Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 585: Chapter 401 Slip Away_2

He was somewhat looking forward to Ma Hongwei’s new crossbow today.

Hopefully, it won’t disappoint him.

However, there’s still the current situation to deal with.

The crossbows fired in unison and fell silent within seconds.

Yet another portion of the mutant stone statues lost their mobility.

The other mutant stone statues, due to this attack, retreated beyond fifty meters.

But Xu Xin knew the crossbows in the entire treehouse had been emptied.

If they were to attack again, they could only rely on themselves.

He wasn’t too afraid of these mid-level mutant stone statues.

After all, this is the area around the treehouse, their home ground.

But that dragon...

Xu Xin looked at the dragon, which was still gazing at the group.

It had already moved closer by more than ten meters.

It seemed to have the intention to act.

But was hesitating.

Its current attitude seemed to be contemplating whether what it was looking for was actually here.

Should it act or not?

Suddenly, Xu Xin had an idea.

Since earlier during Zeng Tao’s battle, this big guy didn’t make things difficult for her, instead letting her run out...

Could they do the same?

The target of the dragon statue seemed to be the treehouse, where Xiaohong once appeared.

Should they just leave, letting them search the treehouse?

If they find nothing, they’d naturally return.

As for whether this treehouse would be destroyed...

Actually, it didn’t matter.

If destroyed, they’d just transplant it.

After all, Lou Fei’Er had been clamoring to transplant it over.

Because her watch could only connect to Zone 187, so she’d lose contact with everyone once she left.

She kept complaining to Xu Xin about how inconvenient it was.

Moreover, now, there’s not much need to contact Zone 187.

The strength of Zone 187 in this half of Zone 188, was already all around him.

Lou Fei’Er, Ma Hongwei, two who had already been conquered.

Also, Yan Haoming on his wristband.

And the two right beside him now.

Zeng Tao, who was almost certainly in hand, and Qin Fu, whose intentions seemed a bit elusive.

Five out of the top ten were here with him, including the second, fourth, fifth, eighth, and ninth.

The remaining five, according to Lou Fei’Er, were still suffering on the other side in the icy wilderness.

Those don’t really matter.

They can’t stir up much trouble, so there’s no need to target them specifically.

Thinking this, Xu Xin said, ”Let’s go down. These stone statues’ target is this treehouse, not us. As long as we stay away from this treehouse, there shouldn’t be any danger.”

”Target is the treehouse? Go down?” Qin Fu was stunned for a moment, then immediately understood Xu Xin’s intention. ”Are you planning to run away? Isn’t that inappropriate? Isn’t this Lou Fei’Er’s treehouse? Even if we run, if the treehouse is destroyed...”

”Yeah, yeah!” Zeng Tao immediately agreed, then furrowed her little brows and looked at Xu Xin. ”I just said you’re not that annoying, and now you’re doing this? If you want to go, go by yourself, coward! No, make that weapon for me before you go; you promised!”

Xu Xin glanced at her, ”What good does it do you to stay here? Want another slap?”

”I...!” Zeng Tao stared at Xu Xin but couldn’t refute.

In her current state, any ordinary survivor could handle her. Staying wouldn’t achieve much but cheer them on.

Lou Fei’Er, hearing his words, first opened her eyes slightly, then quickly showed a delighted expression.

Finally, they’re leaving!

She’d wanted to leave long ago!

That dragon statue is too frightening!

As for this treehouse...

It truly doesn’t matter!

She immediately said, ”I agree with Yan Haoming’s viewpoint; human lives are most important. Since they’re letting us go, we should leave quickly. Besides, my treehouse isn’t that fragile; they may not necessarily destroy it!”

”Really abandoning the treehouse?” Zeng Tao was a bit anxious, ”Did you forget what that mysterious voice said? You absolutely can’t abandon your treehouse!”

Qin Fu raised an eyebrow and said, ”Then let’s go, Zeng Tao. Don’t forget why we came here this time. Don’t let other things delay us. If we don’t escape now, then when?”

What did they come here for this time?

To climb the snow-capped mountain.

But now, he could largely guess that this so-called climbing the snow-capped mountain was probably just a trap set by Lou Fei’Er and ”Yan Haoming.”

The real snow-capped mountain Lou Fei’Er was climbing was likely the same one as ”Yan Haoming.”

Which is... the snow mountain before the Transmission Array beside them.

However, since they had a way to escape the mutant stone statue encirclement and the dragon statue’s watchful eye, he naturally wouldn’t refuse.

First, leave this perilous place.

He’d think of something later.

Of course, he also had doubts in his mind.

He always thought these statues followed him here.

But Yan Haoming just firmly stated that these statues targeted the treehouse.

What’s actually going on?

After a brief debate, they finally settled on a plan.

Run!

First, break out of the encirclement!

”Lou Fei’Er, quickly pack up your things from the treehouse and take them. In case the treehouse is actually destroyed, at least you’ll still have these things!” Zeng Tao handed her a few ornaments.

”That’s what I thought too.”

Lou Fei’Er swiftly packed up all the things she had placed around and put them in her backpack.

The group exchanged looks, nodded, and indicated they were all prepared.

Lou Fei’Er immediately directed the treehouse roots to bring them down.

Around them, the number of mutant stone statues had reduced to less than half of what it was before.

As soon as they descended, the surrounding mutant stone statues and the dragon statue turned their gaze towards them.

Countless red glows eerily watched them.

Especially those huge eyes on its massive head, like a copper bell, were also watching them.

It even took a few steps towards them, its enormous wings slightly spreading, as if contemplating some action.

But it didn’t make a move.

The sight made their hearts anxious.

Lou Fei’Er’s face turned pale, instinctively moving closer to Xu Xin.

The powerless Zeng Tao hid behind Lou Fei’Er.

”Do you want to hold my arm?” Qin Fu quipped to Xu Xin, ”We’ll form a quartet.”

Xu Xin gave a helpless laugh, then grew serious, pointing in the opposite direction of the dragon, ”We’ll break through over there, let’s go.”

They gathered strength in their feet and immediately ran in that direction.

Only, after two seconds of running, a long and sharp scream came from the dragon behind them!
