Endless Winter: My Camp Upgrades Infinitely

Chapter 1752: Chapter 556: Diverting Water and Severing the Path, Late Realization (Part 3)

This message had already been conveyed to him when the first wave of scouts returned with the news, so he was naturally prepared early on.

According to the report, the width of the ravine is over thirty meters and the depth is five meters, completely blocking the entire exit. If Zhu Fang weren’t here, the rebel army would ignite the ravine, and the troops would find it really difficult to pass smoothly.

Even with Zhu Fang present, there’s no guarantee of success. Given the width and depth of the ravine, even if the fire is extinguished, the troops would still struggle to pass through smoothly.

The solution of filling it with stones was Cai Qiuhu’s idea.

It’s not that they didn’t want to use trees; the key is that the rebel army’s recent fire burned away all the woods inside the valley entrance, leaving almost nothing. So they can only use stones as substitutes.

“Zhu Fang extinguishes the fire first, five thousand elite soldiers lead the charge, then let the rear army fill the pit at the valley entrance with stones to ensure the remaining troops can pass smoothly, wipe out the rebels in one blow, and finally turn back to defend the valley entrance, resisting the Xia Army from behind, then it’ll be foolproof…”

Cai Qiuhu pondered for a moment and directly signaled Zhu Fang with his eyes.

Zhu Fang understood and immediately leaped towards the valley entrance, also activating his Wind-controlling Divine Pearl, intending to disperse the last campfire at the valley entrance.

Whoosh……

The cyan tornado surged forward horizontally, and without any mishap, the last campfire was instantly swept away, exposing the hundred-meter-wide valley entrance completely to the five thousand elite troops.

“Ah……”

“The Cai Qiu army is here, run!”

“The demonic wind, it’s the demonic wind caused by the Cai Qiu army, run for your lives.”

……

To say the impact of Zhu Fang’s cyan tornado is really only about 2 dynes, far from comparable to the demonic wind caused by General Black Wind, but to the civilian workers digging in the pit, it was fatal.

The tornado first dispersed the last campfire at the valley entrance, then swept down, scattering the dry trees, branches, coal stones, and coal dust in the pit everywhere; many civilian workers were directly blown away with their flesh dissolved, leaving not even a complete corpse.

The civilian workers at the back were slightly luckier, seeing the demonic wind and the five thousand elite troops from Cai Qiu behind it, they dropped their iron chisels and shovels in fear and swiftly crawled out of the pit, desperately fleeing towards the rear.

“Hahaha…”

“All are Earth-digging Realm?”

“There aren’t even many at Cold Resistance Level?”

“With this level of strength, they dare to rebel?”

……

It’s unclear whether it’s because of the defeat at the hands of the Xia Army just now, the soldiers of Cai Qiu felt too oppressed inside. Seeing the embarrassing retreat of the rebels from the pit, their mood suddenly improved, and they all laughed mockingly.

They were just a group of civilian workers, what’s so funny about that?

Cai Qiuhu’s brows furrowed, and he subconsciously wanted to angrily stop the soldiers below, but then realized that after the laughter, the soldiers who were originally dejected clearly became invigorated, so he held back the words at the tip of his tongue.

“Set fire, quickly set fire!”

Amid the sneers and mockery of the Cai Qiu army, a few high-pitched command voices came out from the rebels outside the valley entrance.

Cai Qiuhu, standing in mid-air, heard this and his face darkened slightly. He immediately ordered loudly at the Xianyang Level people, including Zhu Fang:

“Zhu Fang, keep going; Zhang Kai, inform the rear army to speed up; all Xianyang Level people follow me to fly to the north side of the ravine to occupy the base; Yunhai accompanies five thousand elite troops to charge afterward.”

“Understood!”

With four consecutive orders, everyone immediately responded in unison. Zhu Fang, Zhang Kai, and Cai Yunhai, who were named, acted separately while more than fifty other Xianyang Level people followed him, flying directly to the north side of the ravine.

Next, let’s see if this group of rebels was really supported by Chen Cang and the Great Xia. If they’re really just a bunch of commoners, then the fifteen thousand troops under his command can rest easy.

He, one Tribulation Body Realm, leading over fifty Xianyang Level warriors, certainly couldn’t sweep away tens of thousands of civilian workers, but holding them off for a moment to let five thousand elite troops cross the ravine was no problem.

Once five thousand elites occupy the north side of the ravine, as the follow-up army arrives, fills up the ravine, tens of thousands of troops can pass through the valley entrance unhindered, and at that time, dealing with this group of rebels will be easy.

The Xia Army is at least three quarters of an hour away from arriving.

The time is still abundant!

As these thoughts flashed in Cai Qiuhu’s mind, he was already standing in mid-air over the north side of the ravine, looking at the hastily organized rebels a few hundred meters away to the north, who were at most sixty to seventy thousand strong, and his brow suddenly furrowed deeply.

“Weren’t they supposed to be at least eighty thousand? How come there are so few?”

“My Lord, something’s wrong. The rebels on the east side dug out a long ditch, intending to draw water from a lake on the east side; they’ve already opened the gates, and the water is flowing towards here.”

A figure rushed over from the east side. It was the Xianyang Level scout he had sent out earlier. Hearing the report from the newcomer, Cai Qiuhu’s breathing momentarily paused, and then his eye twitched fiercely as he turned his head and shouted angrily:

“Yunhai, quickly lead the army to rush out of the ravine; Zhang Kai, hurry and bring the troops from the rear over, quick, quick, quick, quick, quick…”

He said “quick” five times, which showed how anxious he was inside.

The more than fifty Xianyang Level people following him also realized something by now, and they quickly turned to look east.

Gurgling, gurgling……

“My Lord, it seems… it’s already too late!”

The sound of rushing water came from the east side, causing Cai Qiuhu’s expression to freeze and his complexion to become somewhat distorted.

“Deceived, deceived! This group of rebels has no real backing at all; they’re just here to delay time, ahhhh…”

Cai Qiuhu’s roar was soon drowned out by the sound of rushing water.

The deadly part is, the five thousand elite troops had just stepped into the ravine.

They turned to see the surging water from the east, and their faces instantly turned pale.
