The Evolution Of A Goblin To The Peak

Chapter 1205: Binding and Ending

”Vashno, come with us. Leave this place,” Eztein said.

Vashno nodded. He had already decided from the moment he arrived in this land that he would eventually have to retreat.

The three of them flew backward, with Raven and the Lion’s Fang following close behind.

As they withdrew, they watched the situation escalate. The battlefield widened, the destruction intensified, and even God-rank beings had now stepped into the fray. If that was the case, then the Ruler of Gluttony was likely present as well. Nothing good ever came from encountering that being.

It almost always led to death.

Still, with their mortal perception, they couldn’t grasp the full scope of the conflict.

Who would prevail in this fearsome war?

No one knew. But one thing was certain, if the Ruler of Gluttony fell, it would be a blessing for the entire continent.

Before long, they reached a location roughly two hundred kilometers away from the center of the battlefield. It was far, yet still not far enough, considering the oppressive pressure earlier had blanketed hundreds of thousands of kilometers.

Eztein exhaled deeply. He glanced at Vashno and said, ”Who would’ve thought you’d been here all this time?”

”It just happened,” Vashno replied with a shrug.

...

In the lands of the Angel Faction, numerous high-ranking angels hovered in the sky, gazing toward the distant battlefield. Their defenses were fully raised. Every rune and formation across their territory was active and humming with power.

They were prepared for any outcome. Even if invaders arrived, breaching their territory would not be easy.

The overwhelming power surging from the Tomb of Gluttony rippled across their land, spilling over into the neighboring realm of the Fallen Angels.

Both Holy Lands were on high alert.

Even the major countries bordering the two Holy Lands trembled as they felt the shockwaves of divine battle. Fear spread through their people as they had no idea what catastrophe could have triggered a war involving God-rank beings so suddenly.

Several higher-beings from the neighboring Large Countries were now staring toward the region between the Angel Faction and the Fallen Angel Faction.

Mortals were the ones suffering the most from this conflict. Even a stray wisp of power from a higher-being could instantly erase their lives.

...

Inside the Tomb of Gluttony.

With Michael at the front, the other God-rank beings clashed fiercely with Esquin.

Bang! Bang!

Esquin pulled back, creating distance. His breathing was ragged, his body covered in wounds. Blood spilled from him in crimson arcs, splashing across the realm and warping the terrain in mere seconds.

He gripped his sword tightly as Michael and Azazel lunged at him from both sides.

Esquin unleashed a fearsome wave of darkness toward Azazel, then immediately twisted around to block Michael’s blade.

Their weapons collided, sending devastating shockwaves throughout the area.

Esquin poured more force into his strike and shoved Michael backward. Then he glanced to his side, only to see lightning, flames, and a slicing spatial attack were already closing in on him.

He had no time to dodge. He simply raised his hand and manifested a barrier of condensed power.

Bang!!

The lightning, flames, and spatial slash intertwined as they slammed into the barrier with overwhelming force. The barrier shattered instantly, and the explosion sent Esquin hurtling several kilometers away.

He skidded across the ground, darkness coiling around him like a living cloak. In the next moment, every wound on his body vanished were erased as though they had never existed.

Aside from Azazel and Michael, twenty other God-rank beings circled him. They had come fully prepared, their teamwork flawless. Without such precise coordination, Esquin would have already devoured one or two of them with ease.

And now, with Michael and Azazel standing firmly in front of him, they were preventing him from making even the slightest move.

Whoosh!!

Michael tore through the air, a streak of light aimed straight at Esquin’s heart.

Esquin lifted his hand to meet the blow but his fingers twitched, froze, and curled as a violent force slammed into his consciousness like a spike driven through his skull.

”Ghh—ARGH!!”

His vision lurched. His breath hitched. A searing agony crawled through his veins.

He twisted his head and saw her, Gabriel, floating with eerie stillness, both hands clutching a gleaming trumpet.

Her eyes were cold.

The trumpet hummed with ancient judgment.

”T-The... First Trumpet...!!” Esquin choked out.

Then the world detonated.

His nerves ignited. His bones felt like they were splitting apart. The realm around him drowned in a storm of hail, raging fire, and torrents of blood. Each drop sizzled on his skin like molten iron.

The [First Trumpet], a universal-grade artifact feared even by gods, tore through existence like a divine wrath. Every time it was sounded, lands cracked, oceans boiled, and mortals died screaming beneath the heavens.

This time was no different.

BOOOOM—!!

Space ruptured like shattered glass. Fragments of reality twisted, curling inward until they blurred into a suffocating haze.

Dream bled into reality.

And from that bleeding threshold, the dream realm plunged downward, a chaotic storm of nightmares and fantasies given shape, as countless manifestations of human dreams clawed their way into existence.

Argh!!

Esquin’s roar tore from his throat as he clenched his teeth so hard his jaw creaked. His vision swam in the fractured horizon where dream and reality bled into each other in a maddening blur. Through that distortion, he felt them... multiple presences, each one carrying the oppressive weight of a God-rank being.

”Magnificent... truly magnificent!!” Esquin snarled, eyes widening. ”Even the Vampire Lords crawl out for this!!”

He laughed just as Michael flashed into existence before him.

Esquin tried to move, but...

SHHK!

A flaming sword punched straight through his chest, bursting out his back in a spray of dark blood.

Whoosh!!

”Esquin,” Michael said coldly, flames reflecting in his eyes. ”You fall here.”

Michael brought the blade down in a vicious arc.

CRAAACK!!

”Ggh—Ugh!”

Esquin staggered as a massive gash tore open across his chest. White flames burrowed into him, crawling under his skin, flooding into his organs, devouring him from the inside out.

It burned like divine acid.

Michael stepped back just as the air trembled.

Dozens of golden chains materialized around them with a metallic shriek, each one pulsing with celestial authority.

Then they struck.

SHING! SHING! SHING!

Chain after chain speared into Esquin’s limbs, torso, shoulders, and even his skull driving him backward as glowing seals wrapped around him, tightening like the grip of a merciless god.

He was pinned, suspended, completely at their mercy.

The [Binding Chains of Heaven].

Another universal-grade artifact, one that had subdued tyrants, calamities, and gods who dared challenge the heavens.

Now, it sought to drag Esquin into that same fate.

Argh!!

Esquin spat a mouthful of blood, his body convulsing as the golden chains tightened, suppressing every ounce of force he could summon.

Several God-rank beings descended onto the chains, their power pouring into the bindings like molten rivers of divine energy.

Ohm!!

The Tomb of Gluttony shook violently, teetering on the edge between reality and dream. The terrain warped and twisted with every heartbeat, as colossal waves of energy gushed outward like an unstoppable tsunami, tearing the realm apart.

ARGH!!!

Esquin thrashed with all his might, muscles straining, veins pulsing, but even with his monstrous strength, breaking free seemed impossible. The chains were more than just metal... they were the will of gods made manifest.

Then, something caught his attention.

His eyes widened, burning with fury and disbelief.

He looked up.

”Ava... Avaritia!! Why are you here?!”

His roar shattered the warped skies, a resonating scream filled with malice and raw power.

”I... was close! The Original Sin! Everyone will pay for it!”

The ground trembled as Esquin summoned every ounce of his strength. The chains binding him began to glow with a blinding light, straining against his fury.

Beneath his feet, darkness spread like a living shadow, crawling across the Tomb of Gluttony, swallowing everything, and threatening to spill beyond into the world itself.

Boom!!

The God-rank beings gritted their teeth, holding the chains with all their might. Even for their level, the power radiating from the Ruler of Gluttony was overwhelming, an oppressive force that pressed against their very souls.

”He’s devouring the [Binding Chains of Heaven]... and my Grid.”

A No God Emperor hovered in the air, eyes fixed on Esquin.

”The past... and the future,” Azazel murmured, his gaze grave. ”He’s trying to swallow it all... The past that led to this moment, and the future where he would be bound. He is trying to devour them to reshape the present, to prevent us from ever restraining him.”

And it wasn’t just the past and future... It was the present itself.

Reality trembled under his grasp. Time, fate, and power all were forced to sink.

Esquin wasn’t holding back at all. He was trying to devour the present itself, clawing at the fabric of reality with pure, ravenous will.

ARGHHHHHH—!!!

He floated violently in the air, body contorted as the chains tightened around him, glowing brighter under the strain.

”It’s time to end this,” Michael said, voice cold and resolute. ”I’ll separate him from his physical form.”

He shot forward like a spear of divine flame.
