Algorithm system

Don’t think about the system bugInside Lin Yuan’s graduate dormitory at Zijin Aviation School, it was already dark outside when he woke up. His clothes were intact, as he had just regained consciousness from a coma.

More precisely, Lin Yuan had only just realized that he had been unconscious.

The story begins with his understanding of how the computing power system obtains data.

Because Lin Yuan’s postgraduate entrance exam was entirely due to financial necessity, after acquiring the system, besides diligently studying according to its guidance, he often kept an eye out for ways to earn quick money with the system.

This was similar to playing a game and occasionally looking for bugs; if he could directly acquire equipment and game currency through a bug, that would be acceptable.

Lin Yuan had originally planned to visit the River West area where Liu Huzi operated, go through all the merchants there, and meet up with his former delivery riders colleagues to see if he could establish the data acquisition channels for the computing power system.

However, Lin Yuan was not foolish; this was already a confirmed fact, as he was able to get into Zijin Aviation School for his postgraduate studies after learning according to the computing power system’s guidance.

Thus, before setting up the data channels, Lin Yuan thought of a way to monetize computing power—a method to convert the computing power of the computing power system into cash.

Or rather, he had already thought this way before.

However, he hadn’t realized before that the computing power system could acquire data from the real world without his eyes, and that there was a computing power exchange rate between the computing power system and the real world.

Since the computing power system could acquire data through data channels, could it then acquire the ledgers of bitcoin and Ethereum?

Then, he could make a huge profit by exploiting the computing power exchange rate difference with the real world.

Although Lin Yuan also knew that the computing power of the computing power system was very valuable, he ultimately couldn’t resist his curiosity and wanted to try how much 1000P of computing power would be worth if he used the computing power system for mining.

Of course, Lin Yuan would not be so shortsighted as to use all the system’s computing power for mining. But trying with 1P of computing power was always an option, right?

If, and Lin Yuan emphasized ’if,’ 1P of the system’s computing power was very valuable, then he might be able to directly find a way to increase his computing power.

But this seemed clearly at odds with the system’s original intention, so Lin Yuan, with trepidation, cautiously tried it out.

He finally chose to try dogecoin, which had been hyped by Elon Musk, that tech rogue, before, so it wasn’t highly valuable but at least had some value. As for why he didn’t choose bitcoin or Ethereum, the two more mainstream digital currencies?

Firstly, because the ledger data for bitcoin and Ethereum were too large; to mine, one must first acquire and load the ledger data. Although the system hadn’t shown any limitations on the size of loaded data, Lin Yuan had previously loaded test food delivery data starting at 10G each time. But Lin Yuan still cautiously chose dogecoin, whose ledger data was much smaller.

After all, this had the suspicion of exploiting a system bug, and even if it was just a guilty conscience, it was better not to make it too exaggerated.

The data loading process was smooth. Lin Yuan only had to find the link to the dogecoin ledger data, and the system successfully completed the loading. Lin Yuan didn’t even have to download the ledger data, which greatly surprised him, because the system indeed only needed the data path.

Subsequently, Lin Yuan steeled himself and began mining dogecoin.

Recalling what had happened before he woke from the coma, the only image Lin Yuan had was of the dogecoin logo—that Shiba Inu that looked incredibly goofy even when not smiling. He remembered nothing else.

Lin Yuan summoned the system panel, and the system interface was still in the data loading complete state, with no changes.

Lin Yuan had a two-hour blackout.

The system gave no prompts or warnings, as if nothing had happened.

Lin Yuan finally realized: he had just played with fire. Indeed, one should not casually think about exploiting system bugs.

The idea of using the system to mine for money was too shocking to even consider.

However, since the system said nothing, Lin Yuan considered these two hours of blackout as an ’unspoken understanding’ between him and the system.

Ahem, he planned to go to the cafeteria for a meal, then come back and take a shower. He would just pretend nothing had happened.

’I, Lin Yuan. I am still a young man who loves to strive.’

Speaking of which, Lin Yuan was somewhat glad that he chose dogecoin as his experimental subject.

dogecoin was founded in 2013 and remained obscure until Musk, that tech rogue, hyped it up.

Later, Musk might have been building rockets too intensely and ran out of money. So, in 2021, he posted that famous image on Twitter—Musk holding the Shiba Inu, symbolizing the dogecoin logo, ascending to the moon.

After that, dogecoin began to surge.

Of course, after the surge came the usual crash.

The crypto circle is like that, a hundred times more like Las Vegas than Las Vegas itself.

If Musk didn’t make some money from it, then shadows wouldn’t exist in this world.

However, in Lin Yuan’s view, one still needed to look at it from a different perspective.

Musk was, after all, building rockets. Regardless of his actual motives, his efforts to reduce space transportation costs were indeed beneficial to all humanity.

No one is perfect! Even though Lin Yuan was now a cheat, his immediate thought was to first improve his own living situation.

Lin Yuan had found a genuine justification for Musk’s fans to worship their idol—if purchasing things from Musk’s company was for the purpose of contributing to human aerospace endeavors, then it could not be said to be purely for suckers.

(What’s wrong with a bare-bones house? What’s wrong with no turn signal stalk? These saved funds turned into Falcon rockets and Starship. At this moment, I ask you, have you been elevated or not?)

Back to dogecoin.

The biggest advantage of this thing compared to Ethereum and bitcoin is its low coin value.

Currently, one dogecoin is equivalent to about 0.1 US dollars. In the West, where tipping culture is prevalent, it’s perfectly suitable for paying tips.

However, all of the above were digressions. Lin Yuan’s greatest relief in choosing dogecoin was perhaps that its ledger data was small and its coin value relatively low.

This was like having the intention to steal, but for the sake of caution, Lin Yuan chose the item of least value, instead of immediately eyeing bitcoin and Ethereum and greedily stuffing them into his pocket.

It must be said, having the heart of a thief but not the courage is sometimes a good thing.

Although Lin Yuan was not sure if there would have been more severe consequences if he had chosen to mine bitcoin just now. A longer coma? Or direct GG?

After all, one bitcoin was currently worth fifty to sixty thousand US dollars, not even in the same league as dogecoin. Although it was harder to mine, the returns were clearly higher.

Regardless, Lin Yuan solidified his reverence for System Daddy from then on. He firmly abandoned the evil financial mindset of using the system’s computing power to bypass production stages and directly generate income, striving to be a good youth dedicated to making human society better (hands up, fist pump. Oh, yeah!).
