The Evolution Of A Goblin To The Peak

Chapter 1222: Fifth Evolution Stage: Eternal Eclipse Primordian

The calamity bore down relentlessly.

The air itself was thick with negative emotions, seeping into the hearts of the weaker survivors, twisting their courage into fear.

In the distance, the group of survivors squinted at the approaching storm. Countless dots moved beneath the roiling dark clouds. As they focused, their faces turned ashen.

The dots were dark apparitions. Millions of them, swarming from other cities, converging on Nature Zone City from all directions. The sight alone was enough to make any heart falter.

”This can’t be...?!” an Ascension Knight muttered, disbelief cracking his voice.

”How are we supposed to fight that?” another asked, terror creeping into his tone.

Angus’s jaw clenched. His voice cut through the rising panic like steel.

”Don’t lose hope! I am the Crown Prince of the Everlasting Kingdom! Our family has guarded this land for thousands of years! We have devices and strategies to counter these vile creatures! We can do this!”

His command resonated with authority. The words were more than reassurance as they were a declaration, anchoring the survivors’ wavering courage. The Royal Family had the means to contain the calamity... if only they held their ground.

Whoosh!

A surge of energy rippled through the group. Eyes brightened with determination, weapons gripped tighter. Fear was replaced, if only partially, by the resolve to survive.

Every second stretched into an eternity. The dark apparitions would not show mercy.

Then, strange, jarring sounds pierced the air.

Grating and invasive.

Kiiiiihk!!

Kreeeeiiihk!!

Riiiiiet!!

The noises clawed at their minds, a mental assault that threatened to fracture even the strongest wills.

Angus inhaled deeply, his aura flaring with unyielding authority.

”Everyone! Let’s go!”

The survivors responded in unison, unleashing their energy, ready to fight for every heartbeat.

”Runes! Activate!” Angus roared.

Emiline raised her sword, and the rune masters ignited their formations. Energy surged as the noble households’ defensive runes blazed to life, creating a protective field that shimmered like a fortress of light.

Ohm!

The battlefield was bathed in radiant energy. The dark apparitions were coming but the defenders were ready, their combined power forming a wall of light and willpower against the oncoming storm.

Numerous runes flared to life, channeling elemental powers that surged violently from the ground and the air. The city trembled under the raw energy, a fragile barrier against the incoming storm.

The first wave of dark apparitions had arrived. They collided with the runes with a deafening fury, triggering chains of explosions that shook the streets.

Bang! Bang!

Hundreds of dark apparitions disintegrated instantly, their forms shattered by the elemental onslaught. Yet even as the dust settled, it was clear to everyone that this was barely a dent in the tide.

From the smoke and ruin, thousands more poured forward, charging with terrifying speed. Their alien cries filled the air, a haunting chorus that clawed at the minds of the defenders.

Angus inhaled deeply, his aura flaring with authority and resolve. ”Attack!!”

He surged forward, leading the survivors with precision and ferocity.

Boom!!

The two forces collided in a violent storm of steel, energy, and sound. Hundreds of dark apparitions were hurled into the air, bodies scattered like leaves in a gale. Angus and the other Ascension Knights led the charge, executing devastating techniques that carved a path through the monstrous horde, shielding the survivors behind them.

Spells of fire, ice, and light exploded in all directions, but still, the enemy pressed forward. The dark apparitions were endless, relentless, and unyielding. Every spell, every strike, only delayed the inevitable. The city had become a battlefield on the brink of annihilation, where every second was a fight for survival.

The survivors pressed forward, but the sheer number of dark apparitions was crushing. Every time they felled a hundred enemies, twice as many surged from the smoke to take their place.

Angus’s expression hardened as he swung his sword, cutting through dozens of the creatures at once. Around him, Ascension Knights fought with every ounce of strength, but even their combined might barely held the tide.

”Keep moving! Protect the each other!” Angus roared, his voice almost drowned out by the wails and screeches of the dark apparitions.

Some of the weaker survivors faltered, their fear taking over. They stumbled, only to be swept away by the relentless wave of creatures. The city streets became a chaotic storm of explosions, magic, and blood.

Emiline fought beside Angus, her sword a streak of light and steel, yet even she felt the weight of hopelessness pressing down. The dark apparitions came from all directions, their strange, alien cries gnawing at her mind.

”Too many...” one First Degree Ascension Knight gasped, his aura flickering as exhaustion took hold.

Angus’s teeth gritted. ’We cannot hold them forever. Not without help...’

Suddenly, the ground trembled violently. Beneath the ruins, an immense surge of best feram erupted from the earth, rolling outward like a living storm.

Boom!!

The very air shuddered, and the ground quaked under the sheer, terrifying force. Every tree, every structure, every stone vibrated with the presence of a power unlike anything the survivors had ever felt.

Angus, Emiline, and the others froze, instinctively sensing that this energy did not belong to the dark apparitions. It was something else. Something far greater.

A monster...?

Their eyes met.

”It must be... Souta!!” Emiline breathed, her voice a mixture of awe and fear.

Angus’s gaze sharpened. ”The fluctuations... he’s trying to reach the fifth stage!”

Shock rippled through them. They hadn’t expected Souta to evolve in the midst of battle, not now, when the calamity threatened to annihilate the city. And yet, even at fourth stage, his power had already been unimaginable.

Angus clenched his fists, determination flaring in his eyes. ”Fight! Fight the calamity!!”

His voice rang out like a war horn, pushing the survivors forward. They fought not only against the monstrous horde but now with the knowledge that Souta’s power, a force capable of turning the tide, was about to descend upon the battlefield.

The city itself seemed to hold its breath, waiting for the arrival of a power that could reshape the very course of the calamity.

In the depths of the underground, a quiet tension filled the air.

Ohm!!

On the surface, Saya’s eyes widened as the cocoon of energy pulsed violently, each thump radiating an incomprehensible force. Her heart raced, a mixture of nervousness and anticipation clawing at her chest.

Crack—!!

The cocoon’s surface split violently. A hand tore through, followed by a figure stepping into the open.

The being was massive, almost two meters tall, cloaked in dense, undulating energy that seemed alive, like a shroud of power. Dark red hair flowed freely, whipped by unseen winds. Two pairs of horns jutted from his forehead, each radiating a subtle but unmistakable aura of lethal intent.

His eyes burned deep crimson, and a third eye adorned his forehead, swirling with darkness and light in a perfect yin-yang, a window into incomprehensible power.

Pointed ears peeked from his hair, red fur flowed from his shoulders down to the chest, framing the monstrous orb embedded there. His nails were black as obsidian, and a scaled tail, dark and white intertwined, flicked behind him, each movement resonating with raw authority.

This figure was none other than Souta.

He closed his palm, feeling the surge of power coursing through every fiber of his being. This was the Fifth Evolution Stage. A transformation that transcended strength, reshaping his body and his very presence into something that of higher existence.

The air around him quivered. The battlefield above would never be the same.
