From BOSS to Canon Fodder: She is Currently Out of Service!

”Life born against the laws of nature is ultimately not orthodox...” Su Jiameng furrowed her brows. Realizing the relationship between foreign genes and the genes of the human body, she couldn’t help but think if those aiding the research institute were truly willing to be complicit villains. Is it possible some of them are just trying to survive, to live longer?

They were created, born as monsters without choice. Isn’t that also their plight? They too are victims...

However, although Su Jiameng had such suspicions, she would not forgive these people because of a soft heart.

Hateful people must have their pitiable aspects, but these are far from enough to shake Su Jiameng’s determination and faith! To her, whether willingly or under pressure, these people have crossed her bottom line and must be annihilated!

Life is precious, as splendid as a flower. Those who trample life for personal gain, no matter their reasons, should die without mercy!

Watching Shangguan Ruolin lead Shangguan Ruiqi away, Su Jiameng contacted Changxi and Su Mo, ”Initiate secret monitoring, I want to ensure everything Shangguan Ruiqi experiences from now until the end of his life!”

It’s not that she doesn’t trust the Military Department, but Su Jiameng is worried that after Shangguan Ruiqi’s death, his body might return to the research institute.

Receiving the command, Changxi and Su Mo set to work as Su Jiameng activated her mecha to clear out the remaining giant monsters. By the time everything was initially settled, the sun had set, and the night was slightly dim. Bringing the mecha to ground, Su Jiameng stepped out from the cockpit.

This mecha, after all, was borrowed from someone. She is not a villain after all, can’t just borrow without returning. Just as she was thinking about finding the kind-hearted person, she saw him rushing over, covered in blood, with his clothes tattered, probably from clearing out those monsters.

”Thank you for your mecha, it indeed helped me a lot.” Su Jiameng returned the borrowed mecha, removing the protective helmet on her head, revealing a gentle yet distant smile. Honestly, had it not been for this young man’s timely appearance, offering his mecha without a second word, the chaos would have been much harder to resolve...

Jiang Zhe remained outwardly calm as he took back the protective helmet, then stored the mecha into his Mecha Space Hub. For someone who has been a fan for over five years, seeing the person he’s admired in person is an exhilarating moment!

Although the entire fan group came together for various reasons to support Su Jiameng, those who consider themselves as ”fervent die-hard fans” steadfastly adhere to one rule: not to deliberately disturb Su Jiameng in reality, nor to reveal their existence.

Of course, this rule only applies to ”deliberately”. If they happen to ’accidentally’ meet... well, that’s fate!

”I’m Jiang Zhe. I used to watch your matches at the Mecha Fighting Arena, never thought your real-life combat skills would be so formidable.”

Jiang Zhe hid his identity as a veteran of the fan group, but revealed other things. He recalled group elder Xu Na saying that in reality, Her Majesty is quite a cautious and careful person, and if one wished to make a genuine connection, they should adopt a candid and sincere approach.

Jiang Zhe’s words indeed resolved Su Jiameng’s earlier doubts, easing her mind. Though he lent her his mecha without question, making her grateful, the sheer ease of it had been somewhat unsettling.

Knowing this Jiang Zhe had seen her matches and witnessed her strength, lending her the mecha wasn’t without reason.

”I’m Su Jiameng, a Mecha Master, pleased to meet you.” Su Jiameng proactively extended her hand. Jiang Zhe’s eyes sparkled with excitement, shaking her hand while maintaining a facade of calmness. Of course, what he said next made someone so elated they almost lost their way, ”Is that mecha your own modification? Its performance is genuinely impressive, and it handles exceedingly well...”

After a brief shake, Jiang Zhe released her hand, forcing himself to stay calm so as not to embarrass himself before the real-life queen, ”Yes, I primarily focused on modifications and mecha design during my schooling. This mecha is my most satisfactory work to date. But, since I’m the only one who drives it, no one else has assessed it, making it difficult to spot its flaws. Do you have any good suggestions?”

Well, borrowing the ”investigation” opportunity, someone easily struck up a conversation with Su Jiameng. Given that matters here were resolved, and Su Jiameng had little else pressing to do, she didn’t mind spending time talking to Jiang Zhe, ”If you want suggestions, I do have a few...”

Jiang Zhe’s eyes lit up, watching her with bright-eyed anticipation, waiting for her words. This mecha was indeed Jiang Zhe’s handiwork and as he mentioned, as the designer, he found it challenging to pinpoint the mecha’s problems. It’s only other experienced drivers who can offer valuable insights. According to Xu Na, Her Majesty has quite accomplishments in modifications and design!

Although Jiang Zhe wouldn’t admit it, when he saw the mecha driven by Xu Na, said to be designed by Her Majesty herself, he felt a wave of jealousy, envy, and bitterness! The queen’s fan group gathers monthly to compete on a virtual network, and when Jiang Zhe first saw Xu Na’s mecha, he fell for it at first sight... Regrettably, that was designed personally by the queen for Xu Na...

Su Jiameng engaged in a ramble, ”I think this mecha has many advantages, with balanced and reasonable performance, seemingly tailored to the driver’s needs, about which I have no comments. As for other areas, for instance, the engine’s performance... the connectivity between the virtual control lever and the mecha’s joints during high-end maneuvers...”

Jiang Zhe listened intently, noting down all her suggestions and even the small operational techniques she mentioned, his eagerness and thirst for knowledge making a positive impression. At least, Su Jiameng’s impression of him was quite favorable.

In short, without realizing it, Jiang Zhe had increased Su Jiameng’s favorability towards him to a friendly level! Congratulations! (To be continued.
