My Youth Began With Him

Huo Mian had a good attitude, and she changed the topic with a smile.

Then the two sat down at their table.

“Mian, I asked a doctor before and he said it’s fine for pregnant women to eat barbeque occasionally. I told the owner not to put too much spice. This place is clean so you don’t have to worry.”

Han Yueyao was a detail-oriented girl. She took into consideration that Huo Mian was pregnant and couldn’t eat lots of things while doing her research.

“I’m a doctor. You can ask me,” Huo Mian said happily.

Han Yueyao scratched her head and smiled along.

“Doctor Huo is very strong. She can eat whatever she wants even though she’s pregnant. She’s not that delicate. Let’s eat. Oh yeah, it’s just a pity that she can’t drink,” Su Yu said. Then he opened a bottle of beer and poured it into his cup.

“That’s alright, President Su. I’ll drink with you.” Just when Han Yueyao was going to open a bottle of beer, Huo Mian stopped her.

“You shouldn’t today. You have a live show tomorrow. Drinking too much would influence your work. You should drink hot water with me today.”

“That sounds good, too…”

Han Yueyao was in a good mood. She poured a cup of hot water for Huo Mian, then another for herself.

Han Yueyao picked up two menus and put them in front of Su Yu and Huo Mian.

“Mian, President Su, take a look at what you want. Just order anything. I can’t afford expensive food but with skewers, you can order all you want.”

“Anything right? Master get me one thousand skewers to go,” Su Yu teased.

“Huh? Who does that? That is called freeloading… And what, to go?” Han Yueyao fought back.

“Didn’t you just say that we can order anything we wanted?” Su Yu refuted.

“I meant you that you can order anything to eat here, not take out. If you really order 1,000 skewers, I’d go broke to pay it off.”

The two were fighting while Huo Mian shook her head and smiled on the side.

When it finally quieted down, they chose what they liked.

“I want ten skewers of beef, one skewer of hot pepper, one skewer of toasted bread… Oh, add two more fish balls and one sausage,” Huo Mian said and put down her menu.

“Mian, you’re eating so little.”

“I try not to eat that much per meal and eat more meals. I’m scared to overeat because my stomach will feel bad. The baby is growing, and I feel like all my organs are shifting so I’m careful with my portions. If I get hungry at night, I have food at home.”

“That’s good. President Su, your turn. I can eat whatever you guys choose. I’m not a picky eater,” Han Yueyao urged Su Yu. It had been a while since Su Yu ate barbeque, so he was interested in the food.

He didn’t hold back and ordered a lot of food, most of which were food men loved. He ordered beef tendon, skin, and a specialty grilled fish.

The three sat in this small restaurant. It felt very warm and lively.

The three didn’t talk about the competition tomorrow. Huo Mian was afraid that if she brought it up, Han Yueyao would become more nervous. That was why they talked about casual topics.

Su Yu was smart. Although there were many things he wanted to ask Huo Mian, he didn’t, as this was not the right place.

They simply had some small talks.

From the bottom of her heart, Han Yueyao wanted to treat those two.

Han Yueyao held her cup of hot water. She didn’t smile anymore. Instead, she looked at Huo Mian, who was sitting next to her, and Su Yu, who was sitting across from her, with a more serious look.

“Mian, President Su, regardless of whether I can become famous or whether I can earn loads of money, I will always be thankful for this opportunity you gave me… I am unsatisfied that I wasn’t able to become a dance teacher in Jing City but there’s nothing I can do to change that now. You reached out and helped me, so I am forever grateful.”

“Is your next sentence going to be: I’m willing to do anything for you…” Su Yu said with a grin.
