Forcing Me to Be a Godly Tycoon, Right?

Chapter 1397: Chapter 531: Beauty’s Waist Wasted!

Tong Xin hesitated for a moment, then said, ”I think Xu Wei’s songs are pretty good.”

Zhang Jingdong kept a straight face. ”Do you like his ’Travel’?”

Tong Xin had no idea what Zhang Jingdong was up to, but she still nodded. ”...I like it a lot.”

Zhang Jingdong smiled, then turned back and continued driving attentively.

Just when Tong Xin was still confused, Zhang Jingdong suddenly started singing:

The evening breeze rustles through the pines

Rings this wind chime with a sound like heaven’s

...

Tong Xin had just heard the first two lines and subconsciously thought Zhang Jingdong had turned the car music back on, but very soon she realized something was off, because there was no accompaniment.

Then she turned her head in shock, only to find that the song was actually being sung live a cappella by Zhang Jingdong.

She was once again completely blown away by him on the spot!

Because his singing was practically no worse than Xu Wei himself!

She’d never imagined that it was one thing for Zhang Jingdong to be a big boss, one thing for him to know fortune-telling, one thing for him to use the Heavenly Yang Skill to neutralize her yin energy, but now he could actually sing on a level comparable to Xu Wei.

This... he was just too awesome!

At this moment she also once again understood why he could win over Qin Yu and her own boss at the same time—his talent was simply unbelievable!

Zhang Jingdong could feel her shock, but he kept singing on his own.

Mainly because the scenery outside matched the mood of this song way too well, so he unconsciously got lost in singing!

The result was that as Tong Xin listened, she also turned to look at the scenery outside, and suddenly felt that his a cappella was actually better than Xu Wei’s!

What can you do—when singing skills are neck and neck, the emotional impact of a CD track will never beat a live a cappella performance.

Not long after, when Zhang Jingdong finished the song, Tong Xin remained immersed for a moment, then actually couldn’t help herself and started applauding him.

”I really didn’t expect you to sing this well! You... you literally sound better than Xu Wei!”

Zhang Jingdong turned his head to glance at her with a playful grin. ”Do you like it?”

Tong Xin was so excited she didn’t suspect anything and nodded on reflex. ”I like it!”

”Do you like the song, or like me?”

Tong Xin was instantly choked, and only after a good while did she realize she’d been tricked by Zhang Jingdong again.

”You... you’re awful!”

Zhang Jingdong burst out laughing.

The fact that she didn’t answer was actually the best answer.

So he said nothing and went straight into singing ”Blue Lotus”:

Nothing can hold back

Your yearning for freedom

...

For the rest of the ride, Zhang Jingdong basically turned it into a Xu Wei bootleg concert.

At first Tong Xin was a bit shy because of Zhang Jingdong’s earlier question, but as his singing grew more and more passionate, she gradually lost herself in it and even started singing along without realizing it.

Over forty minutes later, the two of them arrived at Century Garden.

After parking the car, Zhang Jingdong turned his head and said, ”What time do you usually go to work?”

Tong Xin paused, then answered honestly, ”Usually nine o’clock, but today I already took the morning off with Mr. Yan.”

”Perfect. Then you can finally make good on that meal you owe me. I’m only asking you to make breakfast, not lunch or dinner—pretty righteous of me, right?”

As he spoke, Zhang Jingdong got out of the car directly.

Tong Xin felt it wasn’t exactly appropriate, but she had already agreed to him yesterday, so she really couldn’t refuse.

So she could only sigh and get out of the car as well.

It was just about the time people headed to work, and on the way from the parking lot to the elevator, they ran into a lot of people.

And as a great beauty, even though people in the building didn’t know Tong Xin personally, they all knew of her.

Now seeing her walking with a super handsome guy at her side, everyone immediately assumed she was dating, and all of them turned to look.

The women were envious that Tong Xin had landed a tall, rich, and handsome man, while the men were envious that this guy Zhang Jingdong actually turned out to be the final winner.

As an experienced player, Zhang Jingdong had long been used to scenes like this, so he was all spring breeze smugness.

But it was the first time for Tong Xin to run into something like this. Although she was usually cool and aloof, she still couldn’t help blushing right now.

Once they finally got into the elevator, Tong Xin instantly let out a breath of relief.

But right then, Zhang Jingdong suddenly grabbed her hand.

Caught off guard, Tong Xin hurriedly pulled away.

Zhang Jingdong just smiled and didn’t push it.

Before long, the two of them reached the floor and went into the apartment.

Originally, because she’d worked up a sweat earlier when they were climbing the mountain, Tong Xin wanted to change clothes first and then cook.

But after glancing at Zhang Jingdong, she hesitated for a moment and then went straight into the kitchen.

And then Zhang Jingdong actually followed her in.

Although the place was a standard two-bedroom apartment, the kitchen wasn’t very big.

And the kitchen layout was an ”n” shape: counters and cabinets on both sides, with a one-meter-wide, three-meter-long space in the middle.

So if Zhang Jingdong wanted to mess around, she simply would not be able to escape.

She forced herself to stay calm and walked all the way to the innermost end, then quickly turned around. ”You... what are you trying to do?”

Zhang Jingdong took one more step before stopping, then deliberately said, ”You’re really not putting your heart into this, are you?”

Hearing that, Tong Xin’s mind instantly went wild, imagining all sorts of things—even the most that kind of scenario crossed her mind.

But then she heard Zhang Jingdong continue, ”You’re not even going to ask what I want to eat and just start cooking? Or are you that confident in your cooking, that no matter what you make, I’ll love it?”

Tong Xin immediately realized she’d been teased by this guy Zhang Jingdong yet again.

But she couldn’t really blow up at him, so she could only say, ”...You... fine, what do you want to eat?”

Zhang Jingdong thought for a second, then said, ”Can you make scallion pancakes?”

Tong Xin nodded directly. ”Yes.”

”What about fried eggs?”

Tong Xin was a bit indignant. ”...Of course I can!”

”Looks like you can do quite a lot. Then I’ll just be straightforward: scallion pancakes, fried eggs, cold shredded potato salad, stir-fried shrimp, and a plate of stir-fried green beans. Any problem?”

Tong Xin blinked her beautiful eyes. ”No problem, but you’ll have to wait outside.”
