Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 581: Chapter 398: Humanoid Gundam

”Digging lotus roots...” Qin Fu exclaimed, ”What is this? A human-shaped Gundam?”

”...No wonder she’s completely immovable.”

Though Lou Fei’Er had long been impressed by Zeng Tao’s strength, witnessing her wield a giant sword larger than herself...

The visual impact was overwhelming!

”Is this her ability?” Xu Xin’s eyes lit up slightly.

So strong!

Is it like Wang Lei’s power amplification?

There seems to be a difference.

Wang Lei possesses immense strength, almost absurdly large, but his strength is more evident in carrying weights.

The name [Strongman] implies the ability to lift very heavy items, but when it comes to combat, his talent is lacking.

If it weren’t for his [Strongman Belt] giving him control over his strength, his combat ability might not differ much from an ordinary person’s, apart from being able to wield weapons too heavy for regular people.

Additionally, he cannot wield excessively heavy weapons; if the weapon is too heavy, lifting it is one thing, but once swung, whether he’d be taken airborne by the weapon is another matter entirely.

Wang Lei even joked among explorers, saying he was like a rocket engine that takes off as soon as he exerts force.

Thus, the knife Xu Xin made for him, although heavy, was within his control.

But this Zeng Tao, using her small body to wield a gigantic sword, was frantically swinging it among the statues.

Ordinarily, her weight should be much lighter than the sword.

Even swinging the sword would definitely cause her to be taken off balance by the sword’s weight.

The sword was likely several times heavier than Xu Xin.

But in reality, she appeared as steady as a rock, and the sword in her hand seemed to be a mere plastic toy.

At a position seventy meters away from the treehouse, the statues around her were sliced and shattered by her over-heavy sword.

The sword, after each swing, struck the ground with a resounding boom, even causing the three standing in the treehouse to feel the vibrations through the floor.

And the feeling she gave was like...

Chopping vegetables, effortlessly.

Even her body only vibrated slightly with the tremor of the ground.

Could it be that this sword was weightless in her hands?

Just like the purple-grade sword Xu Xin made for Wang Lei,?

But isn’t this a blue-grade weapon?

Then, she went further and began spinning with the sword among the statues!

”Crack, crack, crack!”

Several statues were struck by the spinning sword.

The statues that managed to withstand were knocked far away, while those that couldn’t were instantly cleft in two by the blade.

The statues cut in half hadn’t even hit the ground before the blade spun around again, slicing them into several pieces.

A veritable meat grinder!

Oh no, more like a stone crusher!

Under the stone-crushing whirlwind of the sword, all surrounding statues retreated a few meters, moving away from Zeng Tao.

Yet, Zeng Tao continued to spin without halting her actions.

Using the inertia from the spin, she gathered speed, and the sword with explosive kinetic energy propelled her directly towards the nearest statue!

”Ha!”

”Crack!”

With astonishing speed and tremendous force, the statue stood no chance to dodge and was obliterated by the sword!

The sword, having sliced through the statue, didn’t even pause, cutting deeply into the ground, creating a ditch over ten centimeters wide!

This attack method, truly a human-shaped Gundam!

”Digging lotus roots...” Qin Fu exclaimed again, ”This is truly fierce!”

Zeng Tao lifted the sword handle lightly.

”Crunch” went the sound as the sword’s blade was effortlessly pulled from the ground, which she then smashed onto the floor again.

She then glanced back at the window, flashing a slightly proud smile, and turned to swing her sword again.

Xu Xin exhaled lightly.

Watching Zeng Tao fight really stirs one’s spirits, making one feel invigorated.

Especially given her small stature, wielding such a gigantic sword, accomplishing such feats...

The contrast is simply outstanding!

”Do you think there’s something seriously wrong with this world?”

Qin Fu leaned against the window, arms crossed over his chest, watching Zeng Tao’s destructive display, he sighed.

”Why would such a power be given to such a little person? Why not me? Could we swap powers? Can I exchange my powers with hers?”

His eyes showed a hint of envy.

After all, as a man, who wouldn’t want to fight with grand gestures, experiencing the thrill of every punch landing solid, every sword strike carving deep?

Even Qin Fu, who usually seemed nonchalant and indifferent about most things, was drawn to this manner of fighting.

Xu Xin glanced at him.

His words openly acknowledged his special abilities.

Unexpectedly, of the three people he recruited, two had special abilities.

In such a distant place from them, there were also individuals with special abilities.

Could it be that each region has individuals with special abilities?

Or perhaps the area they’re located in also contains parts of a giant’s body.

According to their prior conjecture, those with special abilities are located close to the giant’s body parts.

But maybe the concentration of giant body parts around here is a bit dense.

Aren’t the giant’s bodies meant to be scattered around the world?

Why are there so many here...

”Do you also have any abilities?” Xu Xin asked.

”Wow, that sword is satisfying...” Qin Fu was still commenting on Zeng Tao’s moves and turned to Xu Xin upon hearing the question, ”Why, do you really want to know?”

He raised the purple-grade bow in his hand with a mysterious smile: ”Guess, what my ability is?”

Seeing the bow in his hand, Xu Xin contemplated slightly.

Is his ability related to the purple-grade bow?

Archery skills?

Or perhaps...

He began to consider the materials for crafting a purple-level wooden bow.

To craft a purple-level wooden bow, you need purple-level wood and purple-level beast tendons.

Xu Xin himself didn’t have many purple-level beast tendons.

This material requires a large number of corpses to be decomposed just to obtain a few strands.

And the prerequisite is having a purple-level boning knife, which means a piece of purple-level stone.

As for purple-level wood, that’s even rarer.

If it weren’t for the treehouse core upgrading the wood, Xu Xin probably still wouldn’t have acquired purple-level wood.

The other party likely doesn’t have a treehouse core.

Which means that his wood was probably obtained by cutting down purple-level trees!

From his experience running across two large regions, purple-level trees...

Should not exist in the natural world at all.

He rode the Silver King, or used a skateboard, traveling across so many places.

Besides his and Ji Chaoyang’s treehouses, he hadn’t seen the ”purple” glow on any plant.

Nor had he seen even a piece of purple-level soil.

Judging by the name ”Land of Harvest” for the purple-level soil, such specially named soil probably doesn’t exist in the natural world either.

So, Qin Fu’s purple-level trees...

The most likely case is that he purchased purple-level fertilizer from the point store, upgraded the soil, grew the wood, and harvested it after it matured.

A piece of soil costs twenty thousand points, this guy must have killed quite a lot of mutated creatures during the beast wave.

Xu Xin’s side had Lou Fei’Er controlling explosive bolts to bombard the beast horde crazily, and he went out to fight himself, only barely earning over thirty thousand points.

He didn’t have explosive bolts, yet earned that many points on his own...

I have to say, he truly deserves to be the second talent in the entire region.

Not to be underestimated!

However, that’s not the main point.

The main point is that the trees capable of producing purple-level wood are all woody plants!

The growth time for woody plants is twice that of shrubs like the red berries!

That means that even if Xu Xin went to plant woody plants, he probably wouldn’t have a harvest yet.

After all, his red berries haven’t matured for long.

Yet Qin Fu has already crafted a purple-level wooden bow.

”Is your ability related to plants?” Xu Xin asked.

”Oh, guessed right.” Qin Fu looked surprised, then snapped his fingers, ”That’s right, it’s related to plants. Not bad...”

”An ability related to plants?” Lou Fei’Er also turned to look at him, ”You really have a special ability, huh.”

”What? You all can have it, but I can’t?” Qin Fu shrugged.

Xu Xin and Lou Fei’Er exchanged a glance without speaking.

These two people are exactly the talents Xu Xin needs the most right now.

...They must be kept.

Outside, Zeng Tao, after a period of intense fighting, had now stopped her actions.

The stone statues of the intermediate mutated creatures no longer approached her, even slowly retreating.

Around her, countless broken pieces of stone statues, severed and shattered, lay scattered on the ground.

Some of the larger fragments still moved, like severed beast legs that could still bend and stretch.

And smaller fragments also trembled slightly, showing obvious signs of activity.

This indicates that these intermediate mutated creature statues are still alive even after being shattered.

Just like those previous statues.

Xu Xin narrowed his eyes slightly.

Do these intermediate mutated creature statues truly have no weaknesses?

”Crack!”

Among the rubble, Zeng Tao embedded her large knife into the ground.

Her blue-level stone knife’s blade and edge were filled with nicks.

Her knife and the opposing statues were both made of stone.

With the opponent getting damaged, her large knife naturally could not be spared.

Moreover, intermediate mutated creature statues have body parts stronger than those of other beasts.

The strength of these body parts is the strongest within the blue level.

So, even though Zeng Tao’s blue-level stone knife was crafted using her ability, stronger than an ordinary blue-level stone knife, it had been almost entirely worn out in her repeated attacks.

She looked at the large knife, her eyes filled with a pained expression.

Muttering to herself, ”Why did I jump out to show off... Just to demonstrate my strength to that bastard? Boohoohoo, I’m really at a loss, why do I care about that scoundrel!”

She truly felt heartbroken.

Despite her powerful combat ability, she could only rank eighth in the 187th district due to some very distressing reasons.

The area where her treehouse is located is severely resource-poor.

She couldn’t produce any high-level equipment.

Her large knife consumed much more materials than regular weapons.

This knife she held in her hands required hoarding materials for quite some time.

Before this, to save for the materials of this large knife, she didn’t dare use advanced materials and stuck with low-level weapons.

With her fighting style, using low-level weapons meant destroying one after the other.

This left her increasingly impoverished.

Fortunately, after the world trading platform opened, many previously precious resources in the 187th district could be exchanged at low prices, providing her some relief.

After collecting for a long while, she finally gathered the materials needed for this weapon.

But by that time, the previous activity rankings had already become set.

In the last treehouse defense event of the first stage, she was practically fighting barehanded to the eighth place.

Zeng Tao looked at the damaged large knife in her hands, sniffled, her eyes reddened with heartbreak, tears almost spilling out.

She clenched her teeth, turning back with a fierce glare at the three people inside the window.

”The more I think about it, the angrier I get! No, I have to make that damn rogue compensate me! He must have lots of good stuff!”
