Algorithm system

Long-lost systemIn the days that followed, Lin Yuan began to study stocks.

Because even if he knew Good Group’s true intentions, it wasn’t as simple as just buying randomly to make a fortune.

Lin Yuan first chose Big A in Dragon Country as his research model, even though Good Group was not listed on Big A, but on HK.

However, based on the principle of data priority, Big A was the best research sample.

Why must data priority be emphasized?

Because... Lin Yuan didn’t plan to do the research himself.

Damn it, Lin Yuan’s major was IT. Although he really wanted money, he desperately wanted to seize this opportunity to make a huge sum of money. But such opportunities were clearly rare, so to specially learn the extremely complex art of stock trading for a short-term gain, he might as well save himself the trouble.

“System, it’s your turn to act.”

Thus, the long-absent System was pushed to the forefront by Lin Yuan.

And because of this, Big A was the System’s best data sample, because the most people bought Big A, the most discussions occurred, and naturally, the most relevant data samples were generated.

Sufficiently detailed data samples were the most important prerequisite for effective AI training.

Finally, an evil thought emerged in Lin Yuan’s mind.

“System, I know that even using you for mining is forbidden, let alone using you for stock trading.”

“But, wasn’t it your fault that I got into this situation this time?”

“Let’s make a deal. Just consider it compensation for me. Help me out this time, okay?”

...

Lin Yuan once again found himself in a tug-of-war with the System.

This System was truly useless. When he was inside, it couldn’t even project a small VR video onto his retina.

The System remained the same, showing no reaction at all.

“Damn it!”

“I’ve maxed out all the major platforms’ WangDai with my wife. This is the only chance left.”

“Once I make a huge profit this time, I will definitely fulfill your long-cherished wish of leading humanity to the sea of stars.”

However, this so-called wish of the System was entirely Lin Yuan’s fabrication.

He just felt that the System was guiding him towards a path of scientific research, but his progress in academics had been incredibly slow until now.

Take that long-sealed task list, for example.

The task “Publish an SCI paper” had been pending for a long time.

Lin Yuan was like a slacker in an online game who didn’t level up properly and spent all his time wandering around enjoying the scenery; he hadn’t really followed the script given by the System.

Due to a previous bad experience—attempting to use the System for mining led to a system crash, and Lin Yuan also fainted.

Therefore, Lin Yuan dared not force the System again.

But looking at Good Group’s stock price falling again in HK, he was truly itching with impatience.

The word “poverty” had permeated his life for over twenty years, and the wind blowing through the streets of Zijin City in winter and summer seemed to once again brush against his cheeks.

If the System were a bit more helpful and provided him with more shortcuts to getting rich, that would be fine, but it simply didn’t.

How could Lin Yuan give up this opportunity to make a huge sum of money?

The HK stock market could not only go long but also short.

That is to say, taking advantage of this downward trend, Lin Yuan could actually enter the market and make a profit.

It could be said that every minute he delayed entering the market meant a minute less of profit.

However, both the decline and rise of stocks were volatile, and for Lin Yuan, who wanted to accumulate wealth quickly through short-term trading, knowing the overall trend did not help much with actual operations.

So why did Lin Yuan’s first choice involve short-term trading, instead of taking a conservative approach and following this medium-term trend?

Because no matter how reckless Good Group was, it was impossible for them to crash the stock price and then pull it up again.

Let alone a crash, even a 50% drop was impossible.

Good Group’s current market value in HK was around a trillion, and manipulating the stock price of a company of this size to fluctuate drastically involved extremely high operability and risk.

The main risk was easily triggering regulatory early warning mechanisms.

Therefore, Lin Yuan was certain that Good Group needed to use this wave of negative public opinion in Zijin City to suppress its own stock price through self-slandering.

As for the hidden hands cooperating behind the scenes, Lin Yuan could figure it out with his toes—they definitely existed.

The hidden hands only needed to step on the gas and create an atmosphere when the stock price fluctuated.

Since the primary factor was public opinion, the funds used by the hidden hands did not need to be too large, making it easy to avoid regulatory early warning mechanisms.

This was no longer a pure conspiracy, but an open conspiracy.

Because Good Group’s stock price was indeed primarily lowered by this wave of public opinion in Zijin City, the question was whether this wave of public opinion existed.

This kind of operation was completely flawless from a systemic level.

But it was hard on groups like Da Zhang, who relied on food delivery for their livelihood.

Lin Yuan’s heart at this moment held not only sympathy for Da Zhang and the others but also a helpless pity mixed with emotion and regret.

Because a single turn of a giant beast was an earthquake for the small ants clinging to its body.

Lin Yuan was also a small ant a few months ago, so it was inevitable that he felt some melancholy.

With Good Group’s trillion-dollar market capitalization, even if the stock price didn’t fluctuate drastically, there were still tens of billions in profits behind it.

This large piece of fat was enough to make various capitals drool.

At this point, Lin Yuan was certain that the food delivery algorithm produced by the System was fine.

He predicted that after the stock price fluctuated downward to a certain point, Good Group would inevitably truly roll out the algorithm and complete a wave of counter-trend upward movement.

Therefore, he had been too young before, always limiting his focus to the food delivery algorithm itself.

At this moment, Lin Yuan deeply realized the shrewdness of old hands like Dean Li.

Although the other party had not personally participated in this matter, based solely on Lin Yuan’s brief description, the other party had given advice from a strategic perspective.

This advice was even given based on experience, without the other party knowing the specific situation.

This truly was “having eaten more salt than one has eaten rice.”

What was meant by “understanding the ways of the world is knowledge”? This was it!

Without this guidance, even if Lin Yuan had seen Zhang Yan’s dossier, he would have missed this opportunity.

A few percentage points of fluctuation on a trillion-dollar market capitalization base were enough to satisfy the big sharks, because the big sharks had deep pockets, and for rich people, a 10% increase in their wealth was a huge sum of money.

(In the current economic situation, for large sums of capital, a stable annual return rate of 3% is already very attractive, because with capital overflow at present, there are actually not many stable investment channels for the wealthy.)

But for Lin Yuan, let alone twenty or thirty percent, even fifty or sixty percent was meager, because his foundation was thin.

He had exhausted all channels to get money and only had about 2.3 million.

One million was borrowed from Zhang Yan, he had advanced 800,000 from Good Group, plus his savings, and he and Xia Ye had maxed out WangDai.

This was all he could scrape together.

He dared not press Good Group for more advances, fearing that his intentions would be seen through.

With just this amount of money, even a 50% increase would only earn him a little over a million.

Therefore, Lin Yuan had no choice but to focus on short-term trading.

But short-term trading was not something a greenhorn like Lin Yuan, who only had a superficial understanding of the stock market, could manage.

Because short-term trading relied more on technical analysis, merely understanding the medium-term trend was useless.

Fortunately, short-term technical analysis was a data analysis job.

Data analysis, wasn’t that just modeling and calculation?

It was right in the System’s area of expertise.

This computing power System was good because it not only had powerful computing power but also updated its own models.

Therefore, Lin Yuan looked at the System with ill intentions.

He wanted to demand compensation from the System.
