Endless Winter: My Camp Upgrades Infinitely

The camp currently has seven Earth-digging Realm members, two of whom use Chewing Teeth Chisels with a daily mining output of eight hundred, while the other five use ordinary Sheep Horn Chisels with a daily output of five hundred, totaling one thousand three hundred.

Sixty thousand pounds of iron ore would require about one and a half months to mine.

The reason everyone frowned was because of the time.

Mere mining would take one and a half months, but what about forging?

The Logging Realm does not have the ability to forge, so these over a hundred Iron Core Bows must also be forged by the seven of them.

Moreover, the camp’s hunting activities cannot stop, and the seven of them cannot spend all their time on just mining and making bows.

“The timeframe is too long, which is definitely not acceptable.

So during this period, we must find a way to go over there and risk hunting a few more Rodents.

If each person can have a Chewing Teeth Chisel, the mining speed would increase significantly!”

Upon hearing this, Xia Chuan and the five others immediately brightened up and nodded.

If all seven could be equipped with Chewing Teeth Chisels, the daily mining output of iron ore could reach close to three thousand, which would mean sixty thousand pounds could be achieved in just twenty-odd days, doubling the speed instantly.

“In addition, we need to hunt a few more Teng Jiao, prepare more venom sacs and saliva, and currently, the Teng Jiao spine for making bows is still insufficient.”

For the three or four hundred Rodents, naturally, we need to prepare several more venom sacs;

The saliva that can be used to detoxify our people should also be prepared more;

The spinal cord is even more critical, as the bows used in the Logging Realm need to be equipped with double strings.

Making one requires two meters of spinal cord, and the Teng Jiao we hunted tonight has a fairly good length, with thirty-eight meters of spinal cord, which without taking losses into account, can roughly make nineteen bows.

But they need to make over a hundred bows, so at least one hundred and sixty meters are needed, meaning they need to hunt at least five more Teng Jiao.

“The reserve of Cold Beast Meat is currently abundant, so for the next month, the Hunting Team won’t need to venture out.

Once Yuan Cheng’s injuries heal, I will take you six out to hunt another five Teng Jiao.

In the meantime, you six will join me, putting our all into mining.”

“Yes, leader!”

Having made the decision, Xia Hong did not delay and began to deploy accordingly.

“By the way, Chuan, go inform Shi Qing right away that during this period, everyone in the camp who is above the Logging Realm must allocate half their evening each day to practice archery with him, and he should teach them well.

Since there aren’t enough bows and arrows at the moment, inform Mu Dong to have the Craftsmen Workshop rush out a batch of wooden ones for them to practice with.

Once the bows and arrows are ready, there won’t be time to train.”

“Yes, leader!”

Xia Chuan nodded in compliance, leaving immediately to inform Shi Qing.

Looking at the remaining four, Luo Yuan, Xia Hong spoke up directly:

“Time is running out, you four continue to the mine, and I’ll stay here to make bows.

Once night falls tomorrow, we’ll head to the North Slope of the mountain wall and see if we can find an opportunity to hunt a few more Rodents.”

The four nodded in compliance, turning directly to head down to the mine.

“120 points of iron resources are only enough to make four bows.

There should still be a bit more at the mine; I’ll first mass-produce the bows, then move on to the arrows later.”

Xia Hong took out iron ore directly, placed it into the furnace for smelting, and began the tedious process of bow-making.

In fact, the efficiency of forging weapons at the Great Xia Camp is considered very high.

According to the initial statement by Luo Ming, an ordinary Ten-forged blade would require at least two Earth-digging Realm individuals working together, spending three to five days on it.

However, at the Great Xia Camp, with a polishing stone, an Earth-digging Realm individual can forge a piece of Ten-forged Weapon weighing around seven hundred pounds in one night.

The Iron Core Bow only weighs three hundred pounds, allowing the Great Xia Camp to forge two in one night, a remarkably high efficiency.

But when thinking about making a hundred, Xia Hong still felt it was too slow.

“No rush, no rush.

First use up the iron ore on hand, then focus with the other six on mining.

Once there’s enough iron ore, with seven Earth-digging Realm individuals working together, the bow-making speed will pick up.”

While the iron ore was being smelted into liquid, Xia Hong didn’t remain idle, consuming a Supply of Cold Beast Meat that had been prepared in advance, and began training diligently.

After notifying Shi Qing, Xia Chuan also headed directly to the mine to mine iron ore with Luo Yuan and the four others, racing against time.

Upon receiving the notification, Shi Qing immediately called upon his son Shi Ping, then went separately to find Bai Dongying and Cheng Feng, relaying Xia Hong’s orders to them.

“The Collection Team and Logging Team, including the Hunting Team, everyone in the camp from the Logging Realm must dedicate half of each evening to practicing archery!”

Though Cheng Feng and Bai Dongying didn’t understand, they confirmed it was Xia Hong’s order and promptly complied, notifying all members of the Collection Team and Logging Team.

After ensuring that all from the Logging Realm, including the nine members of the Hunting Team and the Craftsmen Workshop, were informed, Shi Ping went to the mine to report back to Xia Chuan.

Xia Chuan, who was mining, didn’t turn around but thought for a moment before responding directly:

“Also tell them, from now on, we will hold an archery skill contest every ten days; the top three will be rewarded with 10 contribution value points, and those from fourth to tenth will be rewarded with 5 points.”

“Yes, sir.”

Shi Ping was momentarily surprised, but his face soon filled with joy.

After nodding in compliance, he joyfully went off to inform the others.

Xia Chuan naturally understood why he was so happy.

Although Shi Ping only had the strength of the Logging Realm, he had inherited his father Shi Qing’s considerable skill in archery.

Though the top three were uncertain, he could definitely make it into the top ten, which is why he felt so joyous.

“Brilliant idea, with contribution value as a reward, they will definitely practice more diligently.”

“Chuan, it’s no wonder the leader appointed you as the Camp Supply Officer, impressive!”

Once Shi Ping left, the four who were mining alongside Luo Yuan couldn’t help but give Xia Chuan a thumbs up.

Even without the competition, these from the Logging Realm in the camp would certainly train seriously, given that they’d need the skills for future outings.

But with this competition in place, they would undoubtedly practice even more earnestly.

The overall increase in archery skill across the camp would also likely happen more rapidly.

Faced with the praises of the four, Xia Chuan remained calm, replying in a deep voice: “The faster their archery skills improve, the bigger the camp’s chances of success against the Rodent swarm.

In the end, they’re practicing for themselves; the contribution value is merely icing on the cake!”

Upon hearing this, Luo Yuan and the four slightly straightened their postures, nodding in agreement.

“Let’s hurry and mine; the leader is still waiting on us.”

“Sure!”

The five of them lifted their tools once again, accelerating their extraction efforts.
