From BOSS to Canon Fodder: She is Currently Out of Service!

”How should I put it, if this kind of creature evolves to the point where rationality prevails over its ferociousness that devours everything... they would be the masters of this universe. Their genes are quite excellent, possessing immense potential for perfect evolution... The higher the Insect Race’s level, the closer their genes approach perfection, and even the 3S Limit that troubles other cosmic creatures is not a problem at all for the Insect Race...”

Gong Yulu finally posed a question that chilled Gu Ningzhi, ”What do you think is the first reaction of human researchers who have been desperately pursuing genetic breakthroughs for thousands of years when they see such perfect and alien creatures? To guard against them and eradicate them, or to give in to their inner desire and start researching their genes, hoping to achieve a breakthrough? The answer is obvious...”

Gu Ningzhi said sheepishly, with a look of wanting to cry but no tears, ”Actually, a few years ago, there was already a researcher studying a dormant Adhesive Devouring Worm. They even produced some failed products, but Su Jiameng stopped them, leaving no trace of gene sequences. So... the higher-ups ordered the Expedition Army to explore new specimens again...”

Alright, Gong Yulu really didn’t know a thing about this matter. She was stunned for a long time after hearing it and then said, ”They are rushing to find trouble and death... Are you sure the people currently steering the Alliance haven’t lost their minds? This is too... too self-destructive...”

Others avoid it, but this Alliance is sincerely seeking trouble! Suddenly, a wave of helplessness surged in Gong Yulu’s heart. She felt she might finally understand Su Jiameng’s former feelings. Encountering someone so mentally unwell, you definitely shouldn’t stop the medication!

Whether or not the medication is stopped, Gong Yulu knows that the arrival of the Insect Race is only a matter of time. The previous Mother Tree was just a warning; how could they defend against it? Instead of thinking about how to stop the Insect Race from emerging, it would be better to think about how to develop effective combat power!

”This time, the Expedition Army returned without success, but the higher-ups have sent out several other teams... Hopefully, those people will also find nothing, at least to delay time a bit,” Gu Ningzhi felt like he was a tragedy. He just wanted to be a free wanderer, visiting cosmic stars in his lifetime and seeing all the world’s flowers, but now he’s embroiled in a huge secret and trouble.

”It’s hard to say... The Insect Race originated in the depths of the universe, bloodthirsty and aggressive. As long as there is the Insect Race in this world, their pursuit of energy will not cease!” Gong Yulu squeezed her brow, trying to focus her spiritual power more, ”Seeing how things are now, I should find an opportunity to reunite with Xiao Meng. The two of us working together can always exert some force...”

”Reunite with her? Are you sure she wouldn’t be furious enough to want to kill you?” Gu Ningzhi thought of the past between the two, tangled like a ball of fur, and felt that the likelihood of them fighting far outweighed that of peaceful cooperation, ”Moreover, if you did fight, do you have a chance of winning?”

”Do you think everyone’s brain is like yours, inherently developing half as little?” Gong Yulu began personal attacks, ”I understand Xiao Meng’s character; we’ve been associates and opponents after all... If it’s for the sake of the big picture, not just me, even an enemy she has an irreconcilable feud with can have their anger suppressed...”

Gu Ningzhi felt deeply uneasy, and at this very moment, Su Jiameng, whom Gong Yulu was contemplating, let out a big sneeze, rubbed her sore nose, grabbed a towel hanging on the training room wall, wiped off the hot sweat from intense exercise on her face, and strode out of the training room, leaving Qian Chen collapsed like a pile of sludge on the ground.

After a while, Changxi entered the training room, threw a clean towel onto Qian Chen’s face, and a hint of a smile appeared on his usually expressionless face, ”So, did you enjoy being beaten up?”

Recently, Changxi said that Qian Chen’s abilities had fully recovered, and Su Jiameng estimated they could form a team to take down monsters... or rather, form a team to take down people from the Qian Family! But at that moment Qian Chen made a reckless request, to spar with Su Jiameng!

Well, actually, Qian Chen just wanted to test the waters, to see how powerful this young yet mysterious woman was. However, he never expected to hit a wall, only to end up being trashed by the other party. Adding to the frustration, Su Jiameng instead complained that Qian Chen was all show and no substance, arguing that he needed a week’s special training before embarking on tasks again...

In fact, Changxi really wanted to retort, it was clearly because Su Jiameng discovered the trace of a fourth person and needed time to investigate, which delayed dealing with business in the Galaxy, and had nothing to do with giving Qian Chen special training, purely looking for a free punching bag to vent her stress. Yet she naturally possessed an air of rightful expression, making her arguments irrefutable, utterly frustrating!

Qian Chen gasped heavily, face flushed, sweat like beans seeping from the skin forming a wet mark on the ground, ”Not bad... no immediate danger to life...”

After he said that, Qian Chen shut his eyes, yet the one-sided ”special training” scenes flashed in his mind. Su Jiameng’s strength was formidable, and through these days of ”special training,” he had deeply grasped the meaning of this sentence.

”Mr. Changxi... do you know Miss Su’s spiritual and physical ability levels?” Qian Chen was strong himself, but he couldn’t see through the other’s strength, implying that Su Jiameng’s true power far exceeded his imagination.

”I’m not sure, but... it’s certainly much higher than the so-called current limit... haha,” Changxi said meaningfully, ”There are things you need to pretend not to know even when you do, that’s best for yourself. And some things, once you know, just know, there’s no need to disclose them... The master will set out soon, I hope you’ll remember what I’ve said deeply in your heart.” (To be continued.
