Endless Winter: My Camp Upgrades Infinitely

Chapter 1753: Chapter 557: Outsmarted by One’s Own Cleverness, Powerless and Eliminated

Just relying on pits and wildfires cannot stop this army of 150,000. Cai Qiuhu understood this point deeply and he had always reasonably assumed that those counseling the rebels from behind also knew this point clearly.

Since they knew they couldn’t stop it, why go through all this trouble?

Someone is strategizing for the rebels, so the fires and pits are just the opening moves. Once the main army arrives, there will surely be further tactics.

Slow down the army’s advance; send 5,000 elites to scout ahead; dispatch a dozen Xianyang Level to investigate the mouth of the valley — all this caution stemmed from the idea in Cai Qiuhu’s mind.

He always thought, having the nerve to stand against an army of 150,000 from Cai Qiu, this rebel group could not possibly rely solely on themselves; they must still have something up their sleeve.

But right now, as the eastern waters flowed in, and seeing the trench outside the valley mouth rapidly filling up, and the rebels on the northern side of the trench retreating in large numbers, from the initial six or seven thousand, in a flash, less than five thousand remained, completely devoid of fighting spirit…

Seeing all this before him, how could he not realize?

This group of rebels never had any hidden cards. All previous maneuvers were purely bluffs to delay time.

The rebels’ greatest reliance was the east-side rushing waters of the moment.

All the caution along the way now seemed like a joke, how could Cai Qiuhu not be furious now? His chest seemed as though it would explode, his eyes glaring at the front row of rebels on the northern side, trying immediate execution of their key figures.

However, he couldn’t spot a single Xianyang Level among the rebels; those in the front row wore the most common attire seen inside Evergreen Valley, without distinct features.

This undoubtedly confirmed the fact that these rebels had no backing.

Hum……

Enraged, blood surged through Cai Qiuhu’s head, his fists clenched until they bled.

“Follow me to repel the rebels, He Yang block the water, let the brothers rush out of the pits first, the rear army hasten the pace a bit, and use stones to fill the pits.”

Despite being enraged, Cai Qiuhu immediately issued orders.

The rebels are less than 50,000, holding for a while with several dozen Xianyang Level subordinates under his command wasn’t much of a problem; He Yang, his general, possessed a Water Manipulation Technique, enough to buy time for 5,000 elites to rush out of the pits; the overall area of the trenches outside the valley mouth wasn’t large anyway, even if eastern water fills the holes, stones could fill it up.

The only concern now is the rear 100,000 Xia Army.

“Regrettable, my earlier excessive caution, treating every bush and tree as an enemy, made me fail to see through the rebels’ true state instantly, wasting a good quarter of an hour. The Xia Army can arrive in less than three quarters of an hour, and time is getting tighter!”

The initial distance between the Xia Army and them was over 20 kilometers, roughly half an hour to catch up, it was his excessive caution that slowed the soldiers’ marching speed, narrowing the gap between the two sides, now estimated to only need three quarters of an hour to catch up.

Realizing he was played, rage built up in Cai Qiuhu, pulling out the big saber from his waist, leaping forward, directly charging at the front line of the rebel army to cut them down.

A strong Tribulation Body Realm warrior, attacking Xianyang Level was already dimensional oppression, not to mention this rebel army, mostly at the Earth-digging Realm, barely 3,000 or 4,000 at the Cold Resistance Level in the front.

Boom……

The enormous blade, imbued with Fire Tribulation Qi, violently swept towards the front line of the rebel army, sucking the air dry almost instantly. The fierce blade directly reduced hundreds of rebels to dust along its path, the hind and side rows too close were also shattered by the blade’s qi, under the mighty force of the blade, even if they survived, their skin membranes and flesh were dissolved, bones fractured; they feared to live their remaining lives as cripples.

Five Elements Tribulation Qi, Body of Calamity, this is the strength of a Tribulation Body Realm warrior, even facing tens of thousands of troops upfront, it couldn’t diminish its edge one bit.

Under Cai Qiuhu’s swing of the saber, the rebel army stood stunned.

It was fatal because it wasn’t just Cai Qiuhu, the dozens of Xianyang Level under his command also charged towards the rebel ranks like starving wolves, a savage force imbued in their weapons striking fiercely, though not comparable to Cai Qiuhu, such strong edges, tens of meters at a time, to this weak rebel force felt equally devastating and apocalyptic.

“Do not retreat, hold against them, there are fewer than a hundred of them, they have limits, press against them from both sides to the trench, as long as we block Cai Qiu’s army, we have hope!”

“Now that you’ve rebelled, what’s the use of running now? If Cai Qiu’s army breaks out of the valley mouth, it will be certain death as well, hold on, the Foreign Fief’s army will arrive soon, once the army arrives, Cai Qiu will surely lose!”

“How many years has Evergreen Valley been oppressed by Cai Qiu? Now there’s finally a chance for a turnaround, what are you afraid of? At worst it’s just death, for the sake of a better future for our descendants, even losing our lives here is worth it!”

………

Cai Qiuhu led a group of strong warriors, their might was apocalyptic. How could a rebel army composed of mere civilians withstand it? Seeing the front row Cold Resistance Level instantly dying by the hundreds, the people behind were scared out of their wits, retreating towards the sides and back.

Crumbled at the first touch, it had now become tangible.

Seeing the beginning of a collapse, more than ten loud shouts echoed sequentially within the rebel forces, attempting to halt the rout.

And indeed, it had some effect.

“Well said, retreating is also death, if Evergreen Valley doesn’t change hands today, we are still doomed, the officials of Qinghua City, would they spare us?”
