The Evolution Of A Goblin To The Peak

Chapter 1204: The Gluttony and No God

”This entire realm is surrounded,” Michael replied calmly.

With both angels and fallen angels mobilizing their forces, they wouldn’t allow this plan to fail. Veinn and Coriel were used as bait to draw out the Ruler of Gluttony. The moment he made his move to strike them was the moment they would appear.

As for the Tomb of Gluttony hidden in this land, they had been unaware of it at first. But after a thorough investigation, its existence was finally uncovered. Knowing the Ruler of Gluttony would inevitably come here, they began their preparations in advance.

Whoosh!!

Two figures suddenly materialized beside Esquin.

Cherubim and Baraqiel.

Baraqiel raised his hand, and black lightning roared forth, annihilating everything in its wake. The bolts exploded outward, spreading across hundreds of thousands of kilometers, ripping this very realm apart.

Cherubim unleashed a torrent of white flame, consuming everything in sight. In an instant, the entire realm was drowned in blazing white fire and crackling black lightning.

The other God-rank beings surged with power, reinforcing the realm’s boundaries. Their combined might prevented Baraqiel and Cherubim’s devastating attacks from spilling outward.

”Utterly unpleasant.”

Esquin cast a cold, piercing gaze to the side. He raised his sword, conjuring a field of force that clashed violently against the combined assault of Baraqiel and Cherubim.

Boom!!!

Azazel and Michael charged in, but Esquin erupted with overwhelming power. Billions of runes scattered throughout the realm flickered to life, triggering eruptions of elemental energy from every direction.

Eiiiiikk!!

A shrill, ear-splitting cry reverberated as countless eyes blinked open within the darkness. Fangs emerged, and boundless hostility swept across the entire realm. Every being within it shuddered instinctively.

”The Tomb of Gluttony is mine to decree.”

Esquin’s voice shook the realm.

His palm pierced through the air itself, reaching toward the Cherubim beside him.

Ohm!!

His power didn’t just rise, it ruptured upward. A violent spike that tore straight through the realm’s fabric like a blade through flesh. The God-rank beings stabilizing the realm froze in horror. They pushed back with everything they had and nothing happened. His power simply ignored them.

Boom!!

A deafening shockwave rippled outward. The land between the Angel Faction and Fallen Angel Faction buckled as if its spine snapped. Mountains crumbled. Clouds were shredded into dust.

Vashno, Eztein, Doranjan, and countless others felt something far worse. Their skulls felt like they were being peeled open from the inside.

”What is this?!”

”A... a god—!!”

”Arghhh!!”

”H-Help!!”

Then it descended.

A pressure so immense it felt like the air itself turned into molten lead. Every living being within a hundred thousand kilometers was crushed beneath it.

Mortals below B-rank didn’t even scream.

They just dropped, eyes rolling back, bodies twitching once before going still.

B-rank and A-rank beings clawed at their faces, tearing their skin, their minds cracking like thin ice. Blood streamed from their noses and ears as they shrieked incoherently.

The ground convulsed.

The horizon warped.

The sky darkened, not gradually, but violently, as though someone ripped the light out of it.

Breathing became a struggle.

Thinking became pain.

Existing became agony.

It truly felt like the world was being punished for being alive.

Even Shackled Realm experts were trembling on their knees, their bones creaking under the unbearable weight.

”A... higher... being...” Vashno forced out, every word scraped raw from his throat.

”It’s... beyond anything...” Doranjan gasped, veins bursting along his arms.

Eztein couldn’t even steady his breathing. His muscles spasmed as he grit his teeth so hard blood ran down his gums, desperately trying to endure the monstrous pressure crushing the land.

The three of them realized that this wasn’t the aura of a mere God-rank being.

This presence was wrong, suffocating, endless... something that eclipsed every higher force they had ever encountered.

A chilling thought crawled into their minds.

This was likely the Ruler of Gluttony himself descended in person, carrying a power that towered above every existence in this land.

A being whose very presence devoured hope.

...

Inside the fused Tomb of Gluttony.

Esquin floated in the air, radiating an overwhelming, suffocating power. At his side, the Cherubim thrashed desperately, its divine form cracking under the pressure. The darkness around them gnawed at its defenses, chewing through layer after layer like flesh between teeth.

”You all can fall...”

His voice rippled outward, and the air itself detonated with a surge of even greater power.

The darkness lunged.

It bit into the Cherubim’s core, swallowing its flames, its consciousness, its very existence. In seconds, the Cherubim was gone, erased so completely that not even a spark remained.

”This is my Grid. The [Living Gluttony].”

Having just devoured a Monster Lord whole, Esquin lowered his gaze toward Azazel, Michael, Veinn, and the assembled God-rank beings.

Azazel’s expression hardened. ”The strongest Ruler of Gluttony in history... He surpasses all those before him. His Grid and his Domain resonate perfectly with the Aspect, amplifying each other severalfold.”

Esquin’s Grid wasn’t merely the power to swallow. He possessed the true concept of Gluttony, an ever-growing, ever-devouring force.

Even the previous Ruler had wielded only the power of Swallowing, a shadow, a fragment. But Esquin... Esquin was Gluttony incarnate.

”It can synchronize with itself and form a trinity, boosting and restoring each aspect in perfect harmony,” Michael muttered. He opened his palm, and a majestic sword wreathed in white flames materialized. ”Fulfill the contract... and I will handle the rest.”

Fighting the Ruler of Gluttony was too great a burden. Azazel and Michael both knew that even if they managed to defeat Esquin now, their factions would suffer catastrophic losses, losses that would take ages to recover from.

That was how overwhelming Esquin had become.

As Top-tier God-rank beings, they trusted their abilities but even they could feel the great force of his power.

”I know. So don’t forget those words.”

A voice echoed back to Michael.

Esquin’s head snapped to the side, his expression tightening with shock.

Then, another colossal power tore through the realm, descending upon the battlefield like an executioner’s judgment.

BOOM!!

”Even you—!!” Esquin narrowed his eyes.

His accusation was swallowed by a surge of ancient, merciless energy.

”I’ll show you my Grid, the [World where No God Lives].”

The force slammed into the Tomb of Gluttony and then beyond it, flooding outward in all directions. Everything be it living being or not was caught within its expanding domain.

Esquin’s momentum faltered. His aura shrank, collapsing by several overwhelming folds.

”No God Emperor! I never thought you would work with likes of angels and fallen angels!” Esquin roared, his voice shaking the space around him.

”Hehe! I just received a deal I couldn’t refuse.”

A cold laugh drifted through the fractured air.

”Now this is better.” A faint smile curved Azazel’s lips as he looked toward the now-agitated Esquin.

Michael raised his blazing sword, its white flames hissing as they carved light through the void. He pointed it at Esquin, ready to unleash the full weight of his might.

The No God Emperor’s presence smothered the battlefield. His Grid, the [World where No God Lives], was a power that stripped away divinity itself. It nullified every form of higher existence: Grids, Domains, Monster Lord Transformations. Under its influence, no God-rank being could wield their true power.

It offered no destructive amplification.

No divine augmentation.

It simply erased the very concept of higher power.

And that is why...

He was called the No God Emperor.

”Did you really think you could subdue me that easily? I’ve been fighting my whole life without my Grid. This changes nothing,” Esquin said.

He charged forward, only to be intercepted by Michael. The two exchanged high-speed blows, spinning through the air. Their weapons clashed again and again, each impact sending out powerful shockwaves.

Michael and the others couldn’t use their Grids either, but it didn’t matter. As long as Esquin couldn’t use his Grid to amplify his Aspect severalfold, they had a fighting chance.

Azazel and the others moved in, joining the assault as they all attacked Esquin at once.

...

Outside the Tomb of Gluttony.

The land was on the verge of ruin. Hundreds of Messengers of Gluttony marched across the devastated terrain, hurling concentrated blasts of energy that tore through everything in their path.

Angels, fallen angels, and warriors from various factions fought desperately to hold the line.

Boom! Boom!

Explosions erupted in every direction.

Columns of smoke rose like towering mushrooms, painting an apocalyptic scene across the battlefield. Bodies littered the ground, staining the earth with blood.

No one had expected the opening of this secret realm to escalate into a full-scale war against the Gluttony Army. The situation had spiraled far beyond their imagination.

Eztein, Vashno, and Doranjan retreated after clashing with several Messengers of Gluttony.

Right now, every sense in their bodies was on high alert.

”We need to put some distance between us,” Vashno said.

”Yeah. That pressure earlier definitely came from a high-ranking god,” Doranjan replied with a grim nod.

Now that God-rank beings were involved, they had no choice but to pull back. Without the support of another god, pushing forward was nearly impossible. Worse, if that same overwhelming pressure appeared again, there was a high chance they would perish on the spot.
