Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 1471 - 721: Our Treehouse Still Exists

”Oh? Can we return already?”

After Xu Xin and Xu Ying informed everyone about the situation over there, they immediately decided to go back.

Compared to here, the World Tree with its hundredfold time flow is more suitable for them now.

Moreover, Li Wenxi and the others had already explained their actions over there to Ji Chaoyang and his group.

Everyone agreed that even if the alien invaders on that side still possessed some strength and still intended to attack the World Tree, at least in the short term, it’s unlikely they’ll come again.

And this short term could be a few days, a few weeks, or a few months.

Even the shortest span of a few days would be enough for them to develop for one or two years within the World Tree.

Therefore, if they can return, they should do so immediately, which is their judgment of the current situation.

They have a retreat route and can retreat to this marine World Tree.

The explorers passed through the coordinate portal and arrived under the World Tree.

The situation around the World Tree surprised them a bit.

”You haven’t gone in to check the situation yet?” Ji Chaoyang asked.

Xu Xin shook his head, ”No.”

He was previously brought over by Xu Ying to set coordinates, and since Xu Ying couldn’t enter the World Tree, he hadn’t entered to check himself.

Ji Chaoyang glanced at Xu Ying, then said, ”I’ll go in first to see the situation, and check whether this hundredfold time flow has been altered.”

He reached out to touch one of the stout roots of the World Tree that plunged vertically into the ground.

They needed to enter the World Tree through this root.

”Hmm... my permissions are still intact. Looks like this World Tree isn’t completely new,” Ji Chaoyang said.

The permission to enter and control the World Tree was granted to him by Xu Xin and Xu Ying, the real owners of this World Tree.

He thought that after the World Tree was destroyed and reborn, he would need to be re-granted permission.

But it turned out he didn’t need it.

”That’s natural.”

Xu Ying said from behind him.

”The weapons of those alien invaders against the World Tree only caused the trunk and crown above ground to wither. They couldn’t possibly destroy the most essential part, the root system of the World Tree spreading over hundreds of kilometers.”

”As long the roots are intact, this World Tree is still the original World Tree. The permissions we’ve given you definitely won’t change.”

Ji Chaoyang nodded, ”That’s best; it saves you the trouble of granting permissions again.”

While speaking, his hand touching the root merged into the root.

Half of his body was inside.

Seeing this, Xu Ying instinctively retreated two steps in shock.

Then she bumped into Li Wenxi behind her.

Ji Chaoyang paused for a moment, glanced at her, and then entered into the World Tree root.

”Haha, we can finally return to our own World Tree!”

”Quick, quick, quick, I want to sleep for a day and night! After all, only a few minutes have passed outside.”

Behind him, Wang Lei, Ma Hongwei, and the others eagerly followed and entered the World Tree.

”Yingying, you indeed...”

Li Wenxi reached out to support Xu Ying’s body, expressing concern.

Xu Ying, after bumping into Li Wenxi, almost lost her balance and fell because she was still physically weak.

If Li Wenxi hadn’t supported her, she might have fallen.

This made Li Wenxi truly realize her current state.

”Eep...”

Keke lay on Xu Xin’s shoulder, blinking at Xu Ying.

”I...”

Xu Ying quickly stood upright, instinctively glancing at Keke.

”Eep!”

Keke shrank its head back and leaped onto Xu Xin’s back, with two paws clutching Xu Xin’s shoulder, peeking its little head towards Xu Ying.

It was scared again.

”Sigh, you really can’t be fooled,” Xu Ying said helplessly, ”But, for now, there’s no need to worry too much.”

Ji Chaoyang and others had already entered the World Tree one after another.

Besides Xu Xin, Xu Ying, and Li Wenxi, Lou Fei’Er, Jin Yue, Shi Wanyun, and others also stayed behind.

”You guys should go inside the World Tree and check the situation first,” Xu Xin said to them, ”I’ll need to deal with some giant beasts first.”

He could communicate with the giant beasts by reading their thoughts.

These giant beasts presumably remained within the Crystal City area, likely witnessing the destruction of the World Tree.

Talking to them might reveal some information.

”I won’t go inside, I’ll stay with you,”

Li Wenxi said.

No need to elaborate for Xu Ying, as she cannot easily enter or exit the World Tree right now.

Even though she’s one of the two real owners of this World Tree.

”Then I’ll join you guys, what’s the point of me going in?” Lou Fei’Er said waving her hand.

Jin Yue remained silent and didn’t move.

”Then I will too!”

Zeng Tao’s arm was already reaching into the World Tree root, but she quickly withdrew her arm and ran back upon seeing the situation.

”No, you don’t need to follow,”

Xu Xin said, waving his hand.

Then he turned to Shi Wanyun and said, ”You guys, go up and check the situation first. If there’s no problem, bring them back from the World Tree on the sea.”

Shi Wanyun is the owner of that World Tree, and Lou Fei’Er had managed personnel order before. They are suitable for handling this task.

”Oh, and do ask them if they want to return. If they prefer to stay there, they may do so.”
