Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 595: Chapter 409: The Vision in the Prophecy

The two of them immediately arrived at the edge of the treehouse.

The large hole that had just been dug out at the bottom of the treehouse had already healed.

The treehouse’s self-healing ability is quite strong.

They manipulated the roots to enter the treehouse.

Inside the treehouse, nothing seemed to have changed.

Because Lou Fei’Er had previously taken out the furniture and everything, the treehouse had basically returned to the way it was when they first came.

Empty.

There were no traces to be seen.

Perhaps those statues had done something inside the treehouse, or destroyed something, but...

Due to the treehouse’s auto-repair function, the interior of the treehouse had completely returned to normal.

...No.

Those statues definitely must have done something inside the treehouse.

Otherwise, the pterodactyl statue wouldn’t have directly targeted him.

He and Lou Fei’Er searched for a long time inside the treehouse but couldn’t find any clues, ultimately having to give up.

”So, our mission for today is over, right?”

Because there was no place to sit inside the treehouse, Lou Fei’Er propped herself up with her hands and sat on the windowsill, then rested her chin on her hands and asked.

”Should we go back?”

It was already past three in the afternoon.

The sun was close to the horizon, and it probably wouldn’t be long before it got dark.

Although the snow in area 188 had almost completely melted, the days were still very short.

After all, this winter season wasn’t over yet.

He took another look at the list of area 188.

Niu Fugui’s name was still lit.

Fortunately, he wasn’t dead.

Hopefully, he would successfully climb.

Xu Xin contacted Ji Chaoyang and the others, asking about the situation on his treehouse side.

Especially whether there had been any changes by the giant pit.

The result was somewhat unexpected and puzzling to him.

There were no changes at all.

The giant pit now had no statues inside and was very safe.

Not only Ji Chaoyang, but even those survivalists who had sought refuge had entered the giant pit to try the Transmission Array.

After all, they’d previously used the coordinates made by Xu Xin for teleportation and hadn’t yet tried the feeling of teleporting with this sky-reaching Transmission Array.

Reportedly, the Transmission Array received unanimous praise because it didn’t have the dizzying side effects of the coordinates.

However, there was something else that surprised Xu Xin.

The giant pit was actually under constant surveillance.

If even now there’s still nothing happening...

Where did that pterodactyl statue go?

Where did it run off to with Xiaohong?

The direction it left was indeed towards the light beam.

”Are things on your side all wrapped up? I think we can try to go underground and explore,” Ji Chaoyang said. ”In my prophecy, it’s exactly this underground scene. I... saw the stone statue humans you were talking about.”

Xu Xin’s heart skipped a beat.

”Tell me in detail.”

Only then did Ji Chaoyang begin to explain.

With the help of so many survivors this time, his prophecy could now last nearly five minutes.

A qualitative leap.

In his prophecy, he kept descending along a staircase for about five minutes.

The staircase was long and spiraled downward, so no matter how good one’s vision was, one couldn’t see what was below.

But at the end of the prophecy, he finally reached the bottom of the stairs, and...

Saw a door.

A metal door, looking very thick and heavy.

He stepped forward, opened the door, and saw a statue.

In an almost empty small room, a female statue was sitting on a somewhat crude stone block.

The female statue’s posture was elegant, and the clothing carved on her body was very lavish, giving a noble feel.

When Ji Chaoyang pushed the door open and entered, she raised her head and looked at him.

The prophecy ended there.

”...Does your prophecy always have to stop at the critical moment?”

Xu Xin felt quite frustrated.

”Who knows, maybe this is what this world wants me to know,” Ji Chaoyang was also helpless.

In fact, this prophecy was already the result of his efforts.

After exhausting all methods to extend the prophecy time, he finally reached the bottom of the stairs and pushed open the door.

Previously, the prophecies only had him continuously walking on the stairs.

Fortunately, he seemed to be able to control his movement speed in the prophecy.

Of course, it can’t really be called control.

Probably, it’s just that he now thinks he should walk faster here in the future.

The him in the prophecy is himself in the future.

With this thought, naturally, he would walk a bit faster.

In any case, by extending the prophecy time and altering his actions in the prophecy, he finally obtained this information.

Xu Xin started to ponder.

Listening to Ji Chaoyang’s description, that female statue must be Xue Lan.

And that room...

Empty, with only a simple stone block.

Isn’t that a prison?

Has Xue Lan been imprisoned underground again?

But what about Chang Yin?

”There’s one more thing I’m puzzled about,” Ji Chaoyang said, ”I had no intention of venturing underground alone. But during those five minutes in my prophecy, I was by myself.”

”... So, you mean you haven’t seen me?”

”That’s right. You’re not with me. Not just you, everyone else isn’t here either.” Ji Chaoyang said his suspicion, ”Perhaps, once we enter underground, we’ll be separated due to some condition. Like... when we climbed outside the snow mountain.”

Xu Xin remained silent.

That possibility indeed exists.

”Or maybe, we found several paths, and out of self-confidence, chose to explore separately.” Ji Chaoyang speculated again.

”... Regardless, the space beneath this iron door definitely needs to be explored.” Xu Xin recounted the incident with the dragon statue he’d experienced here.

”... You actually went through such a thing.” Ji Chaoyang was silent for a moment before speaking, ”Return as soon as you can. I feel this needs to be resolved quickly. The people you mentioned just now, the ones you subdued, will they stay in your protected area?”

”Yes, I have a genuine method to control them.”

”Makes sense, so I won’t ask further.”

After hanging up, Lou Fei’Er who had been eavesdropping finally asked, ”Are we going back?”

Xu Xin nodded.

Indeed, it’s time to return.

”Hey... wait a minute!” Seeing Xu Xin already about to leave, Lou Fei’Er quickly stopped him.

”What’s the matter?” Xu Xin looked at her.

”It’s... um...” Lou Fei’Er pursed her lips, ”My treehouse, it should be possible to transplant it, right?”

Xu Xin glanced at her, ”Isn’t having one main treehouse enough?”

”Of course not!” Lou Fei’Er immediately replied, ”It’s too inconvenient! I have a watch, but once I leave, I lose contact with you guys and can only reach people in Zone 187. Plus, my main treehouse is unguarded, and unsafe. Who knows when it might be destroyed, and if that happens, the treehouse core will be lost too. Might as well transplant it straight away.”

She looked at Xu Xin eagerly, hoping to transplant her main treehouse alongside them.

Xu Xin pondered for a moment.

Actually, he could set a transmission coordinate here and let Lou Fei’Er stay in her main treehouse.

This way, she’d be practically living next door anyway.

She had become a trustworthy person now, so letting her return to her main treehouse wasn’t an issue.

”No.” Lou Fei’Er immediately refused, waving her hands, ”I want to stay over there, not here. Besides, having to transmit each time makes me dizzy.”

”Didn’t Sister Xuefei give you medicine—”

”That’s only to reduce it after taking it, but the moment I transmit over, it’s still quite uncomfortable.” Lou Fei’Er found reasons to reject.

In the end, the two reached an agreement.

Let’s allow her to transplant it.

Zone 187 now, already half of the strong ones were under his control, and overall it’s too weak, no longer needing much attention.

Moreover, Zeng Tao and Qin Fu both still have two treehouses.

Since Lou Fei’Er was so keen on transplanting, let her go ahead with it.

”Yay!” Lou Fei’Er instantly became somewhat excited, swiftly pulling a blue-grade iron axe from her backpack, ”Let’s chop the treehouse!”

She headed to the center of the treehouse, without a moment of hesitation, directly chopping down.

As if afraid that Xu Xin might change his mind.

”Crack!”

After a few hits, the treehouse floor had been split open.

”Retrieve the treehouse core, then we’ll... what’s the matter?”

Xu Xin noticed Lou Fei’Er staring dazedly at the hollow center of the treehouse trunk, her mouth slightly open.

”... Hurry and see! This is where the issue lies!” She immediately gestured to Xu Xin.

Xu Xin went over and looked into the hollow tree trunk.

Then, he frowned immediately.

”This is...”

Inside the trunk, unexpectedly...

Had already turned to stone?!

The empty interior cavity of the tree trunk, originally made of wood, began petrifying upwards from the bottom.

Now, already half of the trunk had turned to stone, and moreover, showing signs of continual upward spread.

Seemingly slow, but perhaps within a single day, the entire tree trunk interior could become completely petrified!

”Step outside and check if the trunk exterior has petrified.”

”Okay!”

Lou Fei’Er hurriedly left the treehouse then shouted upwards, ”No, outside it looks perfectly normal!”

What’s going on here...?

Xu Xin stared at the treehouse core which was half-exposed above ground.

Perhaps now calling it a petrified treehouse core seemed more fitting.

Surprisingly, the treehouse core had also turned to stone!

But it hasn’t become fully petrified.

A pale radiant glow still emitted from within the cracked petrified exterior.

To him, it felt like the treehouse core was encased in a stone layer with minute cracks.

Lou Fei’Er had already returned.

”Let me head down and see!” Saying so, she was about to jump into the pit when Xu Xin held her back.

”If you go down and become petrified, what then?”

Xu Xin felt that the treehouse core had already profoundly transformed.

It was no longer the familiar treehouse core that repelled mutant creatures or upgraded blue-grade materials to purple-grade.

Perhaps it might even cause them harm.

”But...”

She feared Xu Xin might change his mind again, not allowing the transplantation.

That wouldn’t do!

She certainly didn’t want to stay in a low little treehouse, losing contact the moment she left.

Xu Xin glanced out the window.

The treehouse core had been affected...

Could the protected area of the treehouse be impacted too?

Could it be that the danger Qin Fu mentioned, below the ground three hundred meters away from the treehouse, was due to this?

If that’s really the case, he definitely couldn’t allow the treehouse to remain here!

It had to be eradicated!

Just then, Lou Fei’Er seized the opportunity when Xu Xin wasn’t paying attention and jumped directly into the tree pit.

”Hey! You...” Xu Xin failed to grab her, allowing her to jump right in.

Was it truly necessary to be this urgent?
