Endless Winter: My Camp Upgrades Infinitely

160: Chapter 121 Everything is Ready, Let’s Get Started [Three in One]_2 160: Chapter 121 Everything is Ready, Let’s Get Started [Three in One]_2 By calculating, it’s clear that during this period, both their bodies and the iron ore, for all seven of them, have almost been pushed to the limit.

Luckily, their luck in mining was quite good; otherwise, they surely wouldn’t have kept up.

These eight days, their two groups, his group mined for four days, Yuan Cheng’s group mined for three days, and there was one day when all seven of them went down to mine together.

With the system in place, he had a clear understanding of the total mining output.

His group mined a total of 7,920 pounds after four days.

Yuan Cheng’s group mined a bit less, with an output of 3,850 pounds.

On the day the seven of them mined together, they extracted 2,300 pounds.

That means in eight days, the total mining output was 14,070 pounds, plus the remaining 3,300 pounds from before, adding up to 17,370 pounds.

The forty-nine bows alone used 14,700 pounds, and in between, they also made 500 arrows, using a total of 2,500 pounds, which adds up to exactly 17,300 pounds.

The mining and consumption tally up perfectly, over these ten days, as soon as the iron ore was mined, someone immediately took it to the forge for crafting, hence Xia Hongcai said that both their bodies and the iron ore were nearly at their limits.

“The quantity of iron core bows is sufficient, no need to make more.

However, a slight decrease in arrows is acceptable, just not too little.

Dawn is breaking soon; today during the day, everyone should take a good rest.

Once night falls, the seven of us will continue mining.

All the upcoming iron ore will be used for arrow production.”

“Yes, leader!”

Upon hearing this, Xia Chuan and Luo Yuan both sighed in relief.

Although their Earth-digging Realm bodies exceed ordinary virtues, they are not made of iron.

Over the past eight days, they’ve only slept one to two hours a day, spending the rest of the time mining or forging upstairs.

They’ve long reached their limits.

Finally having four hours to rest, the two of them cherished it, immediately putting down the Chewing Teeth Chisel and heading back to the cabin to rest.

Xia Hong was no different; he went up to the second floor to take a look at the Blacksmith Room, knowing that Yuan Cheng and the others had gone to rest, he quickly returned to his room to sleep.

The four hours during the day passed in a flash, but Xia Hong and the others had a sound sleep, restoring most of their vitality.

Without dawdling, Xia Hong led the six others down into the mine directly.

However, he only mined for half a day, extracting about a dozen pieces, around four hundred pounds of iron ore, and handed over the Chewing Teeth Chisel to Zhao Long before leaving when it was around midnight.

Returning after less than an hour, Xia Hong came back with a solemn expression.

“I’ll go and expedite the iron arrow production first, you all continue mining, and once any iron ore is mined, immediately have it sent up.

In one day, make as much as you can.

The rodent migration is heading south, and we cannot delay any longer!”

The six heard the words, understanding that Xia Hong had just gone to the North Slope of the mountain wall again, their expressions turned solemn, and they turned to expedite their mining efforts.

Xia Hong did not delay either, collecting all the mined iron ore from everyone with a heavy expression as he left the mine.

In the past nine days, of course, he wouldn’t just stay at the camp making bows.

Every other day, he would go to the North Slope of the mountain wall to check on the rodent migration.

Since the relocation nine days ago, the rodent migration had moved south twice again, and the distance surpassed the previous, already exceeding more than four hundred meters.

The valley was less than two kilometers from there in total, meaning the rodents’ range was now only over a kilometer from the camp.

The time left for them was running out.

In front of the wooden hut, more than a hundred Logging Realm members in the camp were still practicing their archery skills frantically.

Compared to twenty days ago, the camp was evidently more opulent.

Ninety-six iron core bows, although insufficient for everyone to have one, were more than enough for practice.

“Greetings, leader!”

“The leader is here.”

“Greetings, leader!”

…

“Continue practicing, don’t mind me.”

Xia Hong gestured for everyone not to mind him, stood watching for a while, and showed a hint of satisfaction on his face.

At the hundred-meter target, there were almost no missed shots, all hitting the bull’s eye.

At the two hundred-meter target, the hit rate was also a hundred percent, although not too many had perfect scores for now.

Compared to nineteen days ago, the archery skills of these people had clearly advanced significantly, showing they hadn’t been slacking off.

This was expected, given the life-and-death nature of the situation.

These people were all aware of the rodents nearby and knew why Xia Hong wanted them to improve their archery skills.

To slack off in such a situation would indicate a severe lack of fear.

Without disturbing their archery practice, Xia Hong went straight up to the second floor.

Before going to sleep yesterday, they had already stockpiled 1,880 pounds of iron ore.

After waking up and a half day’s work, the seven of them collected more than 1,100 pounds, totaling over 3,000 pounds.

“With these over 3,000 pounds, over six hundred iron arrows can be forged.

Combined with the already-existing ones, the total is 1,650 arrows.

We definitely can’t provide fifty arrows per bow, but even at a 40% reduction, allocating thirty arrows per bow would require at least 2,880 arrows, meaning we’re still short 1,230 arrows.

Each arrow requires five pounds, so we need over 6,000 more pounds!”

In the past nineteen days, accounting was what Xia Hong did the most.

There was no way around it, given the Great Xia’s inadequate strength, insufficient resources, and the painfully slow mining speed.

“Over 6,000 pounds, at least there’s hope now.

Xia Chuan and the six can mine about 1,500 pounds a day, combined with my effort, it can reach 2,200.

The speed of arrow production is swift, when the iron ore’s depleted, I’ll join in mining.

It should take less than three days!”

In comparison to bows, the process of arrow making is much easier.

Xia Hong only needed to forge the arrow blanks, while the arrowheads were left to others to polish.

Previously, he had completed five hundred in just over two hours.
