Berserk God of War

Chapter 845: Chapter 845: Isolated Again, No One to Choose

The entire place erupted into a frenzy. People from the West Land crowded behind Ju Hua, and more than seven people stood behind Southern Wang He, including Guo Zixia from the Northern Heavenly Dao Academy and others.

Among the last sixty-three people, only one stood bewildered — she was Gongyang Ying.

For a moment, Gongyang Ying didn’t know whom to choose.

She glanced at Chou Zhan, then at Sikong Jing, and finally, under Sikong Jing’s subtle eye gesture, she went to stand behind Chou Zhan.

Thus, the followers of the nine sword takers were decided.

Ju Hua had the most people behind him, followed by Wang He, while others had a scattered few.

Lastly, Chou Zhan and Sikong Jing were left, with Chou Zhan having Gongyang Ying as his only follower, while Sikong Jing had: not even a shadow, completely isolated.

He was entirely shunned, with no one willing to follow him...

Seeing this, the East Land Decision Maker, who had been half-dead from Lang Zhengzhi’s attack, laughed and said: ”Lord Yao, what should we do about this cheating boy? He’s too weak; no one wants to follow him.”

After speaking, he looked triumphantly at Lang Zhengzhi, ready to start his retaliation...

Lang Zhengzhi’s face darkened, quickly glancing at Yao Yuzhi...

Soon after, someone from the West Land mocked: ”Since there are no followers, just contribute your jade tokens here. We are far from enough by Young Master Ju’s side; look at the long line behind him.”

A crowd from the West Land nodded emphatically, laughing as they pointed out their jade tokens were not enough to distribute.

At this point, Yao Yuzhi spoke up: ”Each sword taker has seven jade tokens, meaning they must have seven team members. That’s the plan; if no one is willing to follow, they have to take whoever is leftover...”

”The remaining ones, whether you’re willing or not, must follow Sikong Jing. There’s no choice.”

Upon hearing these words, faces turned pale, especially those like Nu Guang, who barely made the cut, trembling in fear. Following Sikong Jing was more painful than death.

”Alright, let’s start with Ju Hua, who has the most people behind him. Pick out seven team members.”

Ignoring everyone, Yao Yuzhi spoke calmly.

And just when Ju Hua was about to start selecting, she added: ”Oh, right, others can kill the sword takers. The team members can also kill the sword taker, and upon killing, they can take his spirit sword to become the leader.”

As her voice fell, the whole place turned silent; everyone was incredulous.

They had thought that once becoming a team member, they couldn’t kill the leader, yet they could... Kill and take his spirit sword to become the leader, which seemed quite satisfying.

At this moment, Elder Mo couldn’t help asking: ”Lord Yao, then what’s the advantage for the sword taker?”

Even if team members can slay the leader, then what’s the point of the previous sword-taking battle?

”Of course, there are advantages. The battlefield will be set in the complex environment of Minglong Dominator Valley.”

”At that time, everyone will be scattered.”

”One advantage for the sword taker is to sense the jade tokens’ existence in order to find their team members.”

”The second advantage is that any treasure will be banned, so the sword taker will have a lower spirit-grade sword. Others can only bring one or two weapons with them, but most people won’t have spiritual weapons.”

Prohibiting the use of treasures means not taking things out of storage space, not speeding up with treasures.

And all nine swords are spirit swords, and there is a difference between having and not having spiritual weapons.

”The third advantage is if it’s confirmed that team members harbor ill intentions, they can use the jade token to find the team members and eliminate them swiftly.”

These words suddenly enlightened everyone. A sword taker is a double-edged sword; if team members submit faithfully, strength increases, but if there are ill-intentioned ones, they might get assassinated.

For someone like Sikong Jing, if it’s certain that everyone harbors ill intentions, he can use the jade tokens to eliminate team members one by one as soon as he enters the battlefield, thereby eliminating the opponents in this competition.

Making the chances of victory significantly higher.

”Now you understand, choosing team members must be absolutely trustworthy; otherwise, it’s very dangerous.”

”Alright, start choosing!”

As Yao Yuzhi’s words finished, Ju Hua immediately started selecting people, picking one team member after another, quickly reaching five spots, when his finger landed on a golden body first realm person from the West Land.

He was precisely the genius he had slapped earlier for not taking the sword...

But Ju Hua’s finger turned to point at the tense Nu Guang at the back of the lineup and smiled: ”You, come over.”

Nu Guang was stunned, incredulously pointing at himself: ”Me?”

”Yes, you...” Ju Hua smiled and nodded.

As Nu Guang slowly stepped forward, Ju Hua directly tossed a jade token to him, then said: ”You are my team member now.”

Catching the jade token, Nu Guang was overjoyed.

He was so overjoyed he almost passed out, entirely unable to believe it!

Originally, he thought he would surely die in this competition, but now he was alive, truly alive.

”Thank you, Young Master Ju, I’ll kowtow to you.” Nu Guang, with no dignity, began to kowtow loudly.

Fu Jiaoxing and He Shangfu widened their eyes, envious to the point of exploding.

They were puzzled to the extreme, why would Ju Hua choose Nu Guang? What kind of game is he playing?

This doubt spread among everyone’s hearts.

Gongyang Ying instinctively looked at Sikong Jing, also unable to make sense of Ju Hua’s intentions.

After a brief consideration, Sikong Jing laughed and said: ”Interesting, looks like he’s setting a trap for me.”

These words left Gongyang Ying full of questions.

Sikong Jing didn’t explain but laughed again: ”Moreover, only eighteen people can survive the competition; what if at the time Ju Hua doesn’t want to fight anymore, but there are nineteen people left?”

”Ha ha, by then, he can simply kill Nu Guang to complete the competition.”

Gongyang Ying understood this sentence, instinctively glancing at Nu Guang.

It was truly laughable; Nu Guang thought he was lucky when in fact, he was just a small figure Ju Hua could kill whenever he wanted.

Over here, Ju Hua handed the seventh jade token to a sect genius from East Plain Northern Land, ranked seventeenth there, who was equally exhilarated, utterly shocked that a pie could fall from the sky.

After Ju Hua finished selecting his seven team members, it was Wang He’s turn.

He chose four from Southern Heavenly Dao Academy, then gave spots to Guo Zixia and two other Northern Heavenly Dao Academy members...

He calmly said: ”I can’t trust anyone else; I can only trust those from the Heavenly Dao Academy.”

Guo Zixia nodded emphatically, looking extremely delighted.

However, Wang He secretly told a junior brother beside him: ”I indeed can’t trust others, and Guo Zixia isn’t trustworthy either, but they’re too weak to pose a threat to me. Let’s take it slow...”

”By then, we’ll cut down other sword takers and take their team members.”

After Wang He, it was the turn of the three golden body realm sword takers from the West Land. After choosing people from West Land, one gave a jade token to Fu Jiaoxing and a few, another gave to Shang Fu and Ling Feiyan, and so on.

The last golden body realm sword taker gave jade tokens to a few of the weakest from East Land.

After all, the West Land had plenty of jade tokens; four sword takers plus team members totaled thirty-two people.

Strangely, the remaining three sword takers from the West Land didn’t choose the two golden body first realm who hadn’t taken swords from their land.
