My Youth Began With Him

Due to her old age, Yang Meirong was a little bit slow to respond.

Hearing Huo Mian’s question, she tried hard to recall what had happened in the store.

“Mian… I remember it… I saw him…”

Yang Meirong became emotional and grabbed Huo Mian’s hand tightly.

“Mom, don’t get worked up. Say it slowly. I’m listening.”

Huo Mian stood up immediately to soothe her mother; she rubbed her mother’s chest.

“Mian, I saw your… Uncle Jing…”

“Zhixin, I saw your father. Zhixin… your father is… back.”

Yang Meirong became emotional again and began to cry.

“Mom, calm down.”

“Mom, what did you say? Whom did you see?” Zhixin thought he had heard it wrong.

Standing behind Huo Mian, Qin Chu seemed unsurprised by his mother-in-law’s words.

He had even expected this because Zhixin had had the same experience before.

“Mom… Uncle Jing has been dead for many years. Didn’t we see his cremation and burial with our own eyes?”

Huo Mian reminded her mother.

“I know; I know… That’s why I got so excited, Mian.”

“Mom, did you see him in the store? Maybe it’s a person who looks like him?” Huo Mian asked.

“No, no, no. Not looks like him; that person resembled him. He even wore his favorite red plaid shirt I bought for him. How can I forget? I kept calling to him, but he just didn’t hear me. He walked very fast and disappeared in the crowd swiftly. I stood there, feeling agitated and helpless. Then, my heart contracted, and I felt nothing.”

“Sis… I told you I saw…” Zhixin was also excited and wanted to say what he saw the other day.

“Zhixin, let Mom rest. You go and get some boiled water.”

“Oh, okay.”

Huo Mian sent Zhixin out because she didn’t want him to say that he had seen Jing De in front of the Civil Affairs Bureau.

Huo Mian turned her head and exchanged a look with Qin Chu and they knew each other’s thoughts.

“Mom, get some rest. If you truly saw him, I’ll investigate it for you.”

“Mian, do you think your Uncle Jing reincarnated?”

Elderly people were superstitious and believed in stuff such as reincarnation.

Not wanting to squash her mother’s hopes, Huo Mian didn’t reject the notion directly.

“Before we find out the truth, anything is possible. Mom, calm down and get some rest. When you’re better, we’ll talk about it in length.”

“Mian, I didn’t make it up. I told you the truth; it wasn’t an illusion,” Yang Meirong emphasized.

“I know. Mom, I believe you.” Huo Main soothed her mother as if she was soothing a child.

Finally, she got her mother calm down and fed her some water. Then her mother fell asleep again.

Qin Chu and Huo Mian went to a quiet corner in the corridor.

“Honey, what do you think?”

“It must be a conspiracy. That guy has appeared again and again,” said Qin Chu.

“Yeah. He let Zhixin see him and let my mom see him. I guess the next one is me. Hehe… I truly want to see a guy coming back from death.”

Huo Mian sneered.

“I think it’s dangerous for you to see him. I must stay by your side 24/7.” Qin Chu had a deep fear that he’d lose Huo Mian.
