Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 563: Chapter 383: Truly Worthy of the Luck Amplification

Xu Xin looked towards her treehouse, only to see her sitting alone beneath it.

”What are you sitting here for?” Xu Xin walked over with some surprise.

Behind him, the people who came with him were already lying down.

At this time, sounds also emerged from the nearby parasitic treehouse.

”Xu Xin big boss... ah no, Brother Xin’s here! Hello, Brother Xin!”

The people in the surrounding parasitic treehouses were drawn to Xu Xin and peeked their heads out.

They all heard the sound of the portal opening, so they looked over here.

Then they heard Xu Xin and Wen Guixin talking.

Suddenly, several heads popped out from the parasitic treehouses.

They were now gathered together chatting idly.

After all, this was their first night of collective survival.

Seeing Xu Xin coming over, the surroundings became lively again.

”Coming here in the middle of the night, what’s the relationship between Brother Xin and Sister Gui Xin?”

”Are you dumb? Didn’t you see him bringing new people over? Obviously, he’s here to give tags to the newcomers.”

”What? Brother Xin is going to flip the newcomer’s tags?”

”What, Brother Xin is going to flip Sister Gui Xin’s tag?”

”Are you deaf heirs or what!”

”Enough with the jokes, I bet Brother Xin doesn’t dare take on Sister Gui Xin...”

”I dare even if Brother Xin doesn’t! Sister Gui Xin, step on me!”

”Hey, why is Sister Gui Xin sitting under the treehouse?”

The area was bustling.

”What are you guys talking about! Go and play your games!” Wen Guixin chided slightly embarrassed.

”So why are you sitting here?” Xu Xin was already by her side.

She stood up, brushed off the dirt from her legs and backside, and awkwardly said, ”Well... Those ten people are in my treehouse now, and... I accidentally got infected with one of them, good thing there’s a cure... I was afraid of more issues, so I came out here myself.”

”Why didn’t you just let them come out?” Xu Xin said a bit speechlessly.

”They’ve been running around all day, got to let them have a good rest, right?” Wen Guixin explained.

Xu Xin raised his eyebrow slightly.

Didn’t expect Wen Guixin to be kind-hearted?

She’s trying to win people over with virtue.

There’s honestly no need.

Conquering with virtue only works in peaceful times.

In troubled times when everyone is struggling to survive, if there’s a real life threat, who cares how good you are to them?

Stick and carrot, conquer through strength, is what’s needed in this world.

However, for Wen Guixin, it doesn’t matter.

If Li Wenxi did this, Xu Xin would have to teach her a lesson or two.

But for Wen Guixin, she can do whatever she wants.

After all, her strength is enough to conquer everyone in most situations.

”Did Sister Gui Xin force out those newcomers? They’re so ungrateful!”

”Sister Gui Xin, come sit in my treehouse!”

”Come over here, come here!”

”What’s tiring about skateboarding all day? I’ve even experienced a wolf pack!”

”Mentioning wolf packs again, I remember Sister Gui Xin’s heroic posture...”

”Have babies!”

”Sister Gui Xin, come to my treehouse!”

The people in the surrounding treehouses had been eavesdropping on their conversation.

Hearing Wen Guixin didn’t dare return to her treehouse, they started talking again.

Xu Xin smiled slightly.

See, these people saved by her were now basically completely conquered by her strength.

Not to mention them, even Wang Lei and Zhao Xiaochuan had started calling her sister.

Though he hadn’t witnessed it himself, he could imagine how exaggerated that scene must have been.

”You guys stop it, hey! Don’t come down! All of you go back! I’m going up soon, no use coming down!” Wen Guixin stopped these people from coming down the treehouse.

Then, she turned to look at the few people behind Xu Xin: ”These are your people? Then we have... um... eighteen more people, so everyone gets two each.”

She immediately pulled Xu Xin into the treehouse and made hand tags for all the newcomers.

At the same time, she contacted the other explorers to come and take the third batch of people.

Xu Xin then inquired a bit about their respective abilities.

None had the skills he wanted.

So before others came, he teleported back to his own treehouse.

Once he was back, the contrast between liveliness and quietness was evident.

Compared to Wen Guixin’s side, his side was indeed much emptier and quieter.

However, this was exactly what Xu Xin wanted.

Returning to the treehouse, he sat on the sofa to rest for a while.

On the sofa’s armrest, Keke was still lying there shimmering crystals.

Oh no, getting sleepy due to influence...

There are other things to do, can’t sleep!

He quickly got up and went to the first level of the treehouse.

When rescuing those survivors, he casually killed more than a dozen wolves, which he also packed into his backpack.

Taking advantage of the luck amplification now, he immediately took them out and disassembled the corpses on the spot.

”...Definitely deserves to be called luck amplification.”

Looking at the purple-grade materials in front of him, Xu Xin exclaimed.

The corpses of more than a dozen low-level mutated creatures produced seven pieces of purple-grade materials for him!

Among them, three pieces of purple-grade beast skins, one piece of purple-grade beast bones, and one piece of purple-grade beast tendons.

Aside from these beast tendons, bones, and skins, he also obtained two pieces of special purple-grade ingredients.

[Snow Wolf’s Heart (Purple): Consuming enhances the user’s entire body muscles, greatly increases endurance, and reduces energy consumption during activities. Effective on non-survivors too.

Cooking improves the taste!]

Another heart!

Purple-grade heart!

And, I got two of them directly!

The heart’s effect is to strengthen the muscles, enhance stamina, and reduce physical exhaustion.

If it’s effective for non-survivors too, then the second heart is for Mimi.

Mimi’s stamina is its biggest weakness.

It has to be compensated.

As for himself, if he didn’t have two, there wouldn’t be a need to take it himself.

His stamina is decent, and the life force absorbed by the lance makes him braver in battle, so he’s not lacking in stamina at all.

Of course, since there’s an extra one, he might as well eat it himself.

After all, the body is the capital!

Speaking of stamina and physical strength, he thought of that special area.

The area where the blood veins of mutated creatures light up and physical strength is restored to its peak.

Before the end of winter, Area 188 is full of safe zones; it’s a good time to explore there.

That area is north of Li Wenxi’s treehouse, and the reward for being first in the regional strength rankings expanded her treehouse protection range by three kilometers.

It should be much safer over there now.

In a few days, when the snow in Area 188 mostly melts, and Mimi Silver King recovers its activities, he’s going to check it out.

However, the luck augmentation is indeed ridiculous.

Previously, out of so many snow wolves, only a purple-grade beast hide was sheared, but this time there’s beast bones, beast tendons, and even special ingredients.

If his other augmentations weren’t also strong and generally useful, he’d consider choosing luck augmentation every day in the future.

Thinking of this, he suddenly felt he lost a bit today.

He should have killed more snow wolves today.

Right!

He directly asked in the explorer group: ”Did you all dismantle the snow wolves you killed today?”

Zhao Xiaochuan: ”I didn’t kill any snow wolves, Brother Xin, are you low on materials?”

Wang Lei: ”I only killed a few, the rest ran away. I’ve already dismantled the ones I got.”

Wen Guixin: ”It’s comfortable now; finally, everyone left... I did kill a pack, but there were too many people around, and I was focused on them, so I forgot to let the wolf pack self-destruct, and they all got completely eroded by toxins.”

Ji Chaoyang: ”I’ve also dismantled mine, what’s up?”

Well then.

This is a real loss...

He should have told them earlier in the morning to leave the bodies for him.

Xu Xin explained his augmentation to them.

Li Wenxi: ”There’s such an augmentation! I want it too, maybe it could give me a hundredfold drop rate each time.”

Qin Yunlong: ”Luck? And this kind of augmentation?”

Ji Chaoyang: ”Your augmentation is interesting. I haven’t had this augmentation yet.”

Wen Guixin: ”Several low-level mutated creatures, seven pieces of purple-grade materials? This random augmentation is so strong! Random augmentation... thinking about it now, I feel like I really lost out... Back then, I had killed the guardian creatures near the vortex long ago; who knew I had to enter the vortex to dispel the tornado! The more I think about it, the worse it gets...”

Wen Guixin probably killed the guardian beasts earlier than he and Ji Chaoyang did, yet she didn’t realize she needed to enter the tornado.

She indeed missed the {Random Augmentation} ability.

Everyone agreed that from now on, after killing beasts, they’d hand them over to Xu Xin for dismantling.

Xu Xin then sent a message to Wang Lei: ”Do you have time to process two ingredients for me?”

Wang Lei’s treehouse focuses on kitchen augmentations, so handing it to him would maximize the materials’ capabilities.

Actually, Lou Fei’Er’s additions also focus on the kitchen, but since her current treehouse is just a temporary small one, its decor hasn’t been improved much. It’s fine for daily cooking, but augmentation materials should be given to Wang Lei.

Wang Lei immediately replied: ”Sure, Brother Xin, it’s the purple-grade materials from the random augmentation, right? I’m envious! I just brought two people back, and we’re having a collective BBQ. I can process it for you; why don’t you come over and join us for some fun?”

Wang Lei, like Li Wenxi, was hosting a welcome party.

But true, with over ten new survivors coming over at once, it’s necessary to get to know each other since they’ll be living together in the future.

But it was already almost ten o’clock...

Xu Xin declined: ”Never mind, I won’t come. You all should be careful. It’s still not a very safe period.”

Wang Lei: ”Don’t worry, Brother Xin, we’re all in my treehouse. It’s very stable. Don’t forget I also have a plant heart!”

Xu Xin sent him the purple-grade heart, telling him to eat one himself and give the other to his Mimi.

”Seriously?! You’re giving a purple-grade ingredient to a pet, Brother Xin! Can I be your pet?”

”...Get lost!”

”Hahahahaha!”

But, Mimi is not a pet.

It’s his strongest combat force.

Soon, Wang Lei completed the trade for the prepared hearts.

One became a skewer, the other was simply prepared.

The enticing aroma made Keke, who was sleeping, open her eyes and raise her little head with a ”whimper.”

Silver King, who was lying nearby, and Mimi also raised their heads, looking in this direction.

”...Awoo...” Silver King glanced at it, then lowered its head back down and whimpered.

Alright, it recognized that this was a wolf’s heart.

Mimi jumped over lightly.

It was attracted by the aroma of the heart.

Xu Xin tossed the simply prepared heart to it.

It gulped the whole heart down in two or three bites, then ran back to lie by the fireplace.

He began eating for himself.

”Whimper!” Keke climbed onto Xu Xin’s leg, looking at the skewers, nudging Xu Xin’s arm, wanting to eat them.

Don’t be fooled by the little one eating bamboo leaves or apples; it is carnivorous and interested in meat, especially purple-grade.

”This can’t be for you.” Xu Xin rubbed Keke’s head and gave her a blue-grade apple.

He needs to eat the whole heart alone to ensure the effect.

The aromatic skewers amplified his appetite, and within minutes, he finished all of them.

His limbs and body felt warm, and all his muscles had a slight tremorous feeling, just like the introduction mentioned, being transformed.

Nice.

Feeling the change in his body, Xu Xin smiled.

Today ended perfectly.

Tomorrow, the few from Area 187 are coming over.

Hopefully, they bring him some surprises.

The area around his treehouse is indeed a bit empty.
