Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 1461 - 718: Seeing the Future We Longed For

Xu Xin and Xu Ying were now in a small room within the World Tree.

This was Old Yang’s private room.

Setting up a teleporter outside was unrealistic, since the World Tree housed many people and was monitored by alien invaders, so Xu Xin and his team’s coordinates could not be exposed.

Therefore, this was the most suitable location.

Likewise, Old Yang had teleportation privileges in his room, allowing him to help them achieve teleportation.

”Nothing much, the desert fox I was raising suddenly went mad, probably scared by the tremor just now.” Old Yang’s voice came from outside the door.

Setting the coordinates required drilling underground for fixation, naturally causing a lot of noise.

Meanwhile, Old Yang was outside helping to intercept people drawn by the sound.

Although this World Tree was controlled mostly by these people who were not brainwashed, it wasn’t entirely under friendly control.

Thus, Xu Xin and his team’s actions had to be temporarily kept secret.

”Right now, the alien invaders are in such chaos, they probably don’t have the mood to bother with these humans.” Xu Ying whispered.

Xu Xin manipulated the coordinate panel: ”It’s not clear what will happen; it’s best to be cautious for now.”

”But those alien invaders could never dream that this was done by us humans,” Xu Ying chuckled softly before asking Xu Xin quietly, ”How about it? Connected yet?”

”Of all the connection choices for coordinates... there’s no teleport point on our side of the World Tree.”

Xu Xin said this, squinting his eyes.

Now, there’s surprisingly only one connectable coordinate left.

Only the coordinates where the World Tree at sea is located are connectable.

The remaining coordinate signals have all disappeared.

As expected.

That World Tree... has indeed fallen?

For there, Xu Xin set up three coordinates.

One under the World Tree, one at the center of Crystal City, and another next to the Transmission Array on the edge of Crystal City, and one inside the World Tree.

A total of three coordinates.

Now, all are gone, even the one inside the World Tree.

Although the flow of time inside and outside differs, if the internal time of the World Tree isn’t dialed back to normal velocity, coordinates inside and outside can’t teleport, but binding can still be done.

Now, binding can’t even be achieved.

It’s already clear.

That World Tree has already been destroyed once.

Otherwise, it’s impossible for even the teleportation device inside the World Tree to disappear.

Ji Chaoyang’s words have indeed come true.

Their World Tree has completely fallen.

Hopefully, Ji Chaoyang and his team’s actions are swift, so they all survive.

”Ah... really gone?” Xu Ying pursed her lips, ”That World Tree over there... has already been destroyed once?”

”Don’t forget we still have a backup plan, it’s not a big deal.” Xu Xin’s hand left the metal pillar of the coordinates, looking at Xu Ying, ”But now, it’s only you who can take us back.”

”In that case, why don’t I take you back now!” Xu Ying took a deep breath and said.

”Oh?” Xu Xin was surprised, ”Who was it just now that said they wouldn’t go back?”

”That... that was because I thought once we went back, we couldn’t return!” Xu Ying punched him, somewhat annoyed.

”However, now that the coordinates are set here, there’s no issue.” Xu Ying touched the coordinates before her.

Setting the coordinates means they can travel back and forth via them.

Xu Ying wouldn’t need to hold back her long-distance teleportation, possibly only usable one last time.

It was her first time dealing with coordinates; given her unrestrained teleportation ability, she usually didn’t value these things.

But now, these coordinates had helped her considerably.

”Then let’s go, we should go back and check the situation now!” Xu Ying grabbed Xu Xin’s arm.

”Don’t rush, at least notify Old Yang first.”

Outside, Old Yang’s voice interacting with people continued for two more minutes before stopping.

Half a minute later, Old Yang opened the door and came in, quickly closing it behind him.

”You two really give me a headache...” Old Yang complained, not for the first time, ”Such loud noise, you should’ve warned me ahead.”

”Old Yang, can you assure us your room is safe?” Xu Xin asked in a low voice.

”As long as you don’t create such noise again, this place is safe.” Old Yang said, exasperated, ”This is my room, only I have the authority to open it.”

”Then next time we come here...” Xu Ying said.

Old Yang handed Xu Xin a small gadget.

A button paired with a sensor antenna, in a very retro style.

”A simple paging device.” Old Yang whispered, ”Press this button and I’ll know you’re here, so I can come find you and open the door.”

The simpler something is, the less likely it is to be intercepted.

Xu Xin put away the small paging device: ”Got it, Old Yang. Let’s hope we can trust each other.”

Old Yang looked at him deeply: ”Rest assured, as long as you haven’t deceived me, you can trust me.”

Saying that, he left the room, closing the door behind him.

”...Brother, shall we go?”

”No, don’t return to the World Tree yet.”

Xu Xin reached towards one of the metal pillars of the coordinates: ”Since the coordinates can now connect with the World Tree at sea, we should... first go check it out.”
