Endless Winter: My Camp Upgrades Infinitely

Chapter 1743: Chapter 553: Decisive Victory, Li Yangtian Returns

Hence, at this moment, when Qiu Peng asked the question with a hint of jest, he replied with a devout expression, giving such a solemn answer.

Qiu Peng is the Director of the Camp Supply Department within the Eight Divisions of Great Xia and is also one of Lord Xia Hong’s closest associates. By pledging allegiance to him, one is essentially pledging allegiance to Lord Xia Hong and to Great Xia.

“Brother Li, being able to shun the darkness for the light, the Lord is exceedingly pleased. However, with the impending great war, the Lord is unable to summon you alone. Rest assured, once we drive back the two foes and secure the Southern Slope, the Lord will surely reward you handsomely!”

Qiu Peng could naturally perceive that Li Yangtian was pledging allegiance to Xia Hong and immediately helped him up with a smile. Honestly, Li Yangtian’s switch to Great Xia was entirely orchestrated by the Minister, and Lord Xia Hong was completely unaware beforehand.

Of course, he was not going to reveal this.

As he looked at the battlefield below, almost cleared, Qiu Peng was about to continue speaking, but before he could open his mouth, a strong wind swiftly swept in from the direction of the Bone-Eroding Path.

“Yuwen Yong?”

The person arriving was Yuwen Dao’s elder brother, Yuwen Yong, a general of the Jinyang Alliance Army’s Second Camp.

Connecting this to what Li Yangtian had just said, that Yuwen Dao was headed towards the inner side of the Bone-Eroding Path, Qiu Peng immediately guessed that Yuwen Yong must have accompanied Yuwen Dao over there and was now back to deliver a report.

“Director Qiu, Lord Yuwen sent me back to deliver a message: He wants you to immediately deploy a hundred thousand troops into the Bone-Eroding Path. The rebel army in Evergreen Valley has begun to move. Although Cai Qiu’s army hasn’t reached the exit, they’ve already abandoned their supplies and quickened their march pace, likely having received advance notice from the rebels, worrying we might catch up from behind.”

Sure enough, Yuwen Yong appeared anxious, and as soon as he approached, he quickly spoke, delivering a series of messages.

Qiu Peng’s face abruptly changed with wild joy, immediately turning his head to look at Lin Kai behind him: “Speed is of the essence, Lin Kai, you go first to Jinyang City to inform the Lord. I and Luo Yuan, Li Yangtian, will immediately deploy a hundred thousand troops, and enter the Bone-Eroding Path at once.”

“Alright, I’ll head over right away!”

Lin Kai nodded and immediately turned around, flying towards Jinyang City.

Earlier, during the battle, Xia Hong was injured, and after the battle concluded, he returned to Jinyang City for recuperation. Although Yuwen Dao is the current commander-in-chief, the situation surely needs to be reported to Xia Hong.

The rebel forces in Evergreen Valley, organized by Yuwen Dao, were briefed to all the senior leaders at their initial gathering, so Qiu Peng understood well.

“The strength of the rebel forces in Evergreen Valley is very weak. According to Director Yuwen’s earlier statements, having even two hundred thousand would be extraordinary, and most of them are at the Earth-digging Realm. It’s just nightfall now; they should be heading north towards the exit of the Bone-Eroding Path. We need to accelerate our pace; if we arrive late, the rebels might be completely exterminated!”

“Abandoning the supplies, Cai Qianshan must be out of his mind. Cai Qiu’s army still has at least one hundred and fifty thousand troops. Despite having suffered a defeat, lowering morale, they’re still afraid of the small rebel forces in Evergreen Valley…”

Upon hearing Luo Yuan’s words, Qiu Peng initially paused, then exchanged glances with Luo Yuan, and both saw excitement in each other’s eyes.

Great Xia’s understanding of Evergreen Valley has been substantial; the region is too impoverished, with poor population quality, barely anyone at the Cold Resistance Level. Furthermore, such hastily organized rebel forces pose no threat to Cai Qiu’s army.

Cai Qiu’s army abandoning supplies might either be due to panic from last night’s defeat, or there was some other major event forcing them to speed up their return.

“Chen Cang, they’ve taken action!”

Qiu Peng inwardly pondered a sentence, then without further ado, directly led Luo Yuan and Li Yangtian down to mobilize forces, preparing to advance into the Bone-Eroding Path.
