Chapter 831: Chapter 659: Ladies, All Into the Bowl!

Wherever these locusts pass, though it’s said not even a blade of grass survives, truly not a single piece of treasure is left!

Gold and silver beads and foil, let it be, if it’s plundered, then it’s plundered!

But the key point is they even snatch women!

Throughout Liaodong, unmarried women over the age of fifteen are basically all plundered, taken away!

For a nation to lose so many female family members, it is undoubtedly a catastrophe!

All Liaodong is in panic, but news comes that the kidnapped women are treated with considerable respect, even allowed to freely choose a soldier as a husband, Liaodong is suddenly confused!

The Celestial Tome had already been issued in the capital, and under the terrifying influence of the book, all of Liaodong is filled with the fear of impending death!

Yet the news of snatching women emerges, and upon hearing that the women taken weren’t killed but could marry, suddenly, under the shadow of death, Liaodong’s people were moved!

One must understand, wherever the Celestial Tome goes, it brings catastrophe upon catastrophe, the heads of these Great Zhou soldiers turned out to be the husbands of the one issuing the Celestial Tome, what does that imply? It implies that marrying Great Zhou soldiers could perhaps give them a sliver of survival under the Tome!

For a moment, whether Liaodong’s nobles or the common folk, all offered their daughters with both hands, along with all their wealth as dowry!

In any case, if not given, they’d be taken away empty-handed, so it’s better to offer them willingly!

And as for Jiang One, General Er and others, they spread open their bags, sitting leisurely as wives filled their bowls!

In the Southern Chen Imperial Palace, Empress Dowager Xiao bit through her teeth, face grey and her expression worn, waved her hand, offering two flowery Princesses from the Southern Chen Royal Family, and following with the opening of the national treasury, offering everything as dowry to the Great Zhou troops coming to plunder!

Zhou Mu’s subordinates, the top ten commanders, Jiang One to Jiang Wu till now thrown under Zhou Mu’s command, all fiercely loyal bachelors, while Jiang Liu, General Qi, soldiers like Yhan Ting and Diao Chan join the Dark Night Army following Gu Changsheng up in Baili Mountain, then when Southern Chen’s two flowery Princesses along with hundreds of carts of treasures reached the Great Zhou’s camp, the eyes of the five Great Generals instantly lit up!

”Confiscate the dowry!” Jiang One waved a large hand, compiling those hundreds of carts of gold and silver treasures into the arsenal.

”Someone come! Quickly take stock, check if the massive Royal Pearl from the North Sea I want is there? Check if the rare treasures of Liaodong I want are there? Check if these are enough to add to His Highness Prince Changsheng’s trousseau, if Empress Dowager Xiao is not mindful, our sons will go and plunder themselves!” General Er jumps around, busy and delighted.

The two flowery Princesses stood among those offered, pretty faces slightly bowed, looking at several Great Generals of Great Zhou, speechless for a moment.

Under the Celestial Tome, destined is the catastrophe of the Central Plains, it was said they’d sent troops against the Southwest, though eventually confronted Great Zhou, the ultimate intention is self-explanatory, the Imperial Family of Liaodong was supposed to be slaughtered utterly under the Celestial Tome, yet now...

Now the two most favored Princesses of the Liaodong Imperial Family were offered up, which in its way wasn’t without Empress Dowager Xiao’s love, traditionally it’s said, offered women only need to choose a husband in Great Zhou’s army, free from the worry of their lives...

On the other side, Empress Dowager Xiao and the Liaodong Imperial Family are anxious.

”Empress Dowager, offering two Princesses at once, though it may protect our King of Liaodong, the Jin Family’s royal lineage from extinction, is it not too much? After all, it’s protecting lives under the Celestial Tome, ordinary households might be unaffected, but we after all are the royal family, after all once used military force against the Southwest...” An old Prince worriedly spoke, already prepared to be buried within the abyss of the Gu tide.

An old woman seated at the top, hair grey, face desolate, ”The Female Star of the Occupation Room! The Female Star rises against the Southwest Land, everything, is already unavoidable, my grandson Lin Yuan lost his life at her hand, we Liaodong have already formed deep enmity with Emperor Changsheng, the chaos of the Four Kingdoms, Emperor Changsheng arrives in the Central Plains, only through Zhou Mu’s subordinates’ marriage alliance, might we escape her fierce wrath, heavens wish to extinguish my Northern Country, heavens wish to extinguish my Liaodong!”

”Empress Dowager!” the old Prince sighed helplessly.

”Someone, open the royal treasury, empty it out and send it over, as long as my two granddaughters’ lives are preserved, as long as the lineage of my Northern Country’s royal family remains unbroken, it will already be heaven’s blessing!” Empress Dowager Xiao clenched her fists, resolutely announced.

Immediately, chamberlains went to carry out her orders, soon thereafter, another hundred carts headed towards Great Zhou’s troops...

”Emptying my Northern Country’s wealth accumulated through generations, solely to seek a royal lineage unbroken, solely to preserve my two granddaughters, though I die, my regret is none!” Empress Dowager Xiao stood lonely and desolate at the Palace Gate, her old age conspicuous.

”The Celestial Tome has been issued, Liaodong cannot escape its tragic fate, as long as those two children remain, it’s not yet the end, may God’s bless be upon my Northern Country!” The old Prince watched the vast procession of carts leaving the Palace Gate, sighed deeply.

Now, their Southern Chen Imperial Palace can be considered emptied, not even a decent ornamental piece remains!

Northern Country’s Liaodong, upon receiving the Celestial Tome, already had the resolve to meet their doom, thus the arrival of Zhou Mu’s army gives them a fleeting chance of survival!

Thus, the entire nation offered willingly, extraordinarily self-aware!

However, the five Great Zhou generals, who took advantage of the chaos to loot, looked at the wealth that was repeatedly offered, and at the two beautiful princesses, and were not pleased!

”Damn it! That old hag, Dowager Empress Xiao, is indeed cunning, still holding back!” General Er stared at the two noble princesses in front of him, eyes shining, and said angrily, ”The wealth wasn’t fully offered at once, neither were the women! Let’s go! Let’s sweep through the Southern Chen Imperial Palace!”

After he spoke, the equally angry Generals San and Si followed him!

General Yi looked at the two noble women in front of him, who were panic-stricken but composed in demeanor, and he admired their upbringing. He quickly spoke to reassure them, ”No need to panic, noble ladies. We barbarian generals would never neglect you!”

”But what about them...” Princess Jin Miaoer pointed uneasily at the generals heading straight to the Palace Gate, her face full of worry.

Favored by Dowager Empress Xiao, they had been offered up, hoping for a chance of survival when the Southwestern army arrived. But now...alas! They could only sigh.

”Oh, them!” General Yi glanced at his brothers, who were filled with righteous indignation, and sighed helplessly, ”His Highness Prince Changsheng allowed us to come to Southern Chen to loot for two reasons: one, to seek some treasures as gifts for His Highness Prince Changsheng’s wedding; and two, we have been delayed in marriage due to our long service in the army. We’ve heard the women from the Northern Country are well-educated, so we can’t help but be interested. So we came here to gather all the unmarried women of Southern Chen. If you fancy anyone in the army, you can go back to Great Zhou with him, and he will marry you with due ceremony! His Highness’s forthcoming wedding brings blessings to us all.”

”Then... would you be willing to marry me?” Jin Miaoer looked at General Yi, then helplessly lowered her head, ”You probably wouldn’t want to. I am from the Northern Country royalty, my family has a deep grudge against the Southwestern Co-Ruler, and my brother offended Emperor Changsheng and died at her hands. She issued a Celestial Tome to cleanse the Central Plains, so how would she spare my Northern Country royal family...”

Jin Miaoer was indeed Jin Linyuan’s legitimate sister, extremely precious in Liaodong of the Northern Country. But now...

”Uh...” General Yi scratched his head; the demeanor he had developed over the years like Zhou Mu disappeared. The tall figure seemed somewhat awkward, looking at the two anxious women, he spoke again to reassure them, ”Don’t worry yet. His Highness Prince Changsheng, in a thousand-mile sound transmission to our lord, made it seem like there was no intention to eradicate you completely. His Highness Changsheng has healed and helped many, being most kind-hearted, not one to kill indiscriminately. His order to plunder your Northern Country Liaodong must have been to vent anger for His Highness Changsheng. So, you can choose who to marry or choose no one; it’s entirely up to you. Especially you, whose brother died at His Highness Changsheng’s hands. Even if you choose me, I dare not bring you back to Great Zhou...”

”Ah?” The Jin Miaoer sisters were both surprised and delighted upon hearing this, ”But we just saw that the palace treasury is open, and even valuable ornaments in the palace have been sent over. Why are they still going to the palace?”

Upon hearing this, General Yi was speechless for a moment, and finally explained very wholeheartedly, ”Well... Dowager Empress Xiao only sent you two sisters, and we brothers have five generals, this... this is totally not enough to go around!”

Jin Miaoer sisters: ”...”

In front of the Liaodong Imperial Palace, General Er, leading the mighty group of brothers, was arrogantly making demands like bandits!

”Old hag Dowager Empress Xiao, why haven’t you offered all the wealth in your palace yet!”

Dowager Empress Xiao and a group of palace attendants and Old Prince stood on the palace wall, sighing helplessly, ”To tell the truth, to ensure the safety of my two granddaughters, I have already offered up the entire nation.”

Upon hearing this, General Er was at a loss, ”What are you talking about? I don’t understand! If the wealth is gone, then give up your unmarried daughters!”

Pillaging is important, but so is finding wives! To take full advantage of the chaos we must be thorough! General Er clenched his fist!

”What?” Dowager Empress Xiao was stunned for a moment, then immediately overjoyed. With a wave of her old hand, she offered a dozen or so beautiful princesses beside her with both hands!

Some legitimate daughters from Old Prince families also took the opportunity to be offered.

General Er was satisfied, saying it was enough to go around, and left fully loaded.

Dowager Empress Xiao was even more satisfied, saying it was truly a blessing from heaven to preserve so many descendants!

It was just a matter of not having exchanged words, and both parties were quite delighted.

The grand matchmaking enterprise of the Great Zhou troops advancing into Liaodong was thriving and the news reached the neighboring Northern Mongolian!

The troops led by the soon-to-be-married General Zhou Mu, all of them already had families, so they just opened their bags, taking full advantage of the chaos smoothly. But Northern Mongolian was not pleased!

The Celestial Tome has been issued, the calamity of nation destruction is imminent, and when the Witch Sea Gu Tide passes through, not even offering countless wealth may save a life. But an alliance with Great Zhou troops is different, it’s almost like a life-saving charm!

But, the people who came to Northern Mongolian only looted wealth, not women!

How can this be? In comparison with Liaodong, isn’t this falling short?

This must not be allowed!

In no time, the unmarried women of Northern Mongolian were furious!
