Endless Winter: My Camp Upgrades Infinitely

Chapter 1716: Chapter 543: Hurt Cai Qiu, Then Kill 20 More People (Part 2)

The northward expedition of the Great Xia this time aims to unify the Southern Slope Territory. Naturally, all elite forces are dispatched, and even district officials like Xiang Liang, who possess some strength, have been temporarily summoned into the army.

Of course, people like Xiang Liang did not want to miss this grand battle, after all, the opportunity to earn military merit is truly rare.

Xiang Liang rubbed his sore arms and saw the soldiers charging forward under his encouragement. A fiery expression flashed deep in his eyes. He immediately gritted his teeth to endure the pain and raised his Longsword to charge forward again.

“This person’s strength should be above 10 jun, according to the rules set by the Minister, at least worth 300 military merit points. Whether I can advance to the Eighth-Rank Marquis depends on him!”

Five years ago, Xiang Liang relied on his merits from infiltrating Dajue Temple to not only successfully be granted the noble title of Ninth-Rank Earl Xuanling, but also entered the Great Xia higher-ups’ sight. He first served in the Prison Department, and later was outsourced to serve as the Vice Chief of Punishment in Hongmen. Since then, he smoothly joined the mid-level ranks of Great Xia.

During these five years, Xiang Liang used the preferential treatment for mid-level personnel, along with his persistent cultivation. He not only broke through to the Peak of Cold Resistance Level, raising his strength to 40 zong, but also was promoted to Chief of Punishment in Hongmen. He helped his father establish a foothold in the army while supporting his younger siblings in their cultivation, managing the family successfully. It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say, the Xiang Family already showed signs of Great Xia nobility.

But human nature is never satisfied. Although the Xiang Family rose, his noble title never advanced further – always remaining at the Ninth-Rank Earl Xuanling.

Finally, having a chance to earn military merit, he naturally had to fight with all his might.

Actively engaging with Xianyang Level, as Xiang Liang learned from Xia Li·System Chapter regarding cultivation realm distinctions, under normal circumstances, he wouldn’t do this unless he was insane.

But now, if he doesn’t go for it, others will!

Five years ago, his noble title was granted with 500 military merit points. In these five years, he accumulated over 300 military merit points. Now, it’s less than 200 military merit points away from advancing to the Eighth-Rank Red Cloud Marquis.

The Xianyang Level of Cai Qiu in front, worth 300 military merit points, naturally holds immense temptation for him.

Whoosh……

Thoughts raced in Xiang Liang’s mind, yet his hands remained swift. Almost among the first batch, he charged up alongside everyone.

And over here, Xiang Liang is just a microcosm of the battlefield.

He wants military merit, from the Xia Army commanders, through the camp colonels, to the most ordinary team captain soldiers, who doesn’t want military merit?

Fortunately, there were too many troops behind the South Gate, tens of thousands couldn’t enter the Weng City simultaneously, only the most elite Sharp Blade Team managed to get in.

And similar to the forces behind the South Gate, Yuwen Dao leading the Right Route Army, Luo Yuan leading the Central Army, and the forces of Li Yangtian joined halfway into the Xia Army, these three armies also dispatched several thousand elites, either climbing down from the city walls or charging in through small gates, immediately occupying the Weng City.

The Xianyang Level can’t control the sky, whether there are hundreds or thousands, they can’t stir much trouble now.

Cai Qiu and his group could initially resist relying on their strength, but as the Xia Army’s numbers are too overwhelming, without any significant gains, they quickly experienced casualties, the battle space continuously being compressed, starting to slowly contract into the center of the Weng City, concentrated in an area less than a hundred meters in radius.

Great Xia doesn’t only have soldiers, Yuwen Dao, Yuan Cheng, Luo Yuan, Xiang Fuhai, Mu Longhe, Xu Ning, Xu An, Hong Tian, Hong Guang… and more than thirty individuals of Xianyang Level, are all present.

Great Xia’s Xianyang Level, their individual strength may not be as strong as Cai Qiu, but the issue is they’ve got the Holy Pattern and Martial Arts supporting them. More importantly, their deceptions and techniques weren’t prohibited. Thus, with the cooperation of the army, driving Cai Qiu and his group into defeat is not surprising.

“Landgrave, Little Landgrave, where are the lords? Weren’t they always outside the city? Why don’t they come to save us?”

“The Landgrave wouldn’t abandon us! Brothers, hold on!”

……

Feudal Towns are indeed stronger in cohesion than ordinary camps. Over a hundred Xianyang Level, though only seventy remain after being killed, still never showed any intent to surrender.

Cai Qianshan never appeared, someone was starting to get anxious, but those with wit didn’t blindly call for rescue, only their expressions grew increasingly grim, obviously already recognizing something.

“Everyone in Wuchuan, lay down your weapons, surrender!”

“Jin Mountain, surrender!”

Ultimately, there were those who called for surrender.

It was Qin Feng and Shangguan Yang.

Their clothes were in tatters at this moment, without a trace of the former lordly air, looking extremely disheveled, when they finally shouted to surrender, their faces were full of bitterness.

At this moment, they finally truly realized that the unification of the Southern Slope by Great Xia was a certainty, and fully accepted the fact that the town force of Jin Mountain and Wuchuan were utterly destroyed.

Puff……

“Surrender, after all the lives I’ve sacrificed, now you just say surrender so easily?”

However, just as Qin Feng’s voice fell, a sword edge suddenly dropped from above, directly piercing into the top of his skull.

Not only Qin Feng, but another green spear edge also directly flew towards the position where Shangguan Yang was standing.

Clang……

But differently, a Longsword swiftly flew over from afar, directly striking the spear edge, deflecting its path, saving Shangguan Yang from beneath the spear edge.

“You don’t follow the rules, then I’ll kill twenty more of you!”
