Endless Winter: My Camp Upgrades Infinitely

Chapter 1732: Chapter 550: Riot, A Single Spark

Moao River territory, household registration is paramount.

Although Slave Status and lowly status are at the bottom of the Six-class System, they are still under the control of various local Subordinate Bureaus. Wanton slaughter, once verified, will bear responsibility.

Those without household registration, commonly known as black households, are not entered into regional registers; strictly speaking, they cannot even be considered normal people of the Feudal Town.

If it were only a few black households killed, Zhang Hai wouldn’t have the thought of “it’s over” in his mind, but at this moment, he truly feels that the situation has escalated.

The over three thousand laborers before him were forcibly conscripted by their group of managers from Tiger Tail Village and more than a dozen surrounding villages the night before last. Zhang Hai is one of the managers responsible for conscripting laborers.

He knew very well that ever since they arrived the night before last, these laborers have been holding their breath, clearing snow paths for fifteen hours without having a bite to eat, the pent-up anger in their hearts is imaginable.

Conscripting laborers in Evergreen Valley is not a first-time occurrence, but previously there was never a case of a public disturbance. The reason, Zhang Hai is quite aware, is because the number of conscripted laborers this time was far too many.

In one swoop, Tiger Tail Village brought over thirty thousand people, and the law does not punish the masses. When so many gather together, as long as someone takes the lead to incite, what wouldn’t they dare to do?

He dared to kill people earlier because there were ten pots of Beast Meat behind him, confident that they could appease all of them, but as soon as the Beast Meat encountered problems, previous appeasement undoubtedly became an act of putting a lid on a pressure cooker.

If the Beast Meat had no issues, the emotions of these laborers tonight would have stopped, and we could find ways to deal with them later, everyone happy;

But the Beast Meat, just happened to have problems…

Suddenly, Zhang Hai’s back was drenched in sweat, he remembered, initially he intended to explain, but was incited by a few individuals in the laborers’ team, as he watched many laborers intent on leaving, in his panic, he had the idea to kill to intimidate.

“There are ill-intentioned individuals in the laborers’ team!”

He realized.

It’s a pity, still a little too late!

“With Frost Resilience, burn Cai Territory; resist the harsh taxes, restore our clothing and food; smash the household registration, all people are equal…”

From the silent laborers’ team, suddenly arose a voice not very loud, from right in the center of the crowd, though not large, it distinctly spread to everyone’s ears around.

After reciting it once, the person did not stop, but continued to repeat, when he recited it for the third time.

“With Frost Resilience, burn Cai Territory; resist the harsh taxes, restore our clothing and food; smash the household registration, all people are equal…”

Finally, some started to follow and recite.

“With Frost Resilience, burn Cai Territory; resist the harsh taxes, restore our clothing and food; smash the household registration, all people are equal…”

“With Frost Resilience, burn Cai Territory; resist the harsh taxes, restore our clothing and food; smash the household registration, all people are equal…”

More and more people began to chant, this phrase spreading like an epidemic from the center of the crowd outward, with nearly half of the three thousand laborers joining in.

It was clear, more people still seemed somewhat dazed, obviously not clear what was happening, but after hearing the content of the three slogans, their expressions suddenly changed, clearly realizing something.

As for Zhang Hai, it’s even more obvious, he clearly understands what these three slogans mean, looks at the crowd with a pallid face, tremblingly raises his hand wanting to say something, but facing thousands of fierce eyes, he cannot bring himself to talk.

“Making us work, no wages, and you won’t even give us a meal, wantonly slaughtering us, Zhang Hai, Tiger Tail Village, Cai Qiu, you are simply too arrogant!”

A roar suddenly exploded in the crowd, Zhang Hai and the managers of Tiger Tail Village all shivered in fright.

“Brothers, these damn officials don’t treat us like humans, killing at will, if we don’t resist, they’ll come for us next!”

“We aren’t Cai Qiu people, why tolerate their bullying?”

“Even if there were thirty thousand pigs, they wouldn’t just stupidly stand waiting to be slaughtered. Brothers, kill these damn officials, there is plenty of Beast Meat, Beast Blood, and Silver in Tiger Tail Village’s storeroom, kill them and loot!”

“So many people, what are we afraid of, I don’t believe Cai Qiu can dispatch a large army to capture and execute us all!”

“Cai Qiu’s 200,000 strong army has gone south to war, they might have been defeated by other Feudal Towns, entire Evergreen Valley might change hands, we aren’t originally Cai Qiu people, if we revolt now and turn to other houses, it’s a perfect time!”

“Kill!”

……

Zhang Hai was already stunned at this moment, he of course knew of the Frost Ash Association, but this organization originated from Chen Cang, Chen Cang is their main base, according to his father and several city officials, the Frost Ash Association on Cai Qiu’s side consists only of a few, none even reaching Xianyang Level, they can’t make it to the stage.

Evergreen Valley has never had any disturbance from Frost Ash Association before.

How could these laborers suddenly chant Frost Ash Association’s slogan?

While his mind was in chaos, at the very front of the laborers’ team, over a hundred Cold Resistance Level have already charged towards them.

“Rebel, relying on these iron picks and shovels, do they think they can overturn the heavens!”

Although Zhang Hai’s mood was somewhat panicked, realizing these laborers truly wanted to rebel, he quickly reacted, drawing Weapons, shouting angrily, and led over a hundred managers beside him to meet them.

“Quickly slay the front row of these rebels, as long as we kill them…”
