Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 573: Chapter 390: Is This It_2

In other words, it seems that no one knows what he looks like, nor have they heard his voice.

This point can be utilized.

While he was manipulating Yan Haoming’s watch, Lou Fei’Er stood nervously in place.

Xu Xin remained silent, making her too scared to move.

As a result, Xu Xin alternated between looking at the supplies in the backpack and checking the watch.

Not saying a word.

Finally, she couldn’t help but speak: ”Um, boss... no, chief, I... I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have acted on my own. Say something!”

Not saying a word and letting her stand there was too torturous!

Xu Xin glanced at her and only then realized she had been standing beside him all along.

This time, she truly was reckless.

However, she did hit the mark in a way.

Initially, Xu Xin was wondering if, aside from Yan Haoming’s experiences, he could also probe his abilities.

Even if he didn’t have any special abilities, he wanted to find out his strengths and make plans accordingly.

After all, he was someone ranked even higher than Lou Fei’Er before her mutation.

He had even made the top three in Area 187 several times.

This guy acted unafraid, as if he wasn’t scared of the two at all, and it almost fooled him.

He thought this guy might have some special ability or trump card, utterly unafraid of any special situation happening.

In the end, he was easily knocked out by Lou Fei’Er.

Easily had his backpack and watch taken away.

He was even locked into the wristband.

The process was so easy that even Xu Xin didn’t expect it.

Too easy, to the point that he found it somewhat amusing.

Now, he had pretty much given up on the idea of recruiting this person.

Moreover, Yan Haoming’s personality was so vile that it made Xu Xin feel disgusted.

He didn’t want to keep this guy around at all; that would just be a hassle.

If it weren’t for wanting to know what capabilities made him rank so high, and his identity was still useful...

Xu Xin would have wanted to just kill this guy outright.

Seeing Xu Xin not responding, Lou Fei’Er’s face turned pale, her eyes reddened, and her hands were tightly clasped in front of her.

She looked pitiful and very scared.

Xu Xin rolled his eyes at her: ”Alright, stop pretending. This time you got it right by accident. Don’t do it again.”

Lou Fei’Er immediately returned to normal, grinning: ”Oh, you should have said so earlier! You see, even though I was a bit reckless, I saved you a lot of trouble, didn’t I? If I hadn’t acted, you might still be observing for a long time.”

She laughed cheekily, as if she thought she was completely in the right.

Xu Xin sighed.

Truly no reflection at all.

He suddenly reached out and patted her shoulder.

Lou Fei’Er vanished instantly.

Ten seconds later, Xu Xin brought her back out.

At this moment, she was already sitting on the floor.

This time, her face really was ashen, and her eyes were completely red.

Just as her tears didn’t have time to fall, she was released.

After being released, she gave Xu Xin a blank stare, pouted her lips, and burst into tears with a ”wah.”

”You’re doing this again! You’re doing this again! I... I clearly helped you! At least say something!”

Lou Fei’Er sat on the ground, kicking her legs forward repeatedly, almost ready to roll around.

But there were only cries, no tears falling.

Truly good at pretending.

Because of the increase in affinity, her attitude and behavior toward Xu Xin became much more casual and close.

Even a bit mischievous.

”What if he had the ability to fight back?”

Xu Xin looked at Lou Fei’Er who was causing a ruckus on the floor, crossed his arms, and said.

”What if he had escaped? Then today’s plan would have been completely ruined by your actions.”

”What if his combat skills were even stronger than ours?”

”You even told him about the contract between you and me?!”

”You really have a big mouth, huh!”

The positive outcome doesn’t mean she should have done it.

This kind of impulsiveness can be fatal at times.

Most importantly, she even spouted off information!

That’s simply unforgivable!

If he really escaped, the plan would have been completely derailed.

”How could...”

Lou Fei’Er was about to retort, but fearing being locked into the bracelet again, she shut her mouth, though she still looked a bit defiant.

She muttered softly: ”How could he be stronger than you... Besides, if I hadn’t said it, he might not have shown such a big flaw...”

”Enough, get up quickly.”

Xu Xin stopped fussing over her and sat on the sofa, beginning to browse through the new watch he’d obtained.

There was indeed nothing noteworthy in the watch.

He thought as much; this person, although relatively close to their location, was still more than a hundred kilometers away.

Those with special abilities, including Ma Hongwei, were all basically in close proximity.

The chance of a survivor so far away having special abilities is indeed slim.

But for him to rank so high, there must be something commendable about him.

Yet...

His character and conduct were truly sickening.

Xu Xin had no intention of keeping him, so he didn’t feed him medicine and bind him like he did with Ma Hongwei after he was knocked out.

As for killing him directly, that was also not an option.

After all, they still needed to use his identity...

Killing him would gray out his name in the district channel.

A top five name in the area going gray would definitely attract the attention of everyone in Area 187.

And now, nearly everyone knows he came to find Lou Fei’Er.

So that wouldn’t work.

However, once he became useless, Xu Xin wouldn’t hesitate to do away with him.

Definitely too repulsive.

Seeing Xu Xin ignore her, Lou Fei’Er quickly got up from the ground and patted the dust off her butt: ”So, what do we do next, continue waiting for them to come? By the way, how do we explain about Yan Haoming, say he ran off on his own?”

Xu Xin didn’t answer immediately but looked out the window.

By now, it was already fully daylight outside.

The time had already passed ten in the morning.

He’d just seen the responses from the two in the group.

They were roughly coming in the afternoon.

The location of these two was even farther away, so the likelihood of possessing special abilities was even smaller.

But not impossible.

And even if they didn’t...

They were still powerful figures in the area.

One of them was even ranked second strongest.

Surely they had commendable qualities.

And, if they weren’t as off-putting as Yan Haoming, they could be retained.

Anyway, the supply of mutant beast contracts in his hands had been replenished, so he didn’t need to be so frugal.

As for Yan Haoming...

He had thought of a win-win solution.

”From now on, I’m not Miao Dak anymore, I’m Yan Haoming.”
