Clan Rise: Starting as a Grandfather

Chapter 843: Chapter 625: Conflict from Divine Wood Island

On New Year’s Eve, Yang Zhenshan’s courtyard was bustling with excitement.

Many Yang family descendants gathered together, having a lively New Year’s Eve dinner.

And on New Year’s Day, countless visitors came to pay their respects.

Yang Zhenshan sat in the front yard, while Yu Qingyi stayed in the back yard, receiving wave after wave of younger generations who came to pay their respects.

In the hall of the front yard, Yang Zhenshan sat in a grand chair, smiling as he watched the younger generations come and bow.

”Dad, this is Song Shi. Do you remember him?” Yang Mingcheng led a young man of about twenty-four or twenty-five into the hall, followed by a six or seven-year-old child.

Yang Zhenshan cast him a glance, ”Your father isn’t senile yet!”

Song Shi smiled broadly as he knelt before Yang Zhenshan, bowing and saying, ”Grand-disciple wishes Grandmaster a Happy New Year!”

”Song Yuanzhao wishes the Grandmaster a Happy New Year!” The little child also bowed respectfully.

Yang Zhenshan immediately smiled kindly and waved his hand, ”Come, Zhao’er, come closer so Grandmaster can take a good look at you!”

Song Shi is Wang Yunqiao’s second son, thus Song Dashan’s grandson.

Wang Yunqiao and Song Hao have two sons and a daughter: the eldest, Song Jin; the second, Song Shi; and the youngest daughter, Song Xiu.

Yang Zhenshan naturally recognized Song Shi, after all, Yang Zhenshan was still in Chongshan Town when Song Shi was born.

Song Yuanzhao stepped forward, obediently coming to Yang Zhenshan’s side. Yang Zhenshan looked at the child and laughed heartily, ”This boy looks just like Yunqiao, see his eyes, they’re a spitting image of Yunqiao’s!”

”My mother says the same thing!” Song Shi quickly replied.

Yang Zhenshan nodded, ”But he looks too delicate. In the future, eat more meat and practice martial arts well, strive to grow into a big tall man!”

Wang Yunqiao wasn’t tall, and neither was Song Shi, he’s half a head shorter than Yang Mingcheng. However, the Song family’s genes are excellent, as Song Dashan and Song Hao are tall and strong.

Yang Zhenshan doesn’t like slender men, martial artists should naturally have a strong body.

”Yes, I’ll grow tall!” Song Yuanzhao said in a childish voice.

Yang Zhenshan laughed heartily, ”Good, here, Grandmaster will give you a fruit to eat, after eating it, you will surely grow taller!”

He said, taking out a jade box and handing it to Song Yuanzhao.

Inside the jade box was an Ice Heart Fruit.

In the past few days since returning, he didn’t know how many Ice Heart Fruits he had given away.

No way, currently the production of Ice Heart Fruits and Star Origin Fruits was the highest, but Star Origin Fruits were not suitable for children, only Ice Heart Fruits could be given to children.

”Thank you, Grandmaster Zhao’er!”

Afterwards, Yang Zhenshan spoke with Song Shi for a while, inquiring about the Song family members’ situations.

Song Dashan is the Vice General in Beiyuan Town, his personality is still straightforward, but he’s made a lot of progress over the years, after all, he’s been a General for over twenty years now, he couldn’t remain naive forever.

Regarding those cunning paths, Song Dashan couldn’t handle them, but his straightforward nature was very well-received by the soldiers.

However, the situation in Beiyuan Town wasn’t good, the town’s strength hadn’t recovered from before, and now Zhou Lan had taken away the town’s most elite Camp, making Beiyuan Town’s military forces very tight.

Luckily, the Wuliang Royal Court had already split, unable to commit a full assault on Beiyuan Town.

After chatting briefly with Song Shi, he took the initiative to say goodbye.

No choice, too many people came to pay respects to Yang Zhenshan today, some couldn’t even speak with him.

Time passed bit by bit, until evening, when Yang Zhenshan’s place became slightly quieter.

Throughout the day, Yang Zhenshan was harassed until his head buzzed.

In past years, he didn’t find it bustling on the island, but this year was different, he had been away for three years and now back, naturally everyone wanted to see him.

At night, Yang Zhenshan directly chased out Yang Mingcheng and his brothers, closing the door and having dinner with Yu Qingyi.

”Where exactly is Ming Zhao? Could he be in danger out there?”

During dinner, Yu Qingyi said worriedly.

Yang Zhenshan replied, ”No, I asked, Wu Zheng is always with him, and there are several escorts by his side.”

”Alas, the child doesn’t come home for the New Year, who knows what he’s doing outside?” Yu Qingyi sighed.

Seeing her worried demeanor, Yang Zhenshan felt quite displeased.

He had already decided that once Yang Mingzhao returned, he must discipline this unfilial son harshly.

After a bustling day, the lively Star Moon City gradually returned to tranquility, soft ocean breezes gently stirring, rolling the deep blue sea into waves.

The night sky was as dark as ink, stars glittered sharply, reflecting with the thousands of candle lights within the city.

Beneath this serene night sky, a single-masted speedy boat hurried from the east, even before reaching the dock, the night watch soldiers had already noticed it.

Several soldiers quickly waved flags, directing it to an empty space at the dock for docking.

Before the ship steadied, a haggard young man jumped ashore.

”Urgent military news, the fleet number 22 was attacked at Hu Ya Island!”

The night watch soldiers, upon hearing this, their expressions tightened immediately, wordlessly supporting the man as they hurried towards the commercial headquarters at the dock.

The Yang Family commercial headquarters was situated at the dock, within a large courtyard containing four three-story towers, the grandest and most magnificent building at the dock.

But today, being New Year’s Day, the headquarters had few personnel, apart from the guards, only a dozen workers were working overtime.

Given the urgency of the situation, these workers naturally couldn’t handle it, after understanding the situation briefly, they swiftly went to report the news within the city.
