Algorithm system

TargetLin Yuan took Da Zhang’s phone and connected it to his laptop’s USB port with a Type-C data cable. He then rapidly tapped the version information to open the hidden developer mode, and enabled USB debugging permissions.

“Huh, my phone actually has this function.” Da Zhang was very curious to see a new function appear on his phone.

“This is a hidden feature of Android phones.”

“Then you’re awesome, you even know this. No wonder you could get into graduate school.”

In fact, enabling developer mode on an Android phone is a very basic operation for IT personnel.

In just two or three minutes, Lin Yuan had installed a small software program.

“Here you go.” Lin Yuan handed the phone back to him, “You’re still delivering food this afternoon, right?”

“I definitely have to deliver during the evening rush hour. Otherwise, I’ll go home with empty pockets today, and my wife will have a huge fight with me.”

“Then you can uninstall the small software I just installed tomorrow.”

“What did you install this thing for? I’m just curious, anyway, there’s nothing valuable on my phone, so it’s fine if I keep it installed and don’t uninstall it.”

“It’s just to collect your food delivery routes, for filling in data when I write test reports for the company.”

Lin Yuan did indeed install this small software to collect delivery riders’s food delivery routes, but it was obviously not truly for filling in data when writing reports. He naturally wanted to feed the data to the Computing Power System, allowing the Computing Power System to collect the delivery riders’s data.

However, Lin Yuan certainly found it inconvenient to reveal too much to Da Zhang, so he just casually found an excuse to gloss over it.

Lin Yuan had spent about an hour writing this small software while waiting for Da Zhang. Since the software’s function was very simple, merely a small application that periodically reported phone location information, Lin Yuan finished writing it quickly.

This was inspired by the way his Computing Power System could establish connections with merchant data through cameras. According to his idea, he could obtain the delivery trajectory of each delivery riders through their phone’s location.

When each delivery riders picked up the meal and when they delivered it to the destination could all be determined through the phone’s location information, combined with the merchant information obtained by the system.

Lin Yuan’s small software did not steal data directly from the delivery riders’s phone’s food delivery APP through hacking methods. Lin Yuan currently did not have the ability to steal such data, nor had the system shown any signs of being able to cooperate with him in such illegal activities.

Therefore, Lin Yuan could only settle for the next best thing and try to figure out how to obtain the Riders’ movement trajectories.

The Riders’ trajectory data naturally could not be as detailed as real food delivery data, but the time spent at each location and the speed of movement could still be used to determine the pick-up and delivery times.

For example: if a delivery riders went to a merchant’s location, it must be for picking up an order. If a delivery riders’s average speed was above 10 yards, they were definitely on the way to deliver. If a delivery riders’s average speed dropped below 5 yards, they were likely walking to deliver after reaching the destination.

Such logic was not complicated, and Lin Yuan believed that the Computing Power System would definitely be able to deduce it.

Of course, installing this small software on just Da Zhang’s phone was useless. It would only be able to collect rich and detailed data after being installed on most delivery riderss in this area. But Lin Yuan had to first verify whether his hypothesis was feasible.

So he used the excuse of treating Da Zhang to a meal, both to catch up with Da Zhang and to ask Da Zhang for this small favor.

Lin Yuan put away his laptop and also picked up his chopsticks.

The steam rising from the hotpot filled the space between them. The waiter would occasionally come over to clear empty plates or quietly ask if they needed anything.

Da Zhang was sweating profusely from eating, clearly enjoying himself.

“Oh, the tripe here is much tastier than at the buffet hotpot.”

Lin Yuan smiled, then silently scanned a QR code with his phone and ordered another serving of tripe. The tripe here was naturally much fresher than the unlimited, scattered, frozen tripe offered at buffet hotpot restaurants.

“Lin Yuan, do you get a salary for your internship now? Does it include food and accommodation?”

“Food and accommodation are not included.”

“Then renting a place must cost a lot, right? You work in a place like that, you can’t still live in your old shabby rented room.”

“The company provides a housing subsidy. And I’m currently living in the school dormitory, a double room. It only costs 2000 yuan a year.” In fact, because school hadn’t officially started yet, Lin Yuan hadn’t even paid that 2000 yuan.

“How much is your housing subsidy?”

“3000 yuan, paid twice a month.”

“What?!” Da Zhang’s loud exclamation even startled the diners at the next table, “3000 every half month, so your housing subsidy is 6000 yuan a month?!”

Lin Yuan nodded.

“This isn’t even counting your salary?”

Lin Yuan nodded again. In reality, this also didn’t include the few hundred yuan for commuting subsidies.

Da Zhang’s hand holding the chopsticks clearly slowed down a lot. After a long pause, he managed to blurt out, “It seems graduate students are still more sought after.”

Lin Yuan originally didn’t want to talk about his income unless Da Zhang asked, because the income gap between them had already widened, and talking about it would only make the other person uncomfortable.

Da Zhang continued, “Then it seems my kid will have to go to graduate school in the future.”

Lin Yuan didn’t want to give Da Zhang the wrong impression that getting into graduate school would guarantee a good job. Because for graduate students from his alma mater, it was truly a waste of three years to study there.

“This doesn’t just depend on the degree, it mainly depends on the school,” Lin Yuan immediately corrected him.

“Then your current aerospace university must be good.”

“Hmm, it’s alright.”

“Then my kid will go to your school in the future. If you can get in, my kid can definitely get in too.”

Lin Yuan could only smile, “Then you really need your child to work hard.” Lin Yuan tried his best not to show any awkwardness.

Da Zhang’s perspective was very simple.

Lin Yuan was a food delivery person, and Lin Yuan got into an aerospace university.

He himself was also a food delivery person, and he just chose the wrong path by not understanding the importance of studying. So, if his son studies hard in the future, he will also be able to get into an aerospace university.

The relationship in this formula was: Lin Yuan == Food Delivery > Food Delivery == Da Zhang == Son.

Through the common ground of food delivery, Da Zhang believed that his son would also be able to get into an aerospace university in the future, provided that he didn’t give up and persisted in studying hard, just like Lin Yuan.

This left Lin Yuan in a dilemma, not knowing whether to advise him or not.

Finally, Lin Yuan thought about it. If Da Zhang could encourage his child to study hard in the future, it wouldn’t be a bad thing. So he simply went with the flow and skipped this topic.

“It’s about time, I need to go deliver food.”

“Ah? At this time?”

“I can still catch the tail end of the lunch rush.”

“Why are you suddenly in such a hurry? There’s still plenty of food.”

“I need to save money for my kid, save money for tutoring classes.”

Da Zhang was an impatient person. Seeing Lin Yuan’s success story right before his eyes, he immediately wanted to implement it.

Even after saying goodbye to Lin Yuan, he turned around and immediately called his wife.

Da Zhang’s voice was loud; Lin Yuan could still hear some of it from a few tables away, “Wife, how much is that tutoring class you mentioned? Go sign up quickly. I’m telling you...”

As Da Zhang’s voice gradually faded, watching him disappear at the doorway, a wry smile appeared on Lin Yuan’s face.

Da Zhang, who had been slacking off, immediately perked up when he saw hope for his child to change their destiny.

Sometimes, perhaps you really can’t blame them for being lazy. To make people work hard, there must first be a visible goal.

As for whether this goal is realistic, that’s another matter entirely.

Lin Yuan took a few more bites, then put down his chopsticks.

Since Da Zhang had gone to deliver food, Lin Yuan could now log in to the cloud server and check the collected data.
