My Youth Began With Him

“Um… I really don’t know.” Huo Mian never lied. Su Yu brought Han Yueyao to the party, but they were definitely not going out.

“It’s fine. They are young people and will get to know each other better.”

Mrs. Su seemed quite confident in this relationship.

“Aunt, I want to ask you something.”

“Go ahead.” Mrs. Su was in a good mood and looked at Huo Mian with motherly love in her eyes.

“Grandpa Su said the Su Family wouldn’t accept a female performer as Su Yu’s wife, right?”

“Yeah, he did.”

“If Han Yueyao becomes an A-list actress in Imperial Star…”

“Don’t worry. It’s impossible. I won’t let Yu promote her,” Mrs. Su said in conviction

Huo Mian felt guilty, regretting asking Jiang Ye to help Han Yueyao.

Indeed, Su Yu hadn’t helped Han Yueyao with her career development.

Maybe Mrs. Su was sure that Han Yueyao was the one for Su Yu because she was confident that the girl would never become an actress.

“If… I mean if… she got famous by accident, would you still want her to marry Su Yu?”

Huo Mian asked cautiously since it concerned Su Yu’s future.

“If that happens, it’s Yu’s decision. In fact, if he likes, we can accept a homeless girl as his wife; if he doesn’t like, we won’t force him to marry a president’s daughter.”

These were the most resonating words that Huo Mian had heard.

Since Mrs. Su had used Huo Mian to introduce girls to Su Yu several times, Huo Mian had felt that Mrs. Su was a little selfish.

But after hearing these words, Huo Mian admired the woman from the bottom of her heart.

After all, not everyone from a big family could be so open-minded.

For a while, Qin Chu’s mother had strongly objected to Huo Mian becoming his son’s wife due to Huo Mian’s ordinary background.

In contrast, Mrs. Su had been standing by her son’s side from the very beginning.

She was a great mother.

“Auntie, you’re so good. Su Yu’s lucky to have you as his mother.” Huo Mian was touched.

“Well, I can’t say I’m the best mother. When he grew up, I didn’t spoil him. He joined the army at a very young age and went through lots of hardships. Returning from the army, he established a company and gets busier each day. In fact, he seldom stays by my side. I feel lucky to be his mother. I can’t say my son is the best son in the world, but… in my heart, he is the best.”

“I admire your way of raising your son. I hope I can be as open-minded as you are when my son grows up.”

Huo Mian touched her round belly.

“You’ll be a good mother. This boy… is lucky to have you as his mother.”

Mrs. Su reached out her hand and touched Huo Mian’s belly gently.

As they chatted happily, Zeng Rou stood in the hall not far from them and heard every word of the conversation while sipping champagne. A tiny earbud was stuck in her ear which was almost invisible if one didn’t look carefully.

Yeah, she had planted a bug on Huo Mian when they talked.

The device as small as an ant hid in Huo Mian’s hair; Huo Mian was totally oblivious of its existence.

“Lu Yan, will you come?” Zeng Rou smiled meaningfully.

The commander felt that watching Huo Mian to acquire the professor’s information was too slow; if possible, they would try to catch Lu Yan this time.
