My Youth Began With Him

“I don’t think so… I hope they won’t come,” Huo Mian said gently and touched Pudding’s head.

“Why not? My sister and I miss Grandpa and Auntie.”

Pudding was a thoughtful girl and never asked impertinent or useless questions, but this time she looked hopeful.

After all, her mommy had only one birthday each year.

Grandpa and Auntie loved Mommy and should come and celebrate her birthday, right?

“Because if they came, they’d be in danger; many bad guys are trying to catch them. The bad guys are watching Mommy’s birthday party right now. If your grandpa and auntie came, they’d draw the bad guys’ attention.”

“I’ll ask Dad to get rid of the bad guys.”

Huo Mian smiled tenderly, thinking how simple the world was in the eyes of the kids, even for a kid as smart as Pudding.

“No matter how powerful your dad is, he can’t take all the bad guys lurking in the darkness. If one of them slipped out of the net, your auntie and grandpa would be in danger, right?”

“Okay. I understand now.”

Hearing her mommy’s words, Pudding looked lost.

“Hey! Look, Auntie Xiaowei and Yunchu are here…”

Huo Mian changed the subject to distract Pudding.

Sure enough, Jiang Xiaowei and her family had arrived; other than her and Wei Liao, Wei Ying and her mother, who was also Jiang Xiaowei’s mother-in-law, came, too.

The old lady was in a good mood as she walked in with her daughter after Wei Liao and Jiang Xiaowei.

Holding Pudding’s hand, Huo Mian hurried over to greet them.

Wei Yunchu was happy to see Pudding.

“Pudding.”

Pudding smiled shyly….

“Boyuan and his parents are not with you guys?”

“No. Auntie Lingling said she needed to go and pick up the birthday peaches for Auntie Mian and will arrive in a little while,” Wei Yunchu replied cheerfully.

“Pudding, take Yunchu to play with your sister. If you’re hungry, ask your dad to get you something to eat.”

“Okay, Mommy.”

Pudding led Wei Yunchu toward the main hall in the yacht.

Then Huo Mian greeted Wei Liao’s mother and chatted happily with Jiang Xiaowei and Wei Ying.

At this moment, Su Yu still hadn’t boarded the yacht.

Tang Chuan walked around and greeted his friends. Then he felt bored and searched for Su Yu.

Finally, he spotted Su Yu at the entrance.

“Hey, Mr. Su, what are you doing here? Go and let’s play a few rounds of Fight the Landlord with Mr. Wei.”

“I think you look like a landlord.” Su Yu chuckled.

“Damn it. You, a permanent bachelor, are always cranky on such celebratory occasions. But I understand you. As an old single guy, you have lots of pent-up sexual frustrations… Hehe… Maybe I’ll introduce you to a pretty girl and you can relieve your frustration with her tonight.” Tang Chuan gave him a lewd grin.

Su Yu gave him a dirty look.

“Don’t pull this bullshit on me. I’ve brought a girl to the party. I’m no longer a permanent bachelor. I’m damned tired of the name now…”

“Whoa. Are you serious? Don’t pull my leg.”

“It’s true.”

“If you lie to me, you’re the super green-shelled water-fearing white-haired turtle,” Tang Chuan chanted out the long string of words.

Su Yu kicked him on the butt…

“Where did you learn this nonsense?”

“Mr. Tang, President Su didn’t lie to you. He indeed brought a girl today.” An laughed.

“Is she Zeng Rou?”

“No,” Su Yu denied immediately.

“Whoa. This is new. Where’s the girl? Let me see.” Excited, Tang Chuan glanced around, wondering what kind of girl Su Yu had brought to this occasion.
