think it turned into fragments like this, it’s quite incredible...” Xu Ying muttered softly.
