My Youth Began With Him

Su Yu even liked her post even though he didn’t know what she was talking about. Maybe he thought she was spreading positivity.

The next morning, Han Yueyao got up early and arrived at the Provincial Conference Hall with her temporary manager.

Dancing Allure was going to be held at the Provincial Conference Hall.

It would be aired at noon. Apparently, over six million netizens were tuning in for the show so it was something in the spotlight.

Someone had conducted some preliminary research on the show on Weibo and the show had shown up on the hottest topics searched.

The contestants with the highest popularity were Han Yueyao, a newbie from Imperial Star Entertainment, as well as some popular idols.

Comments like, “Han Yueyao seems to have powerful supporters behind her back… She looks like a vase. She probably won’t be famous,” showed up on discussion boards.

“Apparently, she slept with Su Yu and he adores her.”

“I heard that she’s Doctor Huo’s cousin.”

“No, no… I heard that she’s the daughter of some high government official. The daughter of the secretary of our neighbouring province was born in the 90s. I think her last name is Han?”

“But I heard some reliable sources saying that Han Yueyao was a dancer before and she’s quite good. Why don’t you people not look down upon her?”

“The reality tv shows nowadays don’t really care who actually is the real deal. Everyone just cares about looks. As long as you’re pretty enough, you’ll be famous… If you’re pretty, then you win. Otherwise, you’d just be dancing like those artists and no one would know who you are.”

At first, Han Yueyao was rather hurt by these comments.

These rumours were slandering her.

In the past, she would have created a new account and argued with these people. Now though, she wouldn’t do something like that. If someone discovered that she did that, she would be harming Imperial Star Entertainment’s and President Su’s reputation.

Since Su Yu gave her such an opportunity, she would cherish it and do her best.

“Yao, don’t be nervous,” the manager beside her tried to comfort her.

“I’m fine.”

“What place are you aiming for?” the manager said nonchalantly.

“Me? I’m happy if I don’t get disqualified today.”

The manager: “…”

“You sure set a low bar…” the manager said.

An assistant came over with two bottles of water; she handed one bottle to Han Yueyao and the other to her manager.

“Don’t worry. I think you won’t be disqualified in the first round. There are 14 contestants in total split into seven groups. There probably is only one predetermined group today. Even if you lose today, you would compete with another group. Results will be determined after that,” the assistant explained.

“I don’t know who I’m going to team up with. If that person doesn’t match my style and we mess up each other’s rhythm, then I’m doomed,” Han Yueyao said with diminishing confidence.

“Then when you draw, try drawing someone who’s somewhat popular. If her fans see her, they would vote for your team, and you’ll be saved,” the manager said cleverly.

“Haha, when can I be so lucky? Ugh, I’m not going to think about it,” Han Yueyao said.

She told herself not to worry but the closer they approached the television station, the more nervous she got.

She tried hard to take deep breaths but her heart continued to race…

In order to be less anxious, Han Yueyao took out her phone and sent out a Moments on WeChat: “God, Buddha, I pray that I won’t be disqualified today. Even if it’s up to luck, I want to pass to the next stage. Amen.”

Su Yu was scrolling through his Moments while the marketing team were reporting on their project. He saw her post and almost laughed out loud.

He immediately responded with just one word.
