My Youth Began With Him

Ever since Huo Mian got pregnant, her mother began spoiling her over Zhixin.

She treated her son as if he was a gift she received for purchasing a phone plan while her daughter was the child she actually gave birth to.

“Grandma, I want doughnuts. I want chocolate flavored ones and original ones!”

“Grandma, I want pineapple juice.”

Little Bean wanted doughnuts while Pudding wanted juice.

“Okay you two little devils. Grandma will buy you anything you want to eat…” Yang Meirong said. She smiled so bright because seeing her granddaughters made her heart melt.

“Mom, it’s getting cold. Let’s do hotpot…”

Huo Mian saw her mother’s silhouette. She was able to see her mother’s silver hair clearly so she didn’t want her aging mother to go through so much trouble to make them a meal.

Huo Mian knew that her mother would never let her help out in the kitchen so Huo Mian decided on hotpot, which was relatively simple to make.

“Sure. As long as you like it. I’ll give Zhixin a call,” Yang Meirong said happily. She sat down on the sofa and picked up the landline to call her son.

Meanwhile, Zhixin and Bella were lining up at the Civil Administration Bureau.

They were both in black shirts. In front of a red background, they took a picture, both looking lively and alluring.

“Congratulations. You are now officially husband and wife. From now on, I hope you will love and support each other throughout the rest of your lives,” the friendly woman at the Civil Administration Bureau congratulated each pair of newlyweds ardently.

Zhixin and Bella both looked extremely happy and content when they saw the red marriage certificate.

“It’s not that busy at work right now. I’ll ask Chu soon to get a few weeks off so we can both go on a honeymoon.”

“Huh? Really? Do you think we could both get time off?” Bella asked with slight anxiety.

“Don’t worry. My sister got fired recently so she has nothing to do. If something comes up at work, she can jump in.”

“Mian is going to give birth soon. Let’s go after the child is born.”

“That’s too late. Listen to me. I’ll request for time off. You can choose where our honeymoon spot will be,” Zhixin said while holding onto Bella’s hand tightly.

“Mhm.”

Bella graduated from a renowned school, and she had joined GK with a dazzling resume. She started from the bottom and was now a director, so it had been some tough years for her.

Qin Chu and Huo Mian treated Zhixin and Bella well. They bought them a new apartment that was over 200 square meters and two brand new cars.

Zhixin and Bella could live a comfortable life…

When they came out of the Civil Administration Bureau, Zhixin picked up the call from his mother telling him to buy ingredients for hotpot.

Bella held onto the wedding certificate. She took a picture of it and posted it on WeChat to show off to her friends.

Before Yang Meirong could finish, Zhixin suddenly hung up and ran across the street…

He ran so fast that he was almost hit by a car.

“Zhixin…” Bella shouted from the top of her lungs. She was scared out of her mind.

When he crossed the street, Zhixin looked around frantically, as if he was in search of someone. His expression was rather complicated.

When they were going home, Bella looked at him with concern.

“Zhixin, what’s the matter… You looked like you were possessed just now…”

“Ah, it’s nothing. I think I saw an old friend,” Zhixin explained as he drove.

Bella didn’t ask further since she saw that he seemed fine.

Back at Sky Blessing Court, the two had returned from grocery shopping. Bella went into the kitchen with her mother-in-law to wash the fruits and vegetables.

The twins were watching television in the living room.

Zhixin secretively dragged Huo Mian into the study on the first floor.

“Sis…”

“What’s the matter? You’re acting so mysterious,” Huo Mian looked confusedly at Zhixin.

“Sis, guess who I saw today…”
