Algorithm system

uninvited guestLin Yuan flipped through the case files, which refreshed his understanding.

It turned out that any incident that caused public outcry in society would have a corresponding assessment behind it.

The files contained an analysis of the cause and development of the Good Group Waimai incident, as well as a prediction of its future trends.

”What do you need me to do?”

”Senior brother, you are the culprit...”

”Huh? What the heck?”

”Haha, just kidding.”

However, if one were to truly force the connection, the spark that iterated the delivery algorithm was indeed Lin Yuan.

Zhang Yan regained her serious expression, ”My work mainly revolves around the online front. Besides anti-fraud, it’s public opinion control. Senior brother, as the person involved, you may not be very clear about the cause, development, and potential future impact of this shake-up in the delivery industry.

Help me see if the analysis in this file is correct. I need to compile a report to submit.”

Lin Yuan then began to read carefully.

While Lin Yuan was engrossed in reading, Zhang Yan got up and curiously looked around.

After Xia Ye’s arrangement, this rented room, though small, was very cozy. There were all sorts of dolls and various hanging decorations everywhere.

Especially on the refrigerator, which Xia Ye had covered with various refrigerator magnets.

Zhang Yan only stayed for a moment, but she thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere, as it gave her a sense of physical and mental pleasure akin to returning home.

”Senior brother, did Xia Ye arrange all of these? They’re so exquisite!” Zhang Yan couldn’t help but pick up various ornaments to play with.

Lin Yuan ignored her. When focused, Lin Yuan hated being disturbed the most.

...

Bang~~, suddenly a dull noise echoed in the air.

Lin Yuan turned his head at the sound and saw that Zhang Yan had accidentally knocked one of Xia Ye’s trophies to the ground.

Lin Yuan looked at the trophy, shattered into several pieces on the ground, and could only shake his head helplessly.

Zhang Yan, meanwhile, stuck out her tongue and quickly apologized repeatedly, ”Is this trophy very important?”

”Not important.”

”Really? I’m so sorry, I was just fiddling with the small potted plant, and I accidentally knocked it down. I’ll take it back with me later, and I’ll ask my dad to inquire with the Zijin City Museum to see if it can be restored.”

Lin Yuan hadn’t originally been focused on the damaged trophy, but this young lady immediately talked about having museum staff restore it.

”Are you planning to restore it to the standard of a cultural relic?”

”It’s not impossible. My dad took me to see cultural relic restoration before, and I’m telling you, it was amazing. They can definitely restore a trophy like this.”

”No need to trouble yourself.”

”No trouble, I broke it, so I should fix it.”

”This is a testament to Xia Ye’s hard work; I’ve wanted to smash it for a long time.”

”Ah?”

Lin Yuan no longer looked at Zhang Yan, lowering his head and flipping through the files while recounting past events.

”Xia Ye used to teach dance at a tutoring institution. She worked herself to death for a whole summer, but didn’t get a single cent in bonus. Instead, they gave her this ’Most Beautiful Teacher’ award. I’ve wanted to smash this ’hard work’ trophy for a long time. But she always wouldn’t let me.”

Indeed, Xia Ye had always refused before. Because Xia Ye still thought that she was recruited for small private classes because of her diligent efforts. This trophy was the best testament to her past efforts. Only later did she realize: it was because Lin Yuan had pulled some strings.

”Alright, then will Xia Ye not be angry?”

”She might have been before, but not anymore.”

”Why?”

”Because she has to grow up eventually.”

”Is Senior brother always so enigmatic when he speaks?”

”Don’t be mischievous, come here,” Lin Yuan pointed to the chair opposite him, ”Sit down.”

”Ah? Have you finished reading?”

”I’m done.” Lin Yuan closed the files, ”The person who wrote this analysis report is an amateur.”

Zhang Yan immediately moved her chair next to Lin Yuan and sat down, like a child eager to hear a teacher tell a story, so she could look at the files with him.

Lin Yuan was not used to other women sitting so close to him, ”Uh... you can sit opposite.”

”If I sit opposite, it’ll be hard for me to look at the files.”

Lin Yuan pointed to the closed files, ”I wasn’t planning to open them.”

”Oh.” Zhang Yan moved her chair back to the opposite side of Lin Yuan. ”Senior brother is too cautious.”

”What?” Lin Yuan heard Zhang Yan’s quiet remark.

”Nothing.” Zhang Yan smiled and brushed it off. Actually, she was complaining about Lin Yuan making her sit opposite him. With her intuition as a girl, she understood Lin Yuan’s intention just now. He obviously didn’t want to sit too close to her.

Although this distant gesture made Zhang Yan complain, she still appreciated it from the bottom of her heart. A good man should always know how to maintain appropriate boundaries.

”Technical problems, technical analysis.”

Zhang Yan’s attention was drawn back by Lin Yuan’s brief remark.

Lin Yuan continued, ”When facing technical problems, always remember this: technical problems can only be analyzed from a technical perspective.”

”So?”

”There’s no ’so’. I’m just pointing out the main point, giving you a general approach to analyzing this type of problem.”

”Senior brother, I don’t need an approach now, I need an answer.”

”Alright. You muggle, you really can’t resonate with my concise golden maxims.”

Zhang Yan propped her chin on her hands, ”Just treat me as a blockhead and help me out.”

”The apparent cause of this matter is that Good Group wanted to reduce costs and increase efficiency while also improving its social image. You can understand it as Good Group wanting to get benefits. The reason for the current situation, on the surface, is that my algorithm was too poor.”

”Ah? Is Senior brother’s algorithm really bad?”

”Let me finish.”

”Oh.”

”On the surface, it’s because the algorithm didn’t achieve the expected results, and aggressive, blind cost-cutting and efficiency-increasing measures led to the current turmoil. Of course, this also involves mutual infighting between competitors.

That’s the apparent cause.

It’s not as complicated as written in this report.

Things like capital pushing behind the scenes, attempting to further squeeze the living space of delivery delivery riderss.”

Lin Yuan looked at the report with a mocking expression, ”It’s simply persecution complex. Capitalists aren’t fools; they wouldn’t dare to exploit delivery riderss under these circumstances; they’d be risking their lives. So, this concern can be completely dismissed.

This situation is only temporary.

I can even say this: if Good Group wanted to, they could rebuild the original delivery station manager system in Zijin City in minutes. You have to believe in the efficiency of internet companies; which of these surviving internet companies hasn’t climbed out of a mountain of corpses?

Good Group can just reallocate personnel from other nearby cities, if worst comes to worst.

It’s just an experiment they conducted in Zijin City, and the scope isn’t wide.”

Zhang Yan listened more and more intently, ”So that’s the superficial reason, Senior brother means there’s something behind it?”

”Of course. Because not only did I just get the best quarterly evaluation, but also after Hao Tuan Company found out I was out, they told me to rest well and not rush back to work.” Lin Yuan spread his hands and shrugged, ”You understand.”

However, Zhang Yan looked bewildered, ”I... what do I understand?”

”What the hell!” Lin Yuan couldn’t help but curse, ”Why is Good Group being so nice to me?”

”Isn’t that normal company welfare? You just got out, and Hao Tuan Company doesn’t know your true identity, so they must have thought you were startled and wanted you to rest well.”

Lin Yuan really wanted to curse again, ”Sister, have you ever seen a company this good in the world?”

”Yes.” Zhang Yan said very seriously, ”Our unit is like that.”

”Goodbye, show yourself out!” Lin Yuan was so angry he almost slammed the table on the spot.

”Senior brother, did I say something wrong?”

”No,” Lin Yuan rubbed his forehead, ”I’m too young. Alright, no more bickering with you.”

”Think about it. I created an algorithm that caused such a huge mess, why is Good Group still so tolerant of me?”
