You even deceived me.Some people only know how to throw punches online.

But some people, she really knows how to throw punches.

”I feel like you could shatter bricks with a single punch.”

”Please remove ’feel’.” With that, Zhang Yan threw a punch at Lin Yuan, stopping steadily when it was only ten centimeters from his face.

Lin Yuan only reacted by stepping back after the opponent’s fist stopped and the wind from her punch hit his face.

”This is your true self, isn’t it?” Lin Yuan recalled the strength Zhang Yan used when handcuffing him twice, and suddenly felt that the Zhang Yan in front of him was the real Zhang Yan.

”When I was at Jing Academy, I knocked out male classmates during combat training.”

Lin Yuan was somewhat skeptical. Although Zhang Yan’s stance looked fierce, he still believed that the inherent strength difference between men and women could not be compensated for by acquired training.

So he joked, ”Are you sure he wasn’t knocked out by your ’Young Master’s Divine Fist’?”

”What Divine Fist?”

”Young Master, the ’Young Master’ from Gao Qi’s ’Young Master’.”

”You... Senior Brother, I want to challenge you.”

”Huh? I refuse.”

”No way. You provoked me first.”

”Then I request to compete with you in coding. I’ll give you nine fingers.” Lin Yuan said, extending only one index finger.

Zhang Yan said anxiously, ”How would I know anything about coding? Even if you used your feet, I couldn’t beat you. Let’s just arm wrestle. I’ll use one hand, you use two.”

Before Lin Yuan could respond, Zhang Yan continued, ”Don’t be a coward. Don’t ruin your very manly image in my heart.”

”Alright.” With things said this way, Lin Yuan could only agree.

Then Zhang Yan took off her jacket and rolled up her sleeves.

As soon as Lin Yuan sat down and shook hands with her, he secretly cried out, ”This is bad.” It was a girl’s hand, but the strength was not a girl’s strength.

By the time Lin Yuan saw her biceps bulging through her sweater, his palm had already been pressed onto the stone table.

After three such rounds, Lin Yuan gave up.

Zhang Yan’s triumphant laughter echoed around. She had finally found a place where she could surpass Lin Yuan, but then she felt something was wrong.

”Senior Brother, you definitely weren’t trained under the same system as us.”

”Uh... are you saying I’m too weak?”

Zhang Yan nodded twice, ”Mm, I’ve never seen anyone so weak at Jing Academy. Look at your arm, there’s no strength at all.” Zhang Yan said, even squeezing Lin Yuan’s bicep.

”Sigh,” Lin Yuan sighed self-mockingly, ”Delivering food exercises the legs. How about we compete in leg strength?”

”Okay, we’ll run around this small courtyard and see who’s faster.”

”No, no, no. Competing in that is boring,” Lin Yuan wasn’t so foolish as to actually race around the courtyard. ”When I say compete in leg strength, I don’t mean who’s faster. I’ll take you to the mortal world to train another day.”

”What are you talking about?”

”It’s boring to run fast when you’re light. Being able to run fast even when carrying the burdens of life, that’s true skill.”

Zhang Yan was even more confused now.

Looking at her bewildered eyes, Lin Yuan rubbed his numb palm, ”When I’m free, I’ll take you to deliver food.”

”What? Why would you take me to deliver food?”

”To complete your ’six roots’.”

”What are ’six roots’?”

”You can download ’Black Horse’ and play with it.”

”What is ’Black Horse’ now?”

”Retrace the Journey to the West.”

”Why retrace the Journey to the West?”

”Sigh, I am truly doing a deed of immeasurable merit.”

”You’re being so mysterious. If you keep this up, I won’t talk to you anymore.”

Lin Yuan straightened his expression and leaned closer to Zhang Yan, ”We’ll talk about future matters later. I have a question for you.”

”What question?” Zhang Yan also leaned in closer.

”Is Dean Li related to your family?”

”Dean Li? The one next to your mentor? No, he’s not my family. Why?”

”Nothing. That old geezer was a bit strange today.”

”How was he strange?”

Lin Yuan did not answer the question.

Dean Li had specifically mentioned in the car that Zhang Yan would also be coming, which made Lin Yuan feel a bit strange. Why would that old geezer mention it for no reason?

However, Lin Yuan obviously couldn’t bring this up with Zhang Yan, the person involved.

”Second question. I heard that you don’t have jurisdiction over the type of foreign-related incidents we’re discussing today. So...”

”Oh, that. We indeed don’t have jurisdiction. But within our internal system...” Zhang Yan suddenly realized something, ”Wait, Senior Brother. Aren’t you also part of our team?”

”Uh... Senior Brother didn’t attend your kind of school, did he? Senior Brother followed the educational path of ordinary people.” Lin Yuan began to improvise, ”Senior Brother...”

”I know! To avoid leaving any training traces on Senior Brother, they didn’t even let you know these internal common sense things.”

”Yes, that’s exactly it. You’re absolutely right. But Senior Brother is afraid of things going wrong, so he’s asking an extra question.”

”So that’s how it is. Hmm~, we occasionally encounter some internet trolls who have received that kind of money, but this isn’t very easy to define. Think about it, people wouldn’t be so foolish as to directly transfer money from overseas accounts to everyone’s cards; there are always intermediaries organizing it.

We generally investigate most of it first, and then submit it to GuoAn.

Otherwise, GuoAn would be busy to death all day long. There are quite a lot of people with such suspicions now.”

Now Lin Yuan roughly understood, ”So, you have the power to assist in investigations?”

”Not exactly,” Zhang Yan frowned and thought for a moment, ”It’s just that there isn’t a very clear line here, because under the current network work situation, there’s actually a lot of overlapping work content between different departments.

Just like before we caught you the second time, we monitored your dorm network and found that you had email correspondence with overseas NGOs.

But many people have email correspondence with overseas NGOs, and many overseas NGOs are legal. So, without definite evidence, we can’t easily submit it to the security department.”

”So, you installed cameras in my dorm not because of my involvement with overseas NGOs, but because of that admission notice incident before?”

”That’s right... But it’s not just that.

If there hadn’t been the admission notice incident, then if you just sent emails to NGO organizations, we wouldn’t bother to investigate. But it’s different once you have a record, because the skill of making documents can be used in many places. From fraud to infiltration, almost all crimes involve forging personal documents.

So, we naturally linked the two events together.”

Lin Yuan suddenly realized, ”Alright, so it’s 1+1 is greater than 2.”

”That’s indeed the case. We pay more attention to the connections between events when we do things.”

”Then did your master say how far we plan to investigate this current matter before reporting it to the security department?”

Zhang Yan gave an embarrassed smile, ”Actually, I still don’t understand the full scope of this matter. Didn’t I come today for this very reason?”

”Alright,” Lin Yuan turned to look out the courtyard gate, then looked at the hollow bamboo fence around. ”I really don’t know why they chose a place like this to meet.”

”Oh dear,” Zhang Yan looked very relaxed, ”Senior Brother, you don’t need to be so jumpy.”

”Hmm?”

”Because the act of investigation itself leaves traces, so foreign powers won’t randomly investigate a specific person. I heard from my master that you haven’t even officially taken their bait yet. So right now, you’re just one of their many potential targets for development. Who would arrange manpower to investigate you at this time?

A meeting like today is almost impossible to leave traces that can be found in the future, but the record of you being caught must be clarified, because it’s stored in the database and can be found no matter how long passes.”

”I think I understand. You mean, before I take the bait, I don’t need to worry too much about momentary records because they won’t be saved. But data that will be archived must stand up to scrutiny.”

”Yes.”

”Then are your internal system databases still afraid of being leaked?”

”Oh, the internal system databases are also divided by security level. Many people can access the case information database, and we can’t just change the database’s security level at will. We can only put on a full show to create the illusion that you were implicated because of Song Xiaoxiao.”

”Then I understand. That is to say, the present is not important, but history must stand up to scrutiny.”

”That’s right.” Zhang Yan looked at Lin Yuan curiously.

”What’s wrong? Is there something on my face?”

”Senior Brother, how can you not even know such common sense?”

”I... because I’m not your Senior Brother. I’m just an ordinary person.”

”Here we go again...” Zhang Yan pouted, ”But honestly, if I didn’t know you, and a stranger acted like this, I really wouldn’t consider him part of our team.

Senior Brother, you’re amazing.”

”Huh?”

”You even fooled me.”
