Endless Winter: My Camp Upgrades Infinitely

As soon as he forged one arrow, someone would take it over and start polishing it, maximizing efficiency.

Six hundred arrows were completed in less than three hours.

Seeing that the Iron Ore from the mine wasn’t being delivered, Xia Hong went down.

He accompanied Xia Chuan and the six others for two days, mining nearly four thousand five hundred pounds of Iron Ore.

After crafting nine hundred arrows, he went back down again.

Xia Hong was like a tireless machine.

Of course, it wasn’t just him; Xia Chuan and the six others, even Mu Dong and others responsible for polishing, were the same.

Seeing their relentless efforts, the over one hundred people in the Logging Realm of the camp practiced archery even more diligently.

Ordinary people, aside from training, were also doing whatever they could manage.

The entire camp seemed charged with an indomitable spirit.

On the third night, the final batch of three hundred arrows was completed.

Xia Hong still didn’t leave the Blacksmith Room but instead called for Shi Ping to go to the mine and inform Xia Chuan and the six others to stop mining, and to bring the last batch of Iron Ore.

Shi Ping left the Blacksmith Room with over three hundred arrows.

In no time, Xia Chuan, Luo Yuan, and the others came in, drenched and exhausted.

“Whew…

Big brother, are the Iron Arrows enough?”

Xia Chuan placed a bag of Iron Ore by the furnace, exhaled deeply, and plopped down on the ground.

The five behind him, including Luo Yuan, did the same.

“It’s enough.

These three days must have been exhausting, right?”

The exhaustion on Xia Chuan and the others’ faces answered without needing words.

For three consecutive days, they even ate meals in the mine, resting for just an hour a day, sleeping right there, the level of fatigue imaginable.

“No need to mine anymore.

You five, go rest first!”

A hint of fatigue flashed in Xia Hong’s eyes, but seeing the over twenty pieces of Iron Ore Xia Chuan had just placed, he forced himself to stay alert and instructed the five to go rest.

The five were already utterly drained.

With Xia Hong’s order, they immediately got up to return to their rooms, leaving only Xia Chuan in the Blacksmith Room.

“Big brother, is there something?”

Obviously, Xia Chuan also wanted to rest, but knowing that Xia Hong kept him there for a reason, he asked first.

Xia Hong nodded and asked, “How many in the Logging Realm are there now in the camp?”

Though Xia Chuan had been mining all this while, he was aware of the camp’s situation through Shi Ping and others at the Camp Supply Station.

“There are already 212.”

Upon hearing the number, Xia Hong’s tense nerves relaxed a bit, and a long-lost expression of excitement appeared on his face.

When the new houses started, there were 140 in the Logging Realm.

Due to unforeseen events on outings, 18 were lost, and in less than two months, it had suddenly surged to 212.

“It seems the pressure brought by the rodent swarms isn’t just felt by us; the recruits have also been training hard these days.”

Xia Chuan nodded and laughed, “Another reason is they all want to try the bow.

Now, there are enough Iron Core Bows in the camp, but only those in the Logging Realm can practice, combined with the archery contest every ten days, naturally, they are more eager to participate.”

Hearing this, Xia Hong’s eyes brightened slightly.

Indeed, humans are social beings.

With such a strong atmosphere of archery practice in the entire camp, plus the Contribution Value rewards from the archery contests, those who can’t participate would naturally find ways to quickly break through.

Following this thought, should the camp add more weapon contests in the future?

This should greatly help in enhancing overall strength.

No, now isn’t the time to think about these things.

Xia Hong suppressed his thoughts and, looking at Xia Chuan, spoke about the real issue.

“You should go rest too, and once rested, start selecting people.

Pick the ninety-six with the best archery skills, and when night falls tomorrow, we will act.”

Hearing this, Xia Chuan nodded solemnly.

The camp’s overload operation for the past twenty days or so was ultimately for the group of rodents on the north slope of the mountain wall.

Now that the preparations were complete, they would face them head on.

“Big brother, only choose ninety-six people?

How about letting the other Logging Realm…”

“No use!”

Xia Hong immediately interrupted Xia Chuan, saying seriously, “Even if the rodents are affected by the Teng Jiao Poison Mist, their speed and strength surpass those of the Logging Realm.

Without bows and arrows, going there wouldn’t help, and they might even affect others and get killed in vain.”

Xia Hong had considered this problem earlier.

Apart from bows and arrows, there were no other ways to harm the rodents from afar; even poisoned rodents wouldn’t be affected differently.

Moreover, besides the ninety-six bows, the remaining iron weapons were just one giant axe and five large blades, not enough to arm everyone else.

Can’t have them engage in close combat with the rodents, can we?

Whether with or without weapons, those in the Logging Realm fighting any Cold Beast up close is suicidal unless you throw lives at it.

Moreover, the main attack method this time is archery.

Can’t have these ninety-six shooting arrows in the back while over a hundred people are battling rodents up front.

That would be even more unreasonable.

“If time allowed, I’d also like to make more bows, but it’s not feasible now.

Over a hundred bows, nearly three thousand arrows, plus the seven of us—if managed well, dealing with those rodents shouldn’t be hard.”
