My Youth Began With Him

“I don’t believe you.”

Wei Ying looked at Shen Mingxi with melancholy in her eyes.

Ever since she had come out of the KTV building to see him after Su Xiaoxiao’s reminder, they hadn’t seen each other.

She had sent him WeChat messages, but he didn’t reply. However, he still liked her updates in Moments.

Wei Ying was confused about their relationship. They still felt like lovers when they met each time, but now she had a weird feeling when she saw him.

“Ying, I’m now dogged with negative coverage…”

“I know.”

“My company is not doing well; my father is in the States on medical treatment. I’m exhausted.”

“I know. So?”

“So I’m in bad shape. You should stay away from me and don’t get tarnished by my notoriety.”

“What… do you mean?”

“I’m doing it for your sake.”

“I don’t want you to do it for my sake. You didn’t consider my feelings before, and I don’t need your false kindness now.”

Wei Ying was angry. Shen Mingxi had proposed to her, given her flowers on Valentine’s Day, waited for her downstairs, but now he told her to stay away from him for her own sake. What was he doing anyway?

“Fine. You can take it as my false kindness.” Shen Mingxi turned his head away and licked his dry lip.

Lately, he had really been under great pressure. After careful consideration, he thought he wasn’t able to give Wei Ying happiness.

“Shen Mingxi, are you a child? You married me and then divorced me. You proposed to me again and now you ask me to stay away from you… What on earth do you want? Don’t you think your behavior is contradictory?” Wei Ying demanded in a hard voice.

“You can take me as a mentally-diseased man. Maybe I’m as crazy as Huo Yanyan.”

Then Shen Mingxi walked away, leaving Wei Ying standing there feeling empty inside.

“Ying, what are you doing here at the entrance? It’s cold here…”

Ye Zhaoyang walked over and draped his suit jacket around Wei Ying’s shoulders.

“I don’t need it.”

Wei Ying immediately took it off and tossed it into his arms. Then she walked away without looking back.

Not far from them, Huo Mian and Qin Chu stood at the door of the upstairs lounge room and looked down at the bustling crowds.

“Honey, didn’t you say it’s only a gathering for friends? How come there are so many people? Did you invite them?”

Huo Mian was surprised that even the Ye Family came; it wasn’t a birthday party but a business gathering.

“They were invited by the Tang Family since Tang Chuan organized the party. I can’t stop them from entering, right?”

“I knew you didn’t do it.” Huo Mian smiled.

“Mian, are you keeping something from me?”

“No. Why did you ask?”

Huo Mian pretended to be calm.

“I just feel you look a bit different after you get off work this afternoon.” Qin Chu reached out and smoothed her long hair.

“Oh. I might be a little tired from work.”

She hadn’t told Qin Chu about her secret. Until now, she still couldn’t bring herself to talk about Huo Siqian since it was a nightmare for her.

At this moment, commotion came from the entrance.

Someone yelled, “Look! Huo Yanyan is here! She even dares to come here!”
