Endless Winter: My Camp Upgrades Infinitely

Though the white fog was thick, it soon thinned considerably and did not affect visibility.

At Xia Hong’s command, forty-eight people, plus the three Zhao Long brothers, all drew their bows and nocked arrows, shooting crazily at the mouse swarm within the white fog.

Whoosh…

whoosh…

whoosh…

Countless iron arrows whizzed by, and the closest wave of mice had not yet reacted when their bodies were already filled with arrows.

Over a dozen even had their pupils pierced, dying instantly with a single shot.

The rodent swarm, responding hastily, all turned their eyes towards the people to the south, opening their sinister gnawing teeth, revealing murderous intent in their eyes.

“Squeak…”

A sudden clear mouse cry rang out, and the rodent swarm immediately began to act.

They astonishingly pressed forward against the rain of arrows, rapidly moving toward the south.

These vile creatures, to not be afraid!

Xia Hong saw very clearly that the rodents enveloped by the Teng Jiao Poison Mist had become very slow.

In just the first wave, everyone had basically shot more than three arrows, and though there were few one-shot kills, at least forty or fifty were severely injured.

Despite such heavy losses, the rodent swarm still attempted to charge towards us!

Could that commanding cry just now be from the leader of the mouse swarm?

Never taking his eyes off the rodent swarm, Xia Hong did not find anything unusual within it.

A hint of ferocity emerged on his face, and he shouted fiercely at everyone.

“Continue accelerating with our shots, everyone, move forward and find your positions!”

Clang…

As Xia Hong’s voice fell, he drew out the extra-long weapon from his waist and was the first to charge out from the slope.

“Charge!”

“Brothers, follow the leader and push forward, these beasts are poisoned, trying to overturn the heavens from such a distance, kill them!”

“The leader has charged, why should we be afraid?

Get closer and shoot, I’ve already hit two heads, this rodent swarm isn’t so formidable.”

…

The pressure from hundreds of rodents was still intense.

The shouting from everyone was to actually cover their inner fear.

But the first ones to truly follow Xia Hong out quickly were the Zhao Long brothers, their strength greater, fear naturally less.

As for the others, led by the few shouting, they gradually followed and charged out from the slope.

Of course, rushing out wasn’t to engage in close combat with the rodents.

As the rodents charged toward them, they had already gathered into a bunch from what was previously a large mass.

The purpose of Xia Hong ordering everyone forward:

Firstly, it was to find better positions for shooting; secondly, to close the distance and improve accuracy; thirdly, purely to boost the morale on their side, psychologically exerting maximum pressure on the rodents.

Xia Hong had no doubt about the intelligence of the Cold Beast.

Especially from having dealt with the rodents a few times, their intelligence was definitely not low.

The North Slope was just over a hundred meters from them; with only four trees in between.

Charging more than ten meters forward, the group naturally split into four waves, each occupying a big tree, using it as a barrier, to continue their frenzied shooting at the approaching rodent swarm.

Whoosh…

whoosh…

whoosh…

whoosh…

The sound of the iron arrows whistled by their ears, and as they noticed they were only a little over ten meters from the foremost rodents, Xia Hong’s gaze sharpened.

He motioned with a gesture behind him and continued to charge forward.

The group saw the gesture and immediately understood, adjusting their iron arrows to aim higher, no longer targeting the forefront of the rodent swarm.

Meanwhile, Xia Hong had already collided with the foremost rodents.

In his hand was an incredibly long weapon, recognizable at the end as a blade.

Yet as a blade, its edge was exceptionally narrow, only an inch; at the same time, it was extraordinarily long, including the hilt, a total of 1.7 meters.

If not sharpened, from a distance it would look more like a long staff.

Compared to the large knives they used before.

This blade, no matter how people looked at it, seemed odd.

However, Xia Hong, charging forward with the blade held in both hands, quickly demonstrated the terrifying power of that long blade to everyone.

At the instant before contacting the first rodent’s body, Xia Hong’s body suddenly accelerated, the long blade slashed from right to left horizontally, bringing a sharp knife arc with his forward momentum.

The rodents afflicted by the Teng Jiao Poison Mist had slowed down, their reactions dulled.

Facing the suddenly quickened knife arc, they could only dodge clumsily.

Compared to other Cold Beasts, with a body length of only one meter, the rodents were more agile and easily leapt to the side to evade.

Rip…

However, though their body dodged.

Their tail couldn’t be withdrawn in time.

Not to mention Xia Hong’s basic strength, the breadth of this 1.5-meter knife arc was beyond imagination, easily severing the rodent’s long tail, and even slicing off a significant portion of its hindquarters.

Squelch…

The rodent, losing balance with its tail severed, floundered on the ground a few times before Zhao Long from afar pierced its skull with an arrow, pinning it dead to the ground.

“Leader, this knife, what’s it called?

Quite formidable!”

Zhao Long, after shooting the rodent, was filled with astonishment as his eyes looked at the long blade again.

“Yi Blade.”

Xia Hong spoke the name of the weapon in his hand, continuing to charge at the other nearby rodents without looking back.

His hands deftly wielded the blade in slashing motions, with the knife arcs along the way slicing two or three rodents directly in half, severing more than a few tails.

With small bodies, long tails, agile movements, and much faster than other Cold Beasts, wielding a cumbersome great axe was clearly not suitable.

Before crafting those three Ten Thousand Pounds Iron Embryo Bows for the Zhao Long trio, Xia Hong was already contemplating what weapon he should use.
