Endless Winter: My Camp Upgrades Infinitely

Mining is not an easy task.

Although all seven of them were in the Earth-digging Realm, after fifteen hours, they were already exhausted and definitely needed rest.

Outside, it was midnight.

At the wooden house door, over a hundred Logging Realm were fervently practicing archery.

Xia Hong and the others didn’t feel like watching and gave a brief greeting to everyone before heading to the third floor to rest.

“Sir, the top ten results of the competition are out.

Please have a look.”

Xia Chuan had just walked up to the third floor when Shi Ping caught up from behind and handed him the list of the top ten.

Xia Chuan, who was exhausted, didn’t have the mind to look closely and just glanced over it, seeing the top three were Xu Ning, Qiu Peng, and the Shi Ping standing right in front of him, he immediately smiled.

“Not bad, kid.

Eh, is your sister in it too?”

Xia Chuan surprisingly saw Shi Lu’s name at the end of the list.

Shi Ping showed a shy smile, nodded, and said, “My sister’s archery skills were already decent.

She trained diligently during this period, combined with some luck, and got the seventh place.”

“For future archery competitions, the reward amount for Contribution Value will remain unchanged for now.

They will be held every ten days.

You and your father will be responsible, and just report the results directly to me.”

Hearing Xia Chuan was assigning the task of archery competitions to him and his father, Shi Ping was instantly thrilled and nodded heavily, saying, “Rest assured, sir, Shi Ping will certainly do it well.”

Shi Ping was not very old, even two years younger than Xia Chuan.

From his perspective, he couldn’t see the great benefits of being responsible for this task.

His excitement was simply because Xia Chuan entrusted such an important task to him, which was an affirmation of his abilities; also, archery was fundamentally an interest of both him and his father.

His father Shi Qing would be even more delighted when he knew.

“By the way, has everyone been informed about the rodent group?”

Xia Chuan walked a few steps, remembered something, and turned back to ask.

Shi Ping nodded immediately upon hearing this and replied, “Ten days ago, when the camp announced the intensive archery training, it was already communicated, and the people in the Logging Realm are generally aware.”

“Alright, you may go now.

I need to rest.

Later, I need to go check the North Slope of the mountainside with the leader and hunt the dragon tonight.”

“Sir, please rest first.

I’ll take my leave now!”

Shi Ping watched Xia Chuan leave, admiration and envy filling his eyes.

His admiration stemmed from the fact that he knew Xia Chuan and the others were so tired because they had been mining in the cave for over ten hours.

The mining objective was to make enough bows and arrows for those in the Logging Realm to deal with the rodent group on the mountainside, ultimately for the safety of the camp.

Envy came from Xia Chuan’s last remark about going out with the leader.

It could be said that anyone in the camp who had advanced to the Logging Realm wanted to join the Hunting Team and go out with Xia Hong, himself included.

Last time when the Hunting Team brought back the Teng Jiao prey, it was already widely known.

One prey could earn several hundred Contribution Value.

Not to mention exchanging for Cold Beast Meat, it was almost enough to exchange for two sets of clothes.

Of course, Contribution Value was just one aspect.

With Xia Hong’s high status in the hearts of everyone in the camp, going out with him was itself an event of great honor.

“The Hunting Team no longer recruits from the Logging Realm.

To get in, one must advance to the Earth-digging Realm.

I must hurry and train!”

Shi Ping encouraged himself silently, quickly went downstairs, and joined everyone to continue practicing archery.

…

“Not too many people are needed.

Xia Chuan and Luo Yuan, come with me.

You four stay here and report any situations.”

Four hours later, not far from the North Slope of the mountainside.

Xia Hong motioned Zhao Long and the other four to stay put, put down the huge axe on his back, and only carried a bow and a quiver of arrows.

He led Xia Chuan and Luo Yuan, who were similarly equipped, as the three cautiously moved towards the North Slope.

The three quietly climbed up the slope and simultaneously peeked towards the top of the North Slope.

This glance made all three faces slightly change.

“Moved?”

“It did move.

Last time when we checked, it wasn’t certain, but now it is confirmed.

It moved to the southern mountain, about a hundred meters or so.

Look at the northern grassland; it was covered by the rodent group when we came earlier, so we couldn’t see it.”

Hearing Xia Chuan’s words, Xia Hong glanced towards the grassland and confirmed that the rodent group’s position had indeed moved about a hundred meters south, his expression immediately turned grim.

He had come here three times in the last ten days with people.

The purpose of coming here was, of course, not just to make a few more Chewing Teeth Chisels.

More importantly, it was to observe the rodent group for any signs of movement.

He hadn’t hoped for the rodent group to leave on their own, just wished they would remain still until he forged enough bows and arrows.

But now, that hope is gone.

The valley is about two kilometers away from here, and the rodent group only moved a mere hundred meters, which may seem insignificant.

The real concern for Xia Hong is that this movement indicates an unpredictable risk that has increased.

Why did they move?

Is there a problem?

Will they continue?

Will their next move be further towards the southern mountaintop?

Today it’s a hundred meters; will they move a kilometer tomorrow, or even two kilometers?

Do they move at night, or during the day?

If this group of rodents discovers the valley during the day, even if they are prepared with a thousand bows and arrows, it is a dead-end.
