Chapter 847: Chapter 673: The Unlucky Dumb Duo

Upon hearing this, Yuan Bao’s round face twitched almost imperceptibly, and he couldn’t help but raise his hand to touch his own hair.

“Do I have to shave my head?” Yuan Bao was a bit reluctant, to be honest, he felt a bit pained.

“Of course! To enter the monastery, naturally you must shave your head! With three thousand strands of worldly troubles, what are you taking them into the monastery for? Isn’t that blasphemy against our Buddha?” Gu Changsheng said solemnly and righteously upon hearing this.

Yuan Bao’s plump body stiffened, and he said nothing.

But everyone could see the unwillingness from his conflicted face.

For a moment, several people turned their heads and chuckled quietly.

Meanwhile, Gu Changsheng turned around, took her little sausage bun from Yue Xilou’s arms, and trotted energetically towards the outside of the hall. As she walked, she chatted with her son, “Son, the snake meat you hunted carefully won’t be needed. Yuan Bao is about to enter the monastery. One of the eight Buddhist precepts is to abstain from meat, so the delicious snake soup is destined to be left to us two.”

As she spoke, Gu Changsheng even swallowed her saliva, “Just thinking about it is exhilarating. That snake soup, the current world’s most delicious dish, can make one’s tongue melt away…”

“Yes, yes, it’s so delicious!” The little sausage bun, with sparkling eyes, shared a mutual craving with his mother, pretending to drool.

“Uh…” Yuan Bao, who was left behind, wobbled slightly, almost imperceptibly swallowed his saliva, lifted his foot a bit before pulling it back, looking all conflicted.

The little sausage bun lying on Gu Changsheng’s shoulder waved his paw at Yuan Bao with a bright smile, “Fat Yuan Bao, you go be a monk, and leave all the delicious food to me. Don’t worry, I guarantee I’ll eat it all!”

This time, Yuan Bao couldn’t hold back anymore, and his round, jade-like body shot towards the hall door like an arrow, shouting, “Wait! Wait!”

Behind him, Borjigin Nian and Yue Xilou saw this, and both burst into laughter.

“Lady Changsheng, um… actually, entering the monastery doesn’t require abstaining from meat, right? Look at Little Monk Bu Jie, he still eats meat and drinks wine just the same,” Yuan Bao hurriedly spoke up as he followed behind Gu Changsheng and her son, “In his words, it’s ‘meat and wine pass through the intestines, but Buddha remains in the heart’!”

“Oh my, that’s something, Yuan Bao, you can already be compared to Little Monk Bu Jie?” Gu Changsheng turned back immediately upon hearing this, speaking with a half-smile, “You must know, Little Monk Bu Jie can see the past and know the future, the Secret Sect Shang Clan he belongs to is a lineage of human gods, his insight and cultivation foundation are rarely matched in the world, Yuan Bao, after experiencing life and death calamities, I never knew you have already realized such great divine power, comparable to Little Monk Bu Jie!”

“Uh…” Yuan Bao choked upon hearing this, his chubby baby face full of shame.

Gu Changsheng wasn’t finished yet, she stopped and enthusiastically continued, “Come on Yuan Bao, since you’ve realized such great divine power, quickly tell me, when can I give birth to a daughter to take over my position as the ruler of the Southern Country?”

“Uh…” Yuan Bao scratched his head, his face full of embarrassment, hesitating before he spoke, “This, I can’t calculate…”

Gu Changsheng glared, “Liar, making me happy for nothing!”

But in the next moment, she continued reassuringly, “But Yuan Bao, don’t be disheartened, it’s only fair that your sudden enlightenment is a bit delayed and your cultivation is inferior to Little Monk Bu Jie. Don’t lose heart, once you shave your head and enter the monastery, devote yourself to Buddhism, uphold the Buddhist precepts, I’m sure in no time you’ll achieve something, Yuan Bao, I’m rooting for you!”

As she spoke, Gu Changsheng even threw Yuan Bao a big flirtatious wink, a gaze that unmistakably conveyed schadenfreude.

This one flirtatious wink made Yuan Bao’s strong body shudder, and he involuntarily took a step back.

Gu Changsheng turned and walked away, not bothering with him anymore.

Seeing this, Yuan Bao naturally followed.

Behind them, Borjigin Nian and Yue Xilou walked out of the hall, both looking at the bouncing Yuan Bao, shaking their heads helplessly.

“With an appetite like his, wanting to enter the monastery?” Borjigin Nian curled his lips, “It’s purely Little Eunuch’s incense offering, fooling Buddha!”

“Hehe…” Yue Xilou chuckled lightly, “It seems Zhou Mu’s personal eunuch is destined to have no affinity with Buddhism.”

“Affinity with Buddhism? If the Buddhist Sect had disciples like him, that would be truly deserving of one Buddha going out and two Buddhas ascending to heaven!” Borjigin Nian laughed, striding forward, “Let’s go, follow along and watch the show.”

Up ahead, Yuan Bao’s round body was like a flea, jumping around behind Gu Changsheng and her son, speaking anxiously, “Lady Changsheng, I think perhaps I shouldn’t enter the monastery, maybe I’m not destined for that.”

“How can that be, you’ve already experienced sudden enlightenment!” Gu Changsheng shook her head, “Since you’ve already realized, not entering the monastery would be such a waste.”

“But, I’m such a glutton, even if I enter the monastery, I’ll probably be expelled in two or three days at most. Lady Changsheng, I just got another chance at life, please don’t make me eat green vegetables and wild vegetables. I can’t live without meat, and I think the snake soup Young Master prepared for me is just perfect!” Yuan Bao said eagerly.

“No way! You’re about to become a monk, and the snake soup is mine! Mine! All mine!” This time, the little sausage bun was unhappy, showing a mouth full of little white teeth, his tiny canine teeth slightly exposed.

“Wasn’t it prepared for me? How can Young Master change his mind at the last minute?” Yuan Bao was not happy, almost about to cry.

“You’re the one who wants to be a monk. As a monk, you should eat Chinese cabbage, go ahead, I’ll treat you to some cabbage!” The little sausage bun declared confidently.

“No, Lady Changsheng, Young Master, I really won’t become a monk, I have no affinity with Buddhism!” Yuan Bao lamented, as if he could see countless delicacies flying away from him, flapping their wings…

For someone obsessed with food, this was too deadly, heart-wrenching!

No delicious food, life is worse than death!

This was Yuan Bao’s thought.

Of course, Gu Changsheng, being a fellow foodie, understood his thoughts well, hence she became even more convinced that Yuan Bao should take up monkhood.

“Yuan Bao, being greedy is not good, taking up monkhood would be better, following the monastic rules, without alcohol and meat, surely, it will help you lose weight and become a refined gentleman, your dear Lady is waiting, counting on you, alright?”

“Ah! Lady, why doesn’t Yuan Bao just die once more, living like this is just too miserable!” Yuan Bao cried, eyes brimming with tears.

“Don’t say that, a Buddha-affined person who suddenly gains enlightenment can’t just die like this!” Gu Changsheng laughed, refusing to agree, gently patting the little follower Yuan Bao with pure innocence. “Relax, I’ll have Little Monk Bu Jie tonsure you later, with such a highly skilled Senior Monk tonsuring you, you must be happy about it.”

Yuan Bao was speechless with choked emotion, he wasn’t happy, once again catching up, he started sincerely, “Lady Changsheng, let’s skip the tonsure, a bald head doesn’t match my whole aura, only a divine trickster like Little Monk Bu Jie can carry that style, I’m not of the same ilk as him!”

“Hmm!” Gu Changsheng nodded upon hearing this, laughing brightly like a flower, “Surely Little Monk Bu Jie, hearing these words from you, would be more than willing to induct you into monkhood!”

Threatening Little Monk Bu Jie with a sentence, then getting hit with a wooden club, can still dare to call him a divine trickster!

Tsk tsk… Gu Changsheng looked at Yuan Bao with eyes full of sympathy!

“Ah ah ah!” Yuan Bao apparently also realized this, rubbing the forehead that was hit by the Mulberry Wood Hammer yesterday, wailing non-stop.

He thought, he might as well just die!

This life is too miserable!

“Haha…” Gu Changsheng was in a great mood, patting the baby son perched on her shoulder, in high spirits, “Let’s go, son, let’s go eat snake soup!”

“Ah! Lady Changsheng, wait, take me with you!” The incessantly wailing Yuan Bao bounced up like a ball, keeping up without falling behind!

“Hmph! You dare to scare me by wanting to be a monk!” Gu Changsheng was indignant, glaring at Yuan Bao.

Just now, she was really frightened, wasn’t she?

Anyone who knows a bit about Yuan Bao, seeing that Yuan Bao sitting stably on a meditation cushion would also be scared, wouldn’t they? It was too strange!

“I honestly wanted to be a monk just now!” Yuan Bao defended, “I didn’t mean to scare you, Lady.”

“Do you still want to be a monk now?”

“No way!” Yuan Bao replied extremely decisively.

“Ah!” Gu Changsheng sighed, “What a pity, such a good candidate for the Buddhist Sect, was lured away by a bowl of snake soup!”

Yuan Bao, with a gloomy expression, lagged behind his Lady, extremely dejected, why does he feel living is so hard?

After a while, Gu Changsheng turned back, looking at Yuan Bao with fiery eyes, speaking very seriously, “Yuan Bao, I have a question.”

“Please ask, Lady.” Yuan Bao cooperated well, because he felt, competing with Lady Changsheng in a battle of wits, is bound to end in inevitable doom! Ah, no, it’s a fate worse than death!

“Where did you get the item you use to enter monkhood?”

“Huh?” Yuan Bao was puzzled.

“That shabby meditation cushion, where did it come from?” Gu Changsheng raised an eyebrow, “In my Heavenly Palace, logically, there shouldn’t be such an incongruous thing here, where on earth did you dig it up from?”

The Heavenly Palace was renovated, a grand complex of palaces, everywhere with jade tiles, that meditation cushion was really too strange!

“Uh…” Yuan Bao scratched his head upon hearing this, his complexion alternating between blue and white, after a while he mumbled, “That wasn’t any meditation cushion, it was a bird’s nest on a big tree outside the palace, I climbed for ages to get up there, and only managed to poke it down with great difficulty!”

“You!” Upon hearing this, Gu Changsheng instantly fell silent. To be honest, that shabby meditation cushion was indeed woven from straw and wood, thinking about it now, it really did resemble a bird’s nest a bit!

“D*mn it! Yuan Bao, you’ve caused trouble!” Her mouth twitching, Gu Changsheng spoke with a face full of schadenfreude.

“Huh?”

“Outside the Heavenly Palace, every plant and tree is born for the Gu, that bird’s nest, is probably the nest for the Life-bound Gu of one of my palace attendants!” Gu Changsheng spoke straightforwardly without hiding anything, then sympathetically patted Yuan Bao’s shoulder, speaking, “Yuan Bao, you’ll have to look out for yourself, you got rid of my palace attendant’s Gu Nest, once they find out, they’ll surely make things difficult for you, be careful when eating in the future, don’t accidentally eat Gu insects brought for revenge…”
