Chapter 846: Chapter 672: Yuan Bao’s Sudden Enlightenment to Become a Monk

Under the night sky, Gu Changsheng did not know what Little Monk Bu Jie was thinking. At this moment, standing inside the Heavenly Palace Shrine, she silently watched the peacefully breathing Yuan Bao, who appeared to be asleep, as the corners of her mouth gradually curved up.

Only now, with Little Monk Bu Jie’s words, did she confirm that her dear Yuan Bao had truly returned!

Yet, the expected divine calamity did not descend!

However, Gu Changsheng had no time to think too much at that moment. She gazed quietly at Yuan Bao’s plump body, the curve of her mouth growing wider, until a blooming smile emerged, dazzling and enchanting.

She looked up at the majestic ceiling of the shrine, the paintings of people worshiping coming into view, causing Gu Changsheng to take a deep breath.

The journey to the Southern Border, starting with her little meat bun being abducted here, had finally reached a perfect conclusion.

Gu Changsheng turned and walked out slowly.

On a path filled with blood, she reclaimed the Southern Border, revitalized the Phoenix Clan, Bashu submitted, Southern Chen became subordinate, and she found her biological father from a past life, even discovering a slim chance to revive her mother. Everything, though unexpected, was surprisingly perfect!

“After more than a year heading south, I’m finally about to set off on the journey home.” The soft murmur slipped from Gu Changsheng’s rosy lips as she vanished from outside the shrine. In the distance, two rows of Heavenly Palace Servants followed not too far behind, guarding her.

That night, everyone knew their Sovereign had achieved exactly what they desired, concluding a dangerous wish safely.

As the stars swirled and dawn came swiftly, after daybreak, Gu Changsheng seemed a little absent.

The reason was simple; despite having received news that Yuan Bao had awakened and was long awaited, she had yet to see that plump figure, leaving her puzzled.

“What’s the situation? Could something be wrong with his body?” Gu Changsheng worried.

“Not at all, that lord’s body is as usual. After waking, he even ate a lot,” a female official stepped forward and replied respectfully.

Needless to say, the lord who had eaten a lot was Yuan Bao.

Gu Changsheng frowned, “If there’s no problem, why hasn’t he come to see me? With his personality, it’s already remarkable he hasn’t caused a ruckus known to the entire world, how could he be so quiet?”

“Something unusual must have happened!” Borjigin Nian, standing by, stroked his chin and spoke with an air of seriousness, blinking his deep eyes, “I heard Little Monk hit Xiao Yuanbao with a wooden club. At breakfast today, Little Monk was nowhere to be seen, they say he’s gone into retreat. Gu Changsheng, do you think his knock might have caused some issue, hence he’s hiding?”

Hearing this, Gu Changsheng immediately glared, “He dares! Let’s go, have a look!”

With that, Gu Changsheng led her entourage towards the palace where Yuan Bao resided.

Along the way, countless palace attendants stopped and bowed, but Gu Changsheng ignored them, a touch of worry evident in her eyes.

If Yuan Bao really had any aftereffects, she would regret it for life!

The people around, who had formed deep friendships with Yuan Bao over time, shared her concern.

“Mother, is Fat Yuan Bao alright?” Little meat bun lay on his master’s shoulder and spoke softly, “I still want to treat him to something delicious. Yesterday, I went hunting and brought back a piece of snake meat to make snake soup for him…”

“He’ll be fine. When he hears you prepared Gu Snake Soup, he’ll be overjoyed,” Gu Changsheng replied softly, swiftly making her way to the palace where Yuan Bao was.

Then.

Then, Gu Changsheng froze in the wide-open hall entrance, not moving.

Everyone else arrived one after another and also stood frozen at the entrance, gaping at the scene inside.

Inside the open hall, a tattered meditation cushion sat incongruously against the luxurious Heavenly Palace interior, and the most out-of-place sight was the round figure sitting cross-legged on the cushion, appearing to chant scriptures.

The chubby, baby-faced figure had a solemn expression, somewhat resembling Little Monk Bu Jie, lips moving up and down, chanting ceaselessly…

This made Gu Changsheng stare wide-eyed, as if she mistakenly glimpsed Little Monk Bu Jie.

Possessed? Gu Changsheng’s mouth twitched slightly.

The person sitting on the meditation cushion chanting was indeed her dear Yuan Bao!

How did he manage to exude an aura of solemnness?

All past interactions with Yuan Bao flooded everyone’s mind, leaving them stupefied and incredulous, especially Gu Changsheng!

Damn, this is so disillusioning!

“Could it really be that Shang Xie’s knock caused a problem?” Gu Changsheng surmised the worst, gritting her teeth.

“It seems so,” Borjigin Nian agreed.

“Oh no, is Fat Yuan Bao going to become a monk?” Little meat bun wailed, his chubby face bunching up, “Having one monk in the family is just right, if there’s another, won’t we be overwhelmed by the sound of the wooden fish?”

“Don’t worry, he doesn’t have a wooden fish,” Yue Xilou blinked, a look of confusion crossing his astonishingly beautiful face.

“Godfather, is this my Xiao Er Que? Or is it another Shang Xie? Whose memory did Shang Xie weave into Yuan Bao’s head?” Gu Changsheng’s Phoenix Eyes widened in amazement and uncertainty, “It was perfectly fine last night…”

She was utterly sure that before Yuan Bao took that wooden club to the head last night, everything was normal.

But now, it’s clearly not normal.

Yuan Bao and Little Monk Bu Jie, Yuan Bao and Monk, they’re totally unrelated!

“Amitabha…”

Just as everyone was full of amazement and uncertainty, the well-rounded figure sitting on the mat spoke.

The moment he opened his mouth and uttered that phrase, it shocked everyone!

“What the heck!” Gu Changsheng cursed under her breath; this must be the problem, that wooden club actually turned him into a monk!

“Now, it’s really over!” Borjigin Nian murmured, “Yuan Bao has evolved from an eunuch to a monk…”

“Huh?” Xiao Rou Bao froze upon hearing that.

Yue Xilou’s face darkened slightly.

At this moment, the person on the mat opened his eyes, lively looking at everyone, and spoke, “Lady Changsheng, I have been enlightened.”

“Huh?” Now it was Gu Changsheng’s turn to be stunned, her mouth and eyes twitching as she awkwardly asked, “What have you realized?”

“Life and death!” The person on the mat replied matter-of-factly, his chubby baby face instantly regaining its former vitality, the illusion of solemnity shattered, brimming with a certain lively energy, “Lady Changsheng, I have truly been enlightened; I have died once, I feel if I enter the monastery, I can surely rise before Little Monk Bu Jie, maybe even become a Buddha instantly!”

“Phew!”

“Phew!”

“…”

When Yuan Bao said this, everyone at the hall entrance exhaled deeply, looking like their Three Souls and Six Spirits had returned to their bodies.

To be honest, they were really scared by the solemn yuanbao just now!

“You? Instantly become Buddha?” The heart that had leapt to Gu Changsheng’s throat finally settled down, and she immediately cast a sharp glance, and stepped towards the hall, speaking with a combination of coaxing and slight disdain, “Yuan Bao, it’s not that I’m saying anything bad about you, but you’re destined to have no Buddhist fate in this life; you’d be better off honing yourself in the bustling world.”

“Right, Yuan Bao, your temperament is totally mismatched with a monk.” Borjigin Nian agreed, moving closer and waving a hand in front of Yuan Bao’s face, still carrying hints of amazement, “Godfather, really came to life, unbelievable, really resurrected, went through life and death!”

“Of course! I told you I understood, but you didn’t believe it; only someone like me who has Buddhist fate can have such blessings! Humph!” Yuan Bao deftly raised his hand, flicking away Borjigin Nian’s hand that was waving in front of him, “Princess Nian, stop shaking it, it’s dizzying; I want a sudden enlightenment!”

“Uh…” Borjigin Nian fell silent; you feel dizzy, so be it, wanting sudden enlightenment for what?

“I’ve decided, I will enter the monastery, focus solely on Buddha in hopes of swiftly achieving my aim!” Yuan Bao got up from the mat, patting his round behind, speaking earnestly.

“Huh?”

“Uh?”

“…”

Upon hearing this, everyone turned their gaze, not wanting to look directly.

“Lady Changsheng, Yuan Bao can no longer serve you and the master; Yuan Bao is now enlightened, everything is emptiness, I must follow the true path within my heart.” Yuan Bao’s chubby face was exceptionally earnest.

“Eh… are you sure?” Upon hearing this, Gu Changsheng’s face twitched sharply, speaking with amazement and uncertainty.

“Absolutely sure.” Yuan Bao was extremely determined, his heart towards Buddha exceptionally sincere.

Everyone exchanged amazed and uncertain glances, no longer looking at the current Yuan Bao, not wanting to stare directly; it felt oddly chaotic!

Yuan Bao as a monk? That temperament, completely mismatched!

Meanwhile, Gu Changsheng stood by, the light in her Phoenix Eyes flickering uncertainly, she cupped her chin and circled Yuan Bao twice, even reaching out to poke twice, finally walking to Yuan Bao’s side and, with a face reluctantly nodding, “Since your heart towards Buddha is set, I can’t prevent you; having gone through life and death, evolving from eunuch to monk, you have at least completed a little eunuch’s ultimate evolution. Whether eunuch or monk, neither can approach women, which is not a difficulty for you.”

On hearing this, everyone’s expression shifted, glancing in amazement towards Gu Changsheng.

“Gu Changsheng, are you crazy? You’re actually letting Yuan Bao act like this foolishly?” Borjigin Nian narrowed his eyes, clearly disagreeing.

“Of course!” Gu Changsheng nodded, lifting a hand to pat Yuan Bao’s forehead, “His sudden enlightenment didn’t come easily, having gone through life and death to cultivate a bit of Buddhist fate; how could I let his life lose its aim? It’s settled then, Yuan Bao, you will enter the monastery and pursue your true path, keep seeking enlightenment; afterwards, I’ll fetch Little Monk Bu Jie to have him shave your head! Except those three thousand troubles, becoming a bright shiny bald head.”

“Uh…”
